- The Sausalito 4th of July parade was started by Joe Tate in the early 70s. His band, the Redlegs had been shut down from playing anywhere in Sausalito.
A bright idea occurred to Joe and he applied for and got a parade permit for the 4th of July around 1975. We put the band on a truck and rode down Caledonia Street and across Bridgeway to Dunphy Park where we played a few sets.
The Beggars Theatre also performed. The parade has continued on until today and these video clips are from the 1991 parade.
