Between this and Wallie - I want something mainly for butters. Also some ground tricks, and park progression. Ideally whichever one is easiest to press and lightweight & forgiving for spins. Outside the park will only ever take it on greens/blues and rarely go over 30mph. Thoughts?
Im a little sad this board isn't noodle soft :( what would you say is the most noodle board of 2023-2024? All I do is tons of butters and I just want the noodlest noodle.
@@Grasscentral4705 lol I'm still looking. Honestly what I really want is another full reverse camber board. For the past 7 years I've ridden a Rome hammerhead and can't find anything that comes close.
Hi Avran, i kinda went with the hype and bought the twinpig 154 (92 kgs,190 cm, 46eur boots). Should have fuckin listened to you. Not what i was looking for. I manage to ride it but its stiffer than i thought it would be and it doesnt really excel in any direction except that its twin. Thunder turns better and faster and feels kinda as stiff as the pig. I was looking for a true twin to get into butters and get comfy into basic tricks n small jumps in my riding (4th season). I came from the 159W 23 Thunder which i handle pretty nice and really like the 3bt. Wanted a softer board that wont kill me and let me bend it with ease while buttering. The pig didnt amaze me at all, even with my larger boot size . I was thinking - i wanna stick with 3bt for sure, it simply gives me the confidence and i ride better on it. As a second board, something to chill on groomers and learn a tad bit freestyle n butters, should i go this, plus or evil twin or maybe something else/ other brand? I really enjoy the thunder, ride decent on it but its not on my level for learning freestyle. Would you recommend something? Wouldnt the evil twin be too close to thunder from the flex perspective ? Thanks in advance for some tips.
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks for answering. i was thinking 156w , I'm 2-3 kg above the weight limit, but I hope it will survive my fat ass. With my weight, would the disaster plus be better option? Complete beginner with butters n stuff but I'm pretty fit so I think I should manage this a tad stiffer flex. Regular disaster is 1/4 cheaper and easier to get in EU
Would you recommend this board for me im 5'11" 170lbs and i do a little bit of everything just got into exploring the park and hitting blacks here and there dont really have any interest in hauling ass on my board except getting through cat tracks just really want a soft playful board also wondering if a 153w would be better with my size 10 boots to size 10.5
Is this year's disaster identical to last year's? (Aside from the graphic) Appreciate any help! Edit - just finished the video - sounds like last year's board was less versatile given its even softer flex. Thanks for the video~
Hi Avran, is this board as similar to the capita ultrafear reverse as it sounds? Ultrafear Rev: no 3bt and no sidekick, but, flat between inserts instead of camber plus the “reverse” camber.. (wouldn’t this make it at least as much catch free as the Disaster?) Which one would be a better board for those who can only have one and doesn’t reeeally like buttering but loves flat spinning 3s 5s and 7s, and then back, like scott stevens? Still learning to add butter to this but want to do it nicely and with steeze. ;) Hence I need a catch free board. I like to go down groomers real fast as well though.
@@AngrySnowboarder haha well I don’t know, mate.. not jerry fast but also not not the fastest you’ve seen someone going. Never measured. I surf and skate since very young age and if there’s something in snowboarding that feels easy for me it’s carving down hill fast. Another board reviewer wrote that the disaster is, despite the camber, more catch free than the ultrafear rev and actually more fun. In your opinion, which of the disasters, normal and plus, are more similar to the ultrafear?
I'm 5'8 and around 220 lbs (bulking rn and & will cut to 185 by end of season). My current park board is a Burton Good Company 155, but I was thinking of getting the Disaster for more flat-ground tricks. Do you think I should go with the 151 or 154? I'm not sure if 151 will make buttering and jibbing easier since the board is so much smaller. 154 seems like an unnoticeable difference from my 155. I'm also worried at my weight, I won't have fun with the 151. Thanks
Depends on your preference all honestly I’m 5’10 230 and for me I tend to use a 156w and use it for normal ride and the usually park so I would say either a 152-154
I got 2023 disaster with the snake heads graphic on it. I bought it to progress in park. Think I made a good choice of board? Or what board would u recommend to progress in
Looking for strictly jib stick. Between this and Wallie. I’m 5’7” 130lbs, recommend one over the other? Or would you recommend any of the other similar decks you listed over the Bataleons?
Pretty soft, I’d like the board to hug around rails nicely and be able to press with ease. This board will stay in the park, mainly jib and won’t be hitting any jumps bigger than Midwest mediums. I’ve never ridden anything softer than a Fun.Kink tho so I don’t fully know what to expect
@@AngrySnowboarder huh..? I thought the Wallie was, like the Disaster Plus, stiffer than the Disaster..? Due to the construction and carbon strings etc..? And it's also listed "flex 3" on their website, while the disaster flex 2. So, is the Disaster stiffer than the Wallie..? And if yes, how?!
Do you think the disaster plus is a good upgrade from the ride twinpig? I'm debating the disaster plus or the evil twin plus but I'm worried the ET plus would be too stiff. I'm also 6'4 and 215 pounds but I skateboard so I like the small board feel and I like that they have the disaster plus in a 153 wide option (a potential volume shifted feel like the twin pig I currently ride.)
Hoping the disaster plus is a hair stiffer and a friend already has the standard evil twin so not trying to have the exact same board (I also like the plus graphic style more on the ET and the disaster)
I’ve never rode one of these but it has the lowest flex rating I have ever seen which is a 2/10.. if this thing isn’t a full blown jib noodle then what is? Also curious to know what the softest ever board is that you have rode before? TIA ✌️
@@AngrySnowboarder primary i want to focus on learning butters, and flat tricks. Most jumps i do are juste beside the regular track when there's allot of powder. The (big) jumps with the stiff ungerground i really don't like to hit. (Sorry 4bad english, ain't my mother language).
Hi again angry! (commented on you Evil twin review) I want a new board for my second season to focus on butter/rail progression - keeping my katana bindings (small resort, groomers, S/M jumps, rails/boxes) Was thinking eighter evil twin std or disaster plus. (disaster std is gonna be way too soft for me i think) Not gonna lie, the disaster plus is more tempting for design reasons. Any thoughts on the difference in 3BT? (ET narrow, disaster broader) would think the narrow ET has more forgiving edges, better for buttering and boardslides? Difference in Torsional Flex?
Straight jibbing 44 but you'll have no stability elsewhere. 48 for jibbing with a little pop and the ability to go send a jump if need be and stability outside the park.
