First attempt at making pathrades in 16 years of living in the U.K. thanks for the recipe. I made the pathrades and my wife made the curry. Very tasty.
I like the recipe. If you add fews cloves cinnamon stick much better taste get more aroma. Chef explained very beautifully. But host didn't butter word. When cooking nice smell coming out. At least she can tell something. She is say hmmm hmmm that's all. Good job chef.
Yes. You could add cloves, cinnamon particularly if you add chicken or mutton along with pathrode. Since this is a condensed version of a TV Show, most of the kannada conversation is edited. So you feel that host has not spoken, in fact there is a lot of interaction between us in the original version. Thanks Meena for your feedback.
You have explained so very well I am from Canada do I have to use raw rice or oaraboiled rice for grinding I just like this dish coz I had been for a feast called monte fest there where I enjoyed this particular dish thanks I am going to make it at my home

Enkleg tulu barpundu, though my mother tongue is not tulu. Ashwith this is a bilingual TV show with Kannada and English. Ancha aad tulu patherere apuji. Eeereg solmelu.
This is not at all a traditional style....patrode is made by rolling them and thn steaming...this the traditional way I know this because I m manglorean
@@rakhit8523 but thts nt the traditional way....traditionally its rolled and steamed....all over India, even maharashtrian and gujartis also prepare with some other ingredients but way is same ...even they roll and steam
@@niharikasacharya6064 no.. it depends from which region of Karnataka u belong to.. the way it's showed in the video is how Catholics in Karnataka do.. maybe Hindu Mangaloreans do the other way.. and anyways maharashtrian and gujjus don't make patrode curry.. they just make snack which is called aloo wadi/ Patra.. they may be similar to pathrode but not same since they use besan

Instead of adding onion directly it's better to fry in ghee and add a piece of cinnamon for grinding gives a better taste....

You may use palak, cabbage etc. Menthe also, but might turn slightly bitter.

Either use only pour boiled rice. Other combination is 1 cup boiled rice and 1/4 cup raw rice.
Sugar is must to blend all the favours
