Hali can't be considered for an MVP award until he gets a lot better on Defense. Mathurin could definitely win something. But I'd have him starting, so idk. Lol I think he ends up taking it from Nembhard. I think Mathurin possesses all the skill needed to be able to play however he needs. He will also be a much better defender than Nembhard soon.
Steve Nash says otherwise.
The stuff about Mathurin defense is just highly unlikely.
Steph curry won as a bad defender on 2015 and 2016. The key difference is Steph had great defenders in Draymond, Igoudala and Klay. The Pacers defense on the other hand is as bad as can be. They are more invested in developing Mathurin than realizing the MVP equity they have in Halliburton.

Siakam is our best player if they let him be the best. Siakam is pretty much unstoppable as long as coach take the leash off him. Only time his stats suffered was when he was being a team player. Coaches hold back players more than themselves. Mathrin should absolutely be starting over Nesmith or nembhard for sure. Mathrin could become a better offensive player than haliburton but he definitely should be starting! He's a absolute stud when healthy. I say if Benedict didn't get hurt, we would of made to finals. Celtics already said pacers were their toughest team. We came close but we were missing key players. Honestly had mathrin not got hurt, he would of probably got nembhards contract. Im really hoping at least one of the new guys turns into a beast. Hopefully its wiseman that decides to go beastmode! I dont see how he was one pick behind Anthony Edwards and has yet to really do anything. He could of been in a bad situation. Im sure draymond green was difficult to be around everyday. If he didn't feel like a part of the team, i can see the lack of effort. Lets just hope old ricky can ignite a fire under his a$$. I think rick has been best pacers coach since larry bird! I love watching his face when refs make bad calls😂 he cracks me up! Lets go pacers, lets get that championship this year!
