My mom has worked for Conan since Late Night and getting to go into work with her growing up was always so fun. Chris Hayes is the man. He was always so awesome to be around and my sister and I were stoked whenever we saw him.

I love the old remotes with Chris! The moment that lives in my head rent-free is when Conan was asking who in the staff was high on weed, his hands went up in the corner of the screen and they did a second take to highlight him. I dang near choked myself out laughing.

Did Conan keep everyone together? I know it may not be possible but my GOD bless him for that.
Some of them are on reduced work and pay, but from what I’ve seen he kept just about everyone. A lot of them are still with him from the original show; he went on tour and laid to move anyone who wanted to go to TBS. I’ve got to watch the HBO shows to see if he kept the filming crew. Conan’s a good dude.
Conan’s crew be loyal, and vice versa, a bunch of them moved from New York and stuck with him through the Tonight Show fiasco

Hey now...I came up with Dorito type shells when I was 9 in 1987 as well!! It's a no-brainer if you think about it...I thought of it because at my family get-togethers, whether for holidays or otherwise, someone always made a taco salad, and it also ALWAYS included nacho cheese chips. I'd think to myself, "Why don't they make taco shells like this??". I always thought of it for grocery stores, but Taco Hell beat me to it years later. Lol...yes, you read that right...I remember getting "vocal" with the TV screen when I saw the first Doritos Locos taco commercial...my family actually made fun of me when I was 9 when I mentioned that idea! They all laughed at me...my family aren't the brightest tools...lol
The Taco Bell remote was one of the first videos I watched during my time at the university and got myself into watching a plenty of many other different comedy, sitcoms, stand ups and Late Night shows etc. That improved my English skills very quickly and got the US humour😁

I'm always beyond impressed by people who can learn English through tv shows. I always wonder, if there are no subtitles in your language, how do you know what they are saying in English to learn each word and what it means? It is SO impressive when people are bilingual
@@Lucy00111 thank you very much. That's really kind:) But I gotta say I had really good basics from school thanks to my teachers and TH-cam and a lot of singing songs with lyrics also helped me to understand a lot, too:) Important is that you keep listening and being curious to learn👍

Of the 3 things Conan came up with (La Cone-a, Hands-Free Burrito, and O’Taco), I could see the O’Taco as an actual menu item. It would’ve been amusing if Taco Bell had a limited release of it

I once got drunk and ate 5 volcano tacos (the shells had red dye) and I half woke up in the middle of night to take a dump and my poop had a dark red tint to it and in sheer panic for like 30 seconds I thought I was dying... then I remembered what I ate 😂 ever since I've avoided red, white and blue tortilla chips
That happens to me with the Monster Cereals that I try to find every Halloween - Frankenberry does it and Blueberry turn poop pink and green respectively.
That "double decker taco" is a "Taco Bravo" at Taco John's, they are awesome.

You can still order the double-decker taco where I live in Wisconsin. They ring it up as a hard shell taco with “add beans, add flour tortilla” modifiers.

Sometimes you can ask for stuff that's not on the menu. Might depend on who's working though. The beef mexi-melt has had about 75% success rate of asking... but my asking(visits) have gone way down.
I tried asking about that and was told "we don't make that anymore" 😢
I loved the enchilada burrito, but I don't want to think about how long ago they stopped making it.

Inre the double decker taco, I think the cheesy gordiya crunch is it's spiritual successor.
It's the exact same thing with cheese instead of beans as a binder, chipotle sauce as a dressing inside, and flatbread on the outside instead of the much thinner tortilla.
A chicken quesadilla with Extra cheese/chicken and sauce if you got the cash is a great night with the extra two basically "wizz" cheese dip.

I miss the cheesy double beef burrito. Not because of the original old $0.89 price, but because of how delicious it was.

I love Americans who literally have access to amazing Mexican food that have opinions on the word Salsa which literally translates to sauce. Salsa Verde? Green Sauce. Montreal? Mount Royal. Old The Step Sauce? Old El Paso Salsa. Marketing works too well.

My Mexican neighbors do NOT recommend Taco Bell. Of course, they don't rely on advertising dollars either. My little town (60,000) has several Mexican restaurants. One even has a 24 hour drive thru.

TB was started in Bellflower I think, and the dude was trying to mimic a cheese burger in a taco form. Which is why it has iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, and tomatoes. I avoid it regularly because I prefer Del Taco, but I crave it sometimes. It scratches an itch in my soul I can't quantify. And thank you for bringing up the Double Decker debacle! My order was always two DD supremes, a chicken soft taco, and mexi-nuggets....Which I found out were not a a thing in SoCal when I went in for the first time down here and insulted the cashier person and embarrassed myself by asking where they were on the menu. They are basically tater tots with taco seasoning, and also regionally culturally insensitive...Just call them Taco Tots and make it happen!

Grew up in Los Angeles and now live in San Antonio, Texas. I nerver, ever, ever ever ever eat at Taco Bell! It in no way is Mexican food! They are right in saying "it is a choice NOT to eat there." That said back in the day I would sneak and guiltily eat an Enchirito while wearing a large cap and sunglasses.🤣🤣🤣
