Stunning place Ben! To find those quiet places are a real treat. At 63 years old I look back on 25 or 30 year old "me" and note the changes. It's good to take the time to make those assessments for I'm sure we'll be doing them again in another decade, if we are lucky. What I like the most about the 63 year old me is that I've slowed down, forced to by age and health but it's been very positive. Always enjoy your videos and commentary! Thank you for making them, and sharing your time with us. Sincerely, Ossie
Ardnamurchan point is my favourite part of the shipping forecast but I never knew it was this beautiful! It's such a romantic sounding place name too :3
I camped over in Kilchoan last year (2016) as a spur of the moment thing. I'd seen a few images of that part of the West Coast ans spotted the white beaches - I needed to go! Long story short I was able to visit for 6 days. OMG I was amazed at the beauty of the area! On the first day I'd pitched the tent and was ready, if needed, to climb in and rest. I had an hour or so and walked down to the shoreline. As I sat a seal appeared right in front of me. Literally 20 feet away from me and stared. Must have been minutes of that. When the seal left I then spotted what I thought was a drifting log. Nope - a sea otter!! Laying on its back and slowly (and playfully) swam past. I knew then that I'd made a good choice. Over the following days I used my car to explore the area. I discovered so much during that time. I spent my days (and nights) fishing and doing photography. *Spoiler: there are marine conservation areas so be aware when fishing!!! That trip was indeed a rush thing. I needed to return though and this year (early June 2017) I'm returning. This time for 7 nights and in a static caravan. Look around because there are some good deals to be had. I'll be doing much the same thing but this time based at Portuairk. More fishing, more photography, perhaps a small beach fire to cook with and much much more. I found peace last year and know it'll come again :)
Ricky Parrish It's absolutely perfect! Ardnamurchan was the first place I ever visited in Scotland :) I stayed in Kilchoan! It's stunning :) I hope I can visit again this year :)
Hi Ben, could you please tell me that beach where you were Sat with the beautiful views. I'm looking to kayak the area very soon. Also by the way ...I enjoyed your video on Pucks Glen.
It sure is a spectacular place ben... At sanna i felt like i was in the |Maldives just stunning...only there 4 days you need at least 4 weeks so much beautifulness.
I’ve swam in the Maldives and at Sanna..... Maldives was a fraction warmer (!) but ive no doubt that I’d want my heart buried at Sanna. If you like road running, the run from Kilchoan to Sanna - brief stop for a swim then trot back is perfect on a summers evening
Came across your videos a few days ago whilst planning a trip to Sanna in the Spring......I've watched quite a few of your videos already and they really are fantastic. Great footage and commentary that's interesting and show's it how it is. Brilliant!! Which video editor do you use? I've decided I'll put some videos together of my walks here and from when I did the Camino de Santiago a few years ago but haven't a clue which software to use! Cheers and looking forward to your future trips!
I went to Sanna for the day. People came out of a cottage to say "No Parking" on the apparently public car park. I was in a van so I pointed out I'd only come to look at the beach and said I wasn't staying overnight. "Too right you're not. You have to be gone by sunset!" Not very nice people there it seems. I'm never going back anyway.
It is the end of the world aura around Achnaha.Right in the middle of the Caldera.I have walked round the whole rim since a lad of 12.Been my holiday for 30 years
I know what you mean Ben. I packed up the Munros when I got to just over 200. I discovered I liked the "lesser" hills more because there was never anyone else there. It's a daft game for sure.
Oh there's still a place for munros in my life, just not to the exclusion of everything else. I'd like to be able to say that I'd have gone about it differently if someone had told me at the time that I was being a fool.....but I know I wouldn't have listened. Bagging was everything.

It's a long trip to get there but sooooo worth it.

Sounds like a lovely trip :) Can't beat an otter sighting.
Splendid video Ben, a great showcase for a remarkable yet sadly overlooked place. AtB
Sadly overlooked.....but wonderfully quiet because of it ;-)
Going to sanna bay for a week next Saturday. So excited I love how remote it seems even though the hills aren't huge it looks like a fantastic area

There's some Scottish wildcats lurking around there. Beautiful place.
Yep, something of a stronghold....but for how long?
Visited Ardnamurchan yesterday. I was blown away by the sheer rugged remoteness of the place. We will be back.
What a place Ben . Nice 1 👍
Thanks Alan.
Looks an amazing place. Need to visit and enjoy places like that with very few folks about. Atb Ray.
Cheers Ray.
Beautiful, unspoilt area Ben.
Amen!

It was only 6C when I was at Sanna but it was warm in the sunshine. Perhaps not as warm as the Maldives though!

Thanks for that. I use Final Cut Pro for Mac.....but shooting in HD means you really need a desktop computer to deal with it.
Ben im deffo going here soon in the next few weeks i wana fly me drone around in peace and get some cool footage. Might see you up there lolol ATB Ken

such a beautiful place.we watched the sun disappear on a clear warm night from the lighthouse.
well worth the 300 mile drive to get there.
You can't beat the end of the road :)
Benvironment that's right, you can't.I'd love to go back someday
It is the end of the world aura around Achnaha.Right in the middle of the Caldera.I have walked round the whole rim since a lad of 12.Been my holiday for 30 years
I didn't get a chance to do that this time around. Next time!
Love Ardnamurchan, I spent 30 years holidaying at Kilmory and Branault. Breaks my heart to think I shall not be returning.

A brilliant place apart from the midges,
Cracking place stop telling people lol

Awww.
Try pedestrianising this!
I have to say I'm dead against it.
