YESSS! yours was the first video I came across that actually had an intelligent, nonviolent solution to the grease gun stuck to the zerk fitting issue. Thank you! how many years have I been greasing wheels and tractors and I never knew this????
Awesome. This really helped me out. The nipple on the fitting snapped off in the grease gun and was stuck. Your video saved me much struggling. Top man!
You just made my evening! Thanks so much. Had just gotten the Tacoma together after replacing the clutch and decided to grease up the drive shafts since I would be on the highway soon and dang if the brand new grease gun got stuck on the second Zerk! I had visions of trying to replace fittings...watched your video and went downstairs and unscrewed the grease gun!
my man, thankyou! I sheared off the brass zerk fitting doing it the first way you showed. ( my own blind first attempt, not based on your recommendation ) this brings new confidence. thanks again!
Learned something today that I needed. Bought a Lincoln pneumatic grease gun for my RV to make things easier and it was instead harder. The gun was stuck on the top ball joint zerk. The fitting just needed to be loosened a bit.
Seems so obvious when you know these things, but I guess if you don't know you don't know. So good on you for showing this and I'm sure it has helped many people. The bigger issue is usually that the grease on your hands and on that fitting can make it nearly impossible to grip and loosen. I wish they would consider that and make the knurling much much deeper so that greasy hands don't slip.
Your a genius. Bought a new grease gun - greased my boat tired and for the life of me I could not piull thag sucker off the zirk - did what. you said and it works like a champ - popped right off.
Such a niche video but just what I needed today. I still didn’t get it to work as shown but close enough to get it removed. Thank you for saving what sanity I have left.
I learned this trick the hard way. I couldn’t get the couple off a bearing buddy and pulled too hard and ended up pulling the bearing buddy apart. I still couldn’t get the coupler off the broken buddy nipple until I figured out this trick. It cost me two new bearing buddies.
50+ years of fighting stuck couplers in tight spaces and now I just kinda wonder one step further that maybe you are supposed to “loosen it” before clicking it on, then finger tighten it. Then grease and reverse the process to remove it. I only had the issue removing it on occasion with my old grease gun. But the new one locks on every fitting🙄🤔
Amazing how so many of us went through life not knowing this lol! A guy at work broke his grease fitting off his commercial zero turn mower because he didn’t know this little tip.
DUHHHHHHH! You would of thunk I'd have seen that.....oh well. Yes it allows the"knurls" inside to loosen and the fitting to then slip out. If you adjust it just right you can get fittings out by tilting them to one side and then pulling on them. But I think this is the best way, just loosen and tighten when needed. I think I ate to much grease, grime and Nuclear Power while serving on subs....why didnt I just see this?? Thanks..........
The reason that so many machines have "sealed bearings" is that dirt is introduce into a bearing via the grease gun. A lot of mechanics are lazy and don't clean their gear.

THANK! YOU!
I wish I knew this 5 minutes ago. I yanked on it and broke the fitting off in the hole. I fucked around and found out.
I want to kiss you on the mouth for posting this. THANK YOU!!
Lol. Thanks
Thank you !!!!!!
The whole time we're trying to loosen it and we were tightening it
Thank you

Theres a little spring in there that can send the fitting flying into oblivion if you remove too much of the threads......ask me how i know 😒
See this after breaking my zert.. I'm fkn over this trying to fix my own shit to save money 🤦
@@indistructible420 you needed the follow up. Sorry bra
@@TheDIYMoneySaver why not just delete the old video? lol I'm now trying to get this broken Zert outta my end of my grease gun
@@indistructible420 lol. It works for most. Your particular situation was an anomaly. Loosen that joint up and pull out the zerk
@@TheDIYMoneySaver I've loosed the end of it and have it in a vice and can't get the broken part out with vice grips 😡
@@indistructible420 bring it over and we’ll handle it. I have some col beers on tap
Sure as s%*t... it popped right off..
thanks
