After having my 2015 Accord totaled in an accident a few months back, having a safe and practical car as my daily driver was a top priority. Really happy with the new Civic. It has the size of my old accord with updated safety features and more air bags along with being very enjoyable to drive.

The body structure of the Japanese car design for fuel saving very light and thin materials to build minor fender bender is fine but when driving on highway speed than you are in trouble.

I'm not surprised with these results. Subaru and Honda have dominated the IIHS top picks for years. Safety has definitely been a top priority for those brands for many years. I have a 2020 Honda CR-V, and was considered a Top Safety Pick at the time.

I have a 2005 Honda Pilot & my girl saved our lives twice. I recently had a new driver rear end me at approximately 60 mph. I was turning & she was in the wrong lane, slammed right into me. My bumper got ripped off & the right corner panel is crunched a bit. Her car, Acura TLC, however folded like an accordion. I understand the crumple zone but her cars innards were everywhere. Thank God no one was injured. I’m looking for a newer model Honda hence the videos I’m searching. Stay safe out there!!❤

I have a 2012 RAV4 have not had any real issues past wear parts. I'm doing a refresh essentially of the suspension now because the rubber on the sway bar links is cracked and the boots from the struts. So just replacing all the sway bar links replace struts with KYB ,And some outer tie rods just because they're not expensive and I'm going to need an alignment any way.

    • @STRIKER520

What market adjustment? All car dealerships do that after you pay off a car. This isn't a new thing that's happening. And dealerships are loaded with cars at the moment at least in my area. Still not going to get a good deal like in the past. I bought my RAV4 in 2015 with 29k miles for 17k from a Toyota dealer with the included 7 year 100k warranty not getting that type of deal now. I'm running it until dead or needs any expensive repairs. It's never been in the shop past tires and inspection and the other stuff I can fix if needed like suspension.

Trying to find the safest SUV or truck to put our girls in for college and we were considering a 5th gen 4Runner simply due to its size and the Toyota brand, but surprise, it's not the safest way to go! Something I noticed through shopping and looking up these ratings: A lot of the one's you're saying are the safest don't have BOTH the updated Side and Moderate tests done. Usually it's just one, probably because they know they'll fail? So it's not really comparing apples to apples. It appears almost no car passed with full marks in the updated testing from what I've seen so far.

I was hot at 55mph by a truck thrown into the tiny hatchback in front of me which was a full car length away. I and the car in front of me were both at a dead stop on the highway. A truck going too fast swerved around us and the lady tailgating him struck us. My car was picked up off theground and flew into the hatch back in front of me. The back tires slammed down first then three front tires. I was driving a 1999 chevy cavalier. It cracked the back bumper and chipped the paint on the front. No air bags went off we were all fine and i drove to my tattoo apt ! The truck was drivable but had pretty good front end damage. The hatch back (honda i believe) had a long dent in the hatchback from my grill that comes to a point.

The IIKS safety awards have an inverse relationship with real life survivability. only 5 percent of "Top"picks make the top 20 percentile of real life survivability, while the other 80 percent of BEST real life cars score only 2-4 stars on IIHS scoring,
Leading Japanese makers design only for test score requirements with no concern for real life performance, and have no proactive design protocols to go beyond minimum legal requirements.
They also have applied legal pressure to testers not to consider injury to crash test dummies as part of final score.

Another factual 💯 accurate review. In this Trump era of lying is normal with no accountability, this type of review is valuable and cherished. 👍
RAV4 and Subaru Outback are incredible. 💯
    1) Value for the money and 2) quality/reliability are always the best analysis criteria.

The Volvo XC90 is the safest car you can buy period. In the 20 years they’ve been making them no one has ever been killed in one. No other car maker can make that claim. Ask your agent what car brand is the safest. Most will say Volvo.
