swap out channing tatum with andrew garfield and the movie would have been better! andrew has that retro nerdy look that the character should have had.
This movie is what you would expect a movie about the funding for the NASA program would look like if Disney made a movie about it. But I think Disney would have pulled at our heart strings a lot more. It's very cheesy, it feels long, and not that good. It's a safe movie you can watch with your parents. I just wanted to see Scarlett Johansson.
It was a good movie largely in part because of Scarlett Johansson. Her performance was excellent. Channing Tatum was... Channing Tatum. Nothing against him personally but he's very limited as an actor.
True, I would have liked it better if it was Chris Evans. The chemistry would have been better with Scarlett and Chris but it was all a round cute film. If it came on while I was cleaning on the weekend, I would listen in the background.
@@starbrite526 Yeah Chris was suppose to play Channing's role but he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. He had to film another movie around the same time.
@@Chicago48 i didn't hate but vut i thought they didn't have chemistry, channings character didn't fit for me and overall the film looked good but was kinda boring. 6/10
Thank you so much guys, you really rule, definitely I am going to watch this here in Spain in my local theater. I love Scar Jo. Lots of love and peace !
I enjoyed the movie. I remember watching the moon landing in the middle of the night on our black and white TV as a child. Seeing it again was nostalgic. Loved the recreation of 1969. The clothes, the hairstyles, the cars, the music, the interior spaces and NASA property. The way the movie opened with the faked pregnancy by the advertising lead (Scarlet) for meeting with the car company male execs was so fun and unexpected. Woody Harrelson has never been more Woody Harrelson. Perfect casting. Ray Romano was terrific. Channing was fine. I was moved by the memorial to the Apollo 1 astronauts.
I already saw this movie last Friday. As usual, I loved Harelson's lines about how americans shouldn't let the world live under a communist moon and how Americans should beat up Russia on TV. But! This is such sugary American patriotic propaganda, so cheesy, so clichéd....I was already thinking "maybe it's a parody?". But the Americans in the audience laughed and applauded at the end. So
I did not interpret the movie that way at all. The movie was about why you shouldn't lie and how there is more reward in accomplishing something real rather than faking your way through life. The lines about communist Russia was said more in jest, and to reflect the real attitudes that existed at the time rather than to instill any patriotism in the audience.
@StevenE-l9y i get that was what they were trying to say. But for me it didn't come across in the movie. I didn't seem to fit her character that all of a sudden she wouldn't be okay with the lie...
We really liked the movie. It was a light-hearted comedy. Scarlett Johanssen does a great job and good supporting cast and good plot. It was a nice diversion to go back in time to the 60s space program and have some laughs and remember parts of American history. Thanks guys for the spot-on movie review…You’re the reason why we gave the movie a try!!!
I just finished the movie and I agreed they did miscast Tatum, but I like the romance, but it also felt forced. Overall, I was wondering at the end of the movie is this based on a true story 😂 did Someone finally speak up because because logically it makes sense for the government to make a separate video cast of the moon landing. First time watching your guys can’t wait to see what else you guys produce for videos.
I agree that Channing Tatum was miscasted, which was my immediate thought in the 1st few mins of this movie, b/c his acting style didn't suit this 60's era. I also agree that Ray Romano should have been the lead (male) character. Plus, I, too, liked Jim Rash the most, who I thought was a scene stealer b/c he added humour that this movie needed. I unfortunately didn't like this movie as much as I was initially hoping for.
Kubrick faking the moon landing, coming off 2001, is one of my favorite conspiracy theories. I laughed when i first saw the trailer because i couldn't believe they were going there.
I really enjoyed the film. Scarlet is great and the supporting cast was wonderful. I thought Channing was okay and he did nail the scene with the TV interview, but I Hated his haircut. Whoever decided on and approved that styling should be slapped!!
There's a joke somewhere here? These characters all having a particular skill set that doesn't require fake manipulation of the event🤨and the cat character saved the day too!
Channing is good at somethings and it shows what areas he is good at. Hey, if can have Channing in uour film why not? Just know what you are working with
Guys, I really enjoyed the film. “There was a subtle undertone that ran through the film. 1969 was such a different time in this country. It was probably one of the most important beautiful era when Apollo 11 gave us as Americans a sense of unity, Lines like “we need to beat Russia. It’s ironic the time we are living in actually letting Putin, trump and Russia strategically destroy this country. I know you are probably not political…..but I hope this does well and people witness a different time in our country. I think that is extremely important today.. The Louisiana senate portraying A somewhat Christian Right was also another ironic part reflecting the dilemma i fee this country is facing Project 2025. You guys were really harsh in Channing Tatum. He was definitely upstage by Scarlett’s truly entertaining performance. It was poignant that my recently transitioned saw “First Moon”, I wish he and I could have seen this film because we were heavy moviegoers. It was an unexpected enjoyable film. The gay character was cute, I guess. Dissecting the film was really difficult to understand. Most of all,, your reviews are important part of my movie choices l really look forward to them
Greg Berlanti has always been one of my favorite directors/creator of tv shows from Everwood to The Flash series. Unfortunately this movie was Hella mid tho 5/10 for me tbh
Nice shirts today, gentlemen!
I thought Channing looked a little cheeto like in the trailer.
I kind of think Ray Romano is looking like a silver fox lately!
I see that 😅
Are you kidding🤔Channing is hawt af in this film
swap out channing tatum with andrew garfield and the movie would have been better! andrew has that retro nerdy look that the character should have had.
He is also a good actor whose performances I like watching but whose movies I don't seek out coz I forget he exists sometimes.

Anytime there’s a new release out and i look up reviews, you guys are always the first ones out. and for that i appreciate you
What a very strange plot, I wonder if the people who actually believe the moon landing was faked would like this movie or dislike it?
As a Kubrick fan, I'll probably enjoy it.
You are so dumb to believe that they really went to moon?😂😂😂😂😂😂 what a joke
I think the moon landing was faked. I give it 6/10
Cute yet somehow boring. I think it was too long and channing didn't fit in my opinion

Not "we need to go to Best Buy" 😭 this looked like a hot mess initially but I'm having second thoughts after this review lol
This is not a movie I would like to see but I can’t miss any of y’all’s uploads! Plus it’s like I watched it 😅❤😊🌈
I saw it and enjoyed it. It was very nostalgic and the two leads DID have chemistry.

Nobody went to the moon ffs
Channing Tatum's makeup. 😆
Saw it this afternoon. It's enjoyable. There were only two people in theater on UWS in New York City.
The trailer alone is a hard pass for me.
Most films with Tatum are a hard pass for me. Very limited actor.
Nick’s shirt is amazing. I immediately went to the brand’s website.

Another great review! Feel the same way about Channing Tatum, in the trailer he looks greasy, just an observation.

Are you going to watch the new Tyler Perry movie this week?
Disarming is a great way to put it. I enjoyed this far more than the trailer would've led me to believe.
I don't like Scar Jo. So I'm passing already. Glad y'all enjoyed it though
Same.
Scar Jo and Emily Blunt are both alright. But I agree that neither one is extraordinary.
Yeah she sucks.
She’s not annoying in this.
Damn, Scar Jo's Num1 HATER Over Here…

why there are so many brand biopics nowadays?
This feels like a movie I’d see playing in the background at my grandma’s house.
Marnie was so good.
Nice review thank you.see
Love you guys!!! I'll pass on the movie :)
tatum's makeup was terrible, he looked like he was wearing full foundation the whole time, why? Men didn't wear makeup back then
I knew he looked weird but I couldn't put my finger on it. Yup, that's what it is he was wearing make up.
Say it,Tom Harding should have played Chatty Tatties role.
Ester Williams, not Ethel Merman
i had to stop the film. i love me some johnson but the film didn't flow with her charm. when he introduced that plane, i had to go.

Ok, I will watch it .
