It was a privilege to have enough talent to wrestle Spencer Lee who is considered the best prospect this nation has for a future World Class competitor. Ayala's Mom isn't on the mat. This is the most competitive sport in the world.
He has no knees. He is massively talented but at the highest levels, having no knees will hold him back. I want to see him win everything but it’s going to be tough.
I’d be pissed too, risk injury on a teammate that is JV. Silly! Happened in high school, undefeated senior losses to teammate while getting injured ending the #1 ranked guys title hopes for absolutely nothing. Focus is required by coaches as well. Spencer dodged a bullet.

Maybe it’s just me. Spencer Lee is the man, but the ref called that pin pretty quick. I know it was inevitable, but when he called the pin I was like that was called pretty quick… I don’t know if the ref does that if it’s during a regular dual meet

Definitely "he wanted it", which tells me it was more Brand's letting his wrestlers wrestle. They both had the option to mdq. Partly silly of Ayala to put his teammate in that position but also understandable, Ayala only gets better having this experience. Not a team move but now he certainly knows.
