Benj, great video as always. Just curious if you have located a "Peak Design" like quick release solution for the X-E4 bar style strap anchor, something that does not slide sideways inside the slit like the PD links do.
@@benjhaisch I think that the X-E4 anchor design, unlike the single point eyelet anchors has a sharper edge, and the constant sliding movement due to the slack may eventually inflict a cut or compromise the PD rope exterior surface. Just wondering if there is a PD like anchor link concept that has a fuller, or flat strap instead of the rope. I have seen that VKO has a quick release anchor link and the "big" size may work well with the X-E4. Just thought I may ask you since you have done some research already. Thanks again. Matt.
Ordered the adjustable strap in Chestnut immediately after watching this video. Got it 10 days later. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL. The suppleness and that rich leather smell!!! Those 2 things make this strap next level for me. Unfortunately the maximum 49” of the adjustable strap is too short for me. But it’s perfect for my wife, who is VERY happy that it didn’t fit me. Turns out Todd says on his site that he will gladly make any length strap you need. Adjustable strap with a 60” max length is on the way. Along with 12 pairs of strap bumpers to use on my cameras where the Peak lanyard won’t fit through the lugs. Great guy to deal with.
I just saw you guys are in Louisville. Thats crazy because I live in Frankfort now. If you guys have any straps ready to go id love to just pick one up because I need one in 7 days. If not, no big deal👍
Too bad they do the BS move of offering a discount code for email signup then withhold it unless you ALSO sign up for text notifications. Sorry but I don’t support companies like that. Plenty of ethical companies to choose from.
@@Stealther Hey! Sorry to hear that bothers you, it's a marketing tool we're testing out and people seem to like it. Anyway, Benj has a discount code for the same amount in the description of his video, feel free to us that, and thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for this Ben. The little red clippy bits that are on the cameras - do you thread those straight in or do you use the little metal triangles ( that come with the Fuji X100V) ?
I modified my camera harness (Moneymaker copy) to have these anchor links. Great for 2 camera setups and it doesn't make noise and scratch up your camera unlike with the original brass/metal attachment thingies.
How did you get the PD QD through the Klasse lug? I can't figure it out and don't want to damage anything. Edit: The Clever Supply Co. stuff is solid. I have several of their straps. I gave mine a neatsfoot oil treatment to help soften them and give them a bit of water resistance. It's really dry here in Nevada also, which is hard on leather.
I got an Artisan & Artist silk cord strap in Japan. Don't remember the exact model but kind of like ACAM-301N. It was a bit expensive, but it's superlight, much lighter than leather, the hooks are built like tanks and it looks incredible on my Leica M6 or Fuji X100s. Highly recommended.
Awesome video... so coincidental that I reached out to Todd earlier today about strap lengths. What length did you purchase for crossbody wear? Thanks so much!
Nice video! Very timely as I was considering one of these. btw how did you manage to get the peak design attachment through the lugs on Fuji Klasse? I can’t seem to fit mine through and having to use a metal ring...
Yeah, I provide small oval split rings with each strap that Peak provides. I know it's not ideal, but it's what needs to be used for the Fuji lugs I'm afraid. Thankfully they are a really small footprint and don't get in the way much!
I just use a usual leather camera strap, just buy the peak design connectors set and hook up with the nylon part of the leather strap, then can "work" as a peak design strap. This way I can still unhook the peak design connector and back to normal strap.
@@benjhaisch or just have a look to this video: th-cam.com/video/peS_i1qan6o/w-d-xo.html Hope that does help others who have the same problem: impatience. 😁
I hate the peak design anchors, they need to offer a smaller loop for their attachments or a smarter design. Theres nothing worse then picking up my camera and having to flip it up or grasp it. Sounds like a small thing to do but the repetitiveness of doing that every-time I pickup my camera has made me go back to regular metal loops. The attachment anchor is also clunky and unattractive which really detracts from the aesthetic. Just my take, but thanks for the video! I was wanting to see the color contrast of clever supply co straps on cameras which is what brought me to your video.
Thanks for posting, and responding to my strap question on your last video. Does it bother you that these straps are nonadjustable? Do you wish they were?
I’ve never had an adjustable strap that I actually liked, so I’m fine with just getting a couple different lengths. But I think an adjustable one might be in the works...
Hey Benj, great videos man, thank you for the content! I just figured out how to get my Peak Design anchors through the lugs of my Leica with dental floss. I attached my current strap to the anchors and notice the plastic portion rubs against the camera. I would really like to order one of these Clever straps but worried the plastic will scratch the finish off my camera similar to how the split rings do. What is your experience?
I’ve never noticed it. I can’t imagine the little plastic things scratching the camera any more than a metal ring. They’re usually hanging off the body without touching anyway.
I never understood the hype about Leica camera straps or cases. I don't like the original Leica straps either (they always twist when carrying). I prefer fairly simple cloth/silk cord ones which cost < $20 on Amazon....they are comfortable around the neck and last forever. Because they are cheap, nobody mentions them in videos.....
like the light. It's so hard to find real leather products these days. The vast majority say leather but they are man made pleather. Thanks for the heads up on these real ones.
Hey your a "big strapping fellow" ;) Actually, I think camera strap recommendations are much appreciated! The Peak Design release is my favorite, adding it to leather makes for a comfortable and beautiful product.

What lengths of strap did you purchase?
Also, keep up the great content!

Very good ! I paired the Peak Design connectors with my favorite RocknRoll straps, works perfectly
