    Man I have to say, this SUV is pretty darn sharp and has some cool features! I wouldn't consider an SUV this big for my needs, but I really like it!!

      Why doesn't this vehicle get at least 29-32 mpg? Add the GM baby diesel for MPG and tow capacity. I do see trucks with a 7K lb weight that gets over 29mpg.

    Gear shifter is simple, modern, it works every time, it allows for a nice flowing dash design up top, and more space down below. GMC did a great job.

      GMC has really improved their line up. Push button shifter is a personal choice.

    • @pacheco1805

      No it's a headache! I hate mine wish it was a column shifter. What do you do when the battery dies in the future because of a bad alternator, when tow truck comes you can't put into neutral. By the way there's a special sequence to go into "car wash mode" so you can enter a carwash in neutral because if you don't follow the sequence then the vehicle automatically shifts into park after a few seconds in neutral. Also it doesn't add for a "flowing dash" because that huge area it takes up could have been used for something else. What about when your backing up looking over your shoulder and you wanna go back into drive, before you slide column shifter down without looking at it... Now you have to look at the dash and find 'D' so annoying. I'm positive this will be eliminated in the next year or 2, my dealer told me it's his biggest headache complaint wise. Sadly I'm now stuck with this version

    • @mybro727
      @mybro727 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pacheco1805 Basically my perception of your complaint is that this shifter requires much more attention and focus from the driver than the column shifter ever did. I don’t see how that’s a bad thing. Maybe harder to be lazy with this shifter, but it’s much safer and it _does_ save space and allow for a cleaner flow of the dash layout. But most importantly it requires more attention than the column shifter. Perhaps another gateway to GM’s vision to zero, emissions and zero crashes. They want drivers to be more attentive as they operate these vehicles. Get used to it.

    • @gestebu
      @gestebu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My biggest beef with the shifter is every review where I've seen the buttons pushed or pulled they are not quiet, especially when pulling up Reverse or Drive. They could do a much better job like Hyundai has done with the Palisade or Honda with it's vehicles.

"Knowledge is power"....I like the way you pepper your review with all kinds of important insights, and personal likes and dislikes backed up with a reason. The info comes out at a torrid pace, which is a good thing, sometimes I need to replay what I thought I just heard. I like the pace, the video keeps right up to the topic, everything keeps moving and there is no dead space. Also, YES!...the gear selector up on the dash bites!

    Our new Denali has two more features: the second row seat has a strap when the seat back is lowered for entry. The strap is pulled so the butt end of the seat rises toward the ceiling for SUPER easy adult access to the third row seat.
    Also, beneath the passenger side bumper is a lighted emblem, GMC, that shines on the ground. When you have your keys with you and you kick your foot quickly over that emblem, the latchback opens automatically. Great for no hands needed when loading objects.

  • @TheRog286713
    @TheRog286713 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I liked how you spent the time to go over the features of the New yukon. There are a few things I did not like. You use one camera for the whole video. Because of that you have to put stock footage into the video which comes from the launch party. Your reviewing the Denali version but you mention the other trims during the review. Some of the times when you do the cut aways to the infotainment the video is showing you the SLT infotainment and the AT4. You also say in the video that all trims come with the trailering brake, that is not the case the trailering brake only comes with the trailering package no matter what trim you buy. The sliding center row console is also an option. You also say the truck goes up and down, that is only if you have the optional air suspension. That is not standard on any trim. Your Denali has the ultimate package which is an 11K package that you would have to put on the base Denali trim. Thanks

    People buying Escalade/Tahoe/Yukon are probably not overly concerned about fuel economy. They want luxury and a smooth ride for road trips.
    Push button shifter is new and a different learning curve. Much better than a lot of competitors putting a rotary electronic shifter on the center console…..dashboard mounting not only saves real estate for the important items….cup holders….. but also reduces the chance of someone accidentally spills liquid on the shifter….shorting it out…. Coffee, water etc…..and yes everyone will say they won’t spill anything…..even the ones sitting in the service bay waiting to find out how much a replacement shifter will cost.
    If your thinking you are missing out by not having wireless Charging…….your not……charging pad is in front of center console and even though mine was a post June model without WC….I counted about a dozen + ways that either the charging pad, phone and or both can be damaged.
    Auto stop probably dames more than a tablespoon but I agree……I don’t like it….
    Fortunately for me, my build date was after the removal of Auto Stop….. I told my salesperson that I would have probably paid GM to remove the system. MPG numbers….at least numbers reported to EPA and publishers is 15/18/17 with SS and 16/20/18 without.
    I do like that they build the dashboard around the infotainment screen not the other way around.
    Comparably equipped Tahoe Premier …..$74K….Even High Country Tahoe is $79K
    Nice design and good features but the exclusivity is correct. They exclusivited me right out of the market and to Tahoe Premier. The $71 base MSRP of Denali is a lose to what I paid for the fully specced out Tahoe. Great review though and nice features. Yes I got a HUD….which is the only Denali Exclusive feature that I was after. And saved $10K…..and mine was in stock….not quite but only two days out. Every GMC dealer in my area was showing presold or “In Transit….some with unknown ETA’s Almost time to switch over to 2022 MY production and some local dealers are just getting stock for retail sale, not fleet, not pre sold etc….
    Mine was technically Pre Sold but to me and only presold for about one day.

      Denali……..”Go big or go home”…….
      For the visibility from the drivers seat…….good commanding view and comfortable seating……
      As for close quarters parking spaces……underground parking and drive thrus…..
      “Like trying to park a 747 into a glass of water”
      There are two major items on the Denali that I wish were available on the SLT……even as options…..5.3 and HUD……
      Sliding center console is nice but I probably wouldn’t think of a control switch on the overhead panel. Believe it or not that is one item I would be fine with manual operation of the sliding part of the center console.
      The rear wiper hidden asp reduces risk ot car wash brushes getting caught in the wiper… arm/blade.
      For those of you with smaller or lower garages make a note. I do like that you can set the rear lift gate 3/4 instead of all the way…..reduces risk of the lift gate opening into the garage door. I had a rental Yukon XL a couple of years ago and raised the 2/4 with power and manually raised the lift gate the rest of the way.
      I do like the separate glass and lift gate…for small items you can reach through the glass. Especially in North Texas with the high driveway slopes.
      I was initially adamant on the Jet Black interior but now that I see the Dark Walnut/Dark Ash Grey is starting to grow on me.
      Make a note of current models….four major items removed due to the global semi conductor chip shortage.
      1. Auto Stop/Start……that I lke, hell I would pay GM $50 to get rid of that junk.
      2. Dynamic Fuel Management…..(shuts down four cylinders during steady spate cruising speed.
      3. Wireless Charging pad
      4. Steering Column electronic lock….. Grrrr hat I am not sure about since it is a theft prevention feature.
      I would ditch some of the convenience features like power folding seats, sliding center console, etc……to keep another layer of theft prevention.
      Power running boards could go for now since the standard vehicle is fixed running boards.

    The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.

    Any info available on how the receiver hitch cover is attached to the bumper? Hoping for an improvement to my current model which is the flimsy inadequate pegs that insert twist and supposedly hold cover in place. Rigid tabs at top break off and pegs fall out too. This resulted in my losing not one but two EXPENSIVE to replace covers. So sure hoping some re-engineering has taken place on that design.

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The class 3 hitch was welded to the frame as is should be based on ASE specifications.

    • @dodgeslogcabins9034
      @dodgeslogcabins9034 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Question is about the COVER....not the hitch. Please re-read comment. Poorly designed system on previous year's models.

    Nice but don't like the indash gear selecter,should be in the center console & no it doesn't take up usable storage space when designed right! Kudos for the interior quality and ergonomics finally meets the upscale market! Steep price makes it costly for "average" buyers but baller status for sure!

      Car Coach Reports - you can absolutely get the Diesel in the Denali - it’s actually a LOWER cost option (-$1500) than the 6.2L V-8. You can’t get the diesel in the AT4 trim (for 2021, at least).

    Пневмо подвеска, какой ход имеет на подъём и на снижение? На подъём у Вас указано 2 дюйма, это максимально? И на снижение сколько от среднего значения?

      Translation to English: Air suspension, what is the upward and downward travel? Your lift is 2 inches, is that the maximum? And how much from the average?

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Air Ride Adaptive Suspension has automatic load-leveling and up to 4 inches (100 mm) of ride-height adjustment. It can lower to make it easier to enter and exit the vehicle and lower automatically on the highway to improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. Drivers also can raise ride height in off-road conditions for more ground clearance.

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The K5 automatic level control module controls the system functions and monitors the suspension system for proper operation. In addition to the driver-selected ride height, the control module uses the following vehicle parameters to establish a target ride height:
      vehicle speed
      lateral acceleration
      longitudinal acceleration
      throttle position
      cruise control status
      transmission range selection status
      stability control system status
      semi-active damping system status
      vehicle power mode
      suspension position sensors
      air spring pressures

    What happens if you accidentally push the park button while driving, is there a safety feature that locks it out to prevent damage to transmission. If there is I like, if not I don't care for it. A nice shifter in the center would be nice and not the column shifter like my past generation Denali

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there is a safety feature. This has been well thought out by GM. To change to reverse, park, etc, you have to depress the brakes and then engage the transmission.

    Purchased the 2022 GMC Yukon Denali over purchasing one of the European competitors. The digital dash and Google maps are a nice upgrade over the 2021. I understand GLS and X7 are large and more practical as the Domestic competition is “excessively large.” Nevertheless, I traded in a Range Rover TD6 as one major issue, I would assume I could fit a lot into the Rover; However, then the sloping roofline would show its ugly side and wouldn’t fit large objects from hardware/furniture/electronic stores. Also, the European models would deprecate heavily after the warranty would expire, whereas the domestic products hold the value better. I understand the higher quality image European models bring. However, once those European competitors become four years old it loses so much money and parts are becoming increasingly problematic during these supply chain problems.
