- Deciding when to repot and what size pot doesn't have to be a difficult choice.
#1 ... after it's finished flowering !
#2 ... is it very tight/crowded in it's pot ?
#3 ... is it putting out new growth ?
#4 ... is the media breaking down ?
... these are the things I consider.
oh so sorry about your shingles. Get well. Thanks for the repot :)
Thank you. 99% over it.
Cheers
What sprays do you use for scale etc ?
Good afternoon from Tasmania.
I simply use either Neem Oil or a horticultural oil(commercial white oil marketed as EcoOil).
I go over the plant several times over the following days and clean off any dead scale that I can access with a toothbrush. As with Mealie Bugs, the immature scale( crawlers) can hide in the potting mix which is why I repeat the cleanup/spray several times. I avoid toxic sprays because I have Little tree frogs and skinks that live in my greenhouse which I'm very fond of.
I hope that has been of some help.
Cheers
Great Thankyou. I have a couple of frogs & like you avoid the toxic products. Given the size of your collection the eco products obviously work
@@EveGriffin-ny2os... so far, so good.
Have you thought about getting the herpes zoster vaccine for your shingles? I had mine about 4 years ago when I turned 70 as I’d had a serious bout of shingles when I was about 40 which put me in hospital and the doc thought I might not like to take the chance again, the older you get the more likely to get it if you’d had it in the past.
Yes, I've spoken to my doctor, but I'll have to wait. A total wait of 12 months is the state medical guidelines.
@@waynesweirdworld5788 I only found out a few years ago they had a vaccine, wish they’d had it when I was younger, problem is you don’t think that something you had as kid will come and bite in the arse ( for me literally!) years later.
@@gromit9322 ...I never thought it would or could, but it did and I'm suffering for it now.
Cheers
