I HAVE USED OSTER FOR YEARS WITHOUT LEAKS. I THINK YOU HAD THE WASHER IN THE WRONG PLACE. IT GOES NEXT TO THE GLASS JAR ON TOP OF THE CUTTING MECHANISM, NOT BETWEEN THE CUTTING MECHANISM AND THE BASE.

"This is better than watching movies!" -- my wife

    • @ProBuyersGuides
      @ProBuyersGuides  5 ปีที่แล้ว +38

@John thank you so much for sharing. In the 6.5 years that I've made videos, this is by far the most wholesome and kind comment I've ever received.
The internet is a weird place of judgment, trolls, and absolute awesomeness.
Obviously, your comment (via your wife) falls into the latter.
I put a lot of work into this video and when you hit publish you always have that feeling of "We'll see how this goes." you kind of give away a piece of yourself in a way because the video might only be 16 minutes long but it represents 10 or so hours of my life creating my own personal art for an audience of complete strangers.
I try and be helpful with every video but I do get the occasional hate comments ranging from the "this sucks" to the "I hope you die you clickbait moth%*$" (my thermostat DIY repair video didn't solve their specific problem). Last week I had someone email my work newsletter to tell me Facebook Live video was pathetic and that I'm pathetic.
It's sad more than anything. People are so angry and upset and they let that hate fly out of their thumbs to the comment boards.
These kind of criticisms are usually a sign of success because the trolls come out when you reach a certain level of awareness/reach with the content you produce.
You kind of just trudge through that garbage and use nuggets like your comment as fuel to do more.
I love doing these videos because you're helping people out while I get to help my own family by creating content for this platform (monetization and such).
Long story short.. your 8 word comment hit me perfectly at the right time.
I'm keeping the InstantPot and had to return the Nutribullet and Ninja 1100 back to the work office but if you or your wife want to pick out one of the remaining blenders I'd be happy to send it to you free of charge (if you live in the U.S. I'm not that generous that I'm shipping a blender to the north pole or something).
Let me know which blender you'd like (I'd recommend either Cuisinart or KitchenAid blender of the remaining). You can email me at emworral@gmail.com to let me know where to ship it off to.
I know it seems kind of extreme but I've got 6 blenders in my house right now, so you'd be doing my wife a favor, and the best comment in 6.5 years deserves a good thank you.
      Thank you!

It was extremely helpful, too! We were looking for a replacement for my leaky old Oster, and we tried the Cuisinart...Less than 1 week we decided we didn't like the cool new feature of the blender unscrewing the bottom itself while in operation, so we bought the bullet and got the Vitamix, which so far as blown us away. Keep doing the awesome things you do!@@ProBuyersGuides

@@ProBuyersGuides OMG I love this exchange!! Can't imagine how jaded and pissy I'd be having to field these keyboard dicks. I couldn't take it bc TRULY mean people suck! We both know they would be slobbering all over you if they were in your presence. Just wanted to say it's refreshing to see that you can fully appreciate a kind comment and haven't let TH-cam make you hate all people. Lol I found myself here bc my piece of garbage Cuisinart Smart Blender, that would over heat thirty times a all-day-smoothie-making-extravaganza and now just stopped working all together after 2 months. Im that one that makes all fruit topped with whipped cream "smoothie's" 😬🤭 basically worse than a milkshake. So you can imagine my mind was blown seeing your go-to smoothie.🤔😲 Lol Anyway checking my options on offer up and there are plenty Ninjas, KitchenAids, insta-pots etc. So I found your perfect video in my travels. Of course I'd adore a Vitamix but my credit sucks and I wouldn't qualify for the small loan I'd have to apply for!! Yikes. So I was sold on the Ninja until I saw 75% of the ingredients unblended on the sides of the pitcher. So I'm leaning toward the insta for the asking price of $50 new! BUT there is one called the Aimores? New in the white box. Can't figure out if it's worth the $40 new asking price? Finding them from $275 to $20? New?? Any insight on this line? It's relatively non existent around these parts. Anyway I hope to hear your opinion if any!!! Sorry for the novel, it's just lonely in this huge world of unknown blenders.😊🥤

    • @ProBuyersGuides
      @ProBuyersGuides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@funbranditoo4763 That's quite the novel but I appreciate it and you're right there are a lot of mean spirited people on TH-cam so I always appreciate kind comments.
I'm still using the InstantPot... althought they have a newer model out now that I haven't tested. Works well for smoothies, I've found the heated soup option tends to make it hard to clean the pitcher. Not sure if they corrected that on the newer model.
I wish I had time to do more videos, packed house right now!

The ninja is actually really close in consistency to the bullet when you use it right. It had all those blade because the large container is for big smoothies, and you’re supposed to use the other attachments for smaller smoothies. It incorporated a lot of air into the smoothie because it wasn’t full enough.

I have had an Oster blender for over 20 years and bought a new one a few months ago, even though my old one still works. I like that they haven't changed the design of the blade assembly as I can perfectly swap the parts between my old Oster blender and the new one. And I've never had a leak in either one of them, so I wouldn't let this review deter anyone from considering an Oster.

Leaf Issue: With Nutribullet, just stop it, shake it a few times, then run again. Such a ridiculously simple issue to solve.
Also, with Nutribullet, I recommend pulsing it a few times before running. I usually pulse mine 3-4 times for 3-5 seconds then let it run for 45-55 seconds. It should not run more than 60 seconds straight.
I bought the original Nutribullet when it was first released, I still have the original one from 2012 and it still works great, but I have upgraded twice to 2 newer models when they were released and they have all worked flawlessly.
I used my Nutribullet almost every single day. I also have a $500 Vitamix which is great too, but for fast easy smoothies, Nutribullet is the best.
I use my Nutribullet 300+ times a year. I use my Vitamix 15-20 times a year.
I’m a legit Nutribullet pro, I should be doing their infomercials.

The nutrition bullet did a even more phenomenal job when you consider you were using the wrong blade. The blade you used is for crushing coffee beans, nuts, seeds etc. The blade for smoothies is sharper. But yes the nutribullet is an awesome blender. Thank you for the review I didn't know that the instant pot had a blender that made plant milks. Interesting.

I’ve gone through two cheapy Hamilton beach blenders, the first one lasting several years, the second one less than a month (both motors died), and a KitchenAid with the glass pitcher (base works great, the plastic part that attaches to the glass broke and it leaks everywhere now). I love the customer service I’ve received regarding my instant pots. Looking forward to using it. Thank you for the thorough review!

I don't know why you gave Oster a bad review. 🙄 If you had an O-ring properly installed on it, it will never leak like yours did on your demonstration. Oster blenders are like Harley Davidsons. They are built like tanks inside and they rarely mess with the armature, brush assembly and pc board. I should know. I just repaired mine. The drive shaft pin was worn out on my 20 year old one and it's now fixed, it's good as new and will probably outlive me.

I own the Oster. I like it because you can use mason jars with it so it makes it like a personal to go cup that can go in three dishwasher and cheap to have enough for a whole family. The reason you had a leak is that there are tabs on the top pitcher that need to be lined up with the base so it won't leak. For the mason jars I just put my hand on top for the minute or so it takes, then remove and wash the blades put a straw in my jar and I a good to go with breakfast in hand! I even put ice in the smooth, does good.

It is indeed the wrong blade to use for liquid blending -- meaning this results for the Nutribullet are useless.
That said, we had a Nutribullet and our juicing blade broke, damaging the plastic bottle and making a mess that dripped down into the electronics. We trashed it.

I was planning to buy a Nutibullet, to go with my Magic Bullet, and your review convinced me that it was a good way to go. While my Magic Bullet still works fine, it is so old that it has to be coming to the end of its life expectancy and I don't want to take the chance on having the unit I want sitting on some cargo ship, off California, waiting to be unloaded. I use my Magic Bullet every day so I really don't want to be left high and dry for weeks like I had to do when my refrigerator went up.

Interesting, thanks for taking the time to do this review, although my experience was quite different Our Nutra-bullet died and I was kinda glad because it sounded so horrible. I set out to get another and ended up with the Instant Pot Ace which stopped working after one use. I bought a second one and had error code problems with it right away so I had to take that one back as well. I then bought the Ninja Intelli-Sense 1200. I am very happy with this one. It sounds the best, is easy to clean, and does the job very well.

Yeah. eBay is full of "for parts not working" listings instant pot ace models. It seems like an amazing unit on paper. Initial reviews were great as far as blending power. Glass jar and it will even make instant HOT soup, but they should have done more R&D. I'm looking at a basic factory renewed Vitamix or the Breville Fresh and Furious.
That's great that you like your Ninja. I have several different Ninja appliances, including an air fryer. All work great, I just don't think the "total crushing blade" design on their new blenders will work well with what I'd use it for.

I was thinking that the experiment is in favor of the lower volume blenders. I believe the reasons the bigger volume ones are failing on the experiment you did is because you are using small volume of ingredients and leafs are kicked to the walls and then after they stick to the walls there is not enough volume of juice to push the off the wall so they will be blended

Fast forward 3 years, it appears Instant pot has discontinued the Ace, seemingly due to reliability issues. Buyers are angry because they don't make replacement parts available. This brings me to another concern when buying a blender. Which of your reviewed models will have continued availability on replacement parts? Not just things like pitchers, but blades, seals, snap rings, o-rings, etc...
FWIW, according to reviews, the larger full-size Nutribullet (not reviewed) also has reliability issues, and the occasional catastrophic failure, also with a lack of replacement parts.
I'm leaning toward spending nearly 3x the price (renewed) on a Vitamix, just for the warranty and availability of parts. A $100 blender can suddenly become very expensive when you have to replace the entire thing (with another brand out of frustration) a year later due to the failure of a .10 cent critical part. Apparently Vitamix will usually send replacement parts no-questions-asked. Not even shipping.
Breville would be another consideration. They've been around forever, and their site has a dedicated parts page where the more common things like individual pitcher parts (top lid with gasket, inner lid, inner lid set, outer lid set, and complete pitcher set) are available to order.

after checking out a number of videos on the instant pot I decided to go ahead and order one. Since it now 2020 and a newer model is available I was able to purchase mine for less that $99.00 in fact it was less that $50 with free shipping on e-bay, I'm a senior now and I love the idea of not only making healthy green juice but to be able to make a healthy and easy soup is a winner. Thanks for the great job you did with your video it had a lot to do with my final decision. Now where do I find that black bean soup recipe? :-)

    14 oz Hamilton Beach
    50 oz Proctor Silex
This year I shopped for a new blender that had a 64oz or larger pitcher because I needed to use it for 2-quart ice cream recipes.
I purchased the $80 72 oz Ninja blender

To compensate for the food getting stuck at the top of the NutriBullet, I always shake the contents before I blend it. That normally gets everything to the blade end of the blender.

If you put the heavier ingredients in the cup first, and then lighter items like spinach in last, they will be on the bottom and closer to the blade when turned over to blend. I do spinach smoothies all the time and don't have the problem with the leaves getting stuck at the top.

Because you have to flip the nutribullet carafe, you would have achieved the blend that you were looking for had you added the ingredients in reverse( ice goes in first, leafy greens next to last before orange juice. My problem with this model was no venting, so no bullet proof coffee or hot pureed soup. It lasted for about 5 years. I recently upgraded to a nutribullet model with a vented no-flip carafe, a more powerful 3 speed + pulse motor, and your suction cup nemesis. I got it on sale for $85.

  • @mygoldfishrocks

To be fair, you used the wrong blade on the NutriBullet. You used the milling blade, which is for grinding dry ingredients. Had you used the correct blade, it would have created of more of a cyclone effect, which would have reached the ingredients in the top of the cup. Also, the NutriBullet is also created to be able to be easily picked up and shaken as it is blending if needed, to incorporate all the ingredients and shorten the blend time if you're in a hurry. That being said, I also own a vitamix. If you want a truly smooth smoothie, go with a vitamix. There is no comparison.

the nutribullet had a 'milling' blade in it with 2 sides blades. the blenders blade should has at least 4 blades like a cross '+'. and when you put all ingredients in it you have to shake it before turning it on, so the leaves get mixed with the other ingredients a little and don't stuck on the sides. But great video, keep up the good work. :)

I have the ninja. I found if I freeze the veggies and blend them while they are still frozen they don’t leave any stringy pulp. I have not done it with celery yet I will in a few days. But it worked for all other greens even kale, apple skins, cucumber and watermelon rind. Someone told me if you add ice to the greens it will also break up the veggies leaving no pulp. Since I like some smoothies not so cold I just let it sit to warm up a little. Then I blend it again because the thick part will separate.

I was going to mention that you used the wrong blade in the Nutri bullet, but I see someone already mentioned it. However I would like to point out that there is a Nutri bullet RX which is more of a stand up blender type but can blend even better than the regular Nutri bullet. I have had mine for almost 9 years and love it! I use it every day and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Thank you so much for your great reviews

Thank you for taking the time and effort to post. I need a new smoothie blender and was wondering about the noise level and how well it blends veggies. I have a knock off of the nutribullet and its ridiculously loud so I wear ear plugs when I use it. So I said enough is enough time to get one that I can use everyday without going dead! I'm off to purchase the instapot one which without this review I would not have even considered. Thank you.
