@@beautifulcaramelman I am a HUGE Wax Doctor fan and I don't like to compare musicians at all. But, if pushed, based on discography, I would say Artemis pips him. They are both GREATS though.

Have you ever heard of a compilation called "Total Drum n Bass", it has a camouflage cover with a yellow star logo on it? The fourth (I think) song was Dune's "Resistance (2050)", and the album was mixed so that if you smoked and put it on, that song became almost a second intro track and it kicked in right when you were lifting off. So great. The song is on TH-cam, but, not sure what label put out the sampler or how to find it. Some CDs are tough to replace.
One of the best atmospheric jungle tracks ever. the pads, the synths, the strings, the vocal sample bits, the amen break and everything else is perfect
A feeling of joy, a feeling of bliss, of every muscle relaxing then effortlessly melting into your immediate surroundings to become part of them, taking up no room and yet being everywhere at once.
I ow this to an older mate seeing it hearing it an never look back what a thing to listen to an be part of much respect to everyone here we will never replicate this peace
@@barronmiles7266 I pitch quite a lot of stuff down these days tbh, particularly when I'm mixing or just listening at home, don't get me wrong I love a good tear-out but a certain amount of soul and atmosphere can be reintroduced by dropping the tempo sometimes... Another track which sounds great slowed down is Drift to the Centre on GLR ❤💛💚
Love this! Remember hearing this on a Fabio kiss fm or radio 1 set. Back in the day when dnb only had a 2hr slot on mainstream radio. Before that it was pirate radio only.
as this tune radiates, a cry is heard coming from the unfathomable depths of the deep blue ocean, a human soul trapped in the playful existence that is a dolphin cries out in vain for a companion like itself
i clicked on a youtube mix starting on the pfm mix of david holmes - gone and was about to close it after about an hour of old school rabbit hole diving, but when i scrolled and saw shogun i said "oooh shogun, let's hear it before closing down" and i'm so happy i did
cos your looking down the easy path, take the path that takes a little bit of extra time and effort and you will see. jungle, drum and bass is very much alive
Its alive, but its an old music style, so its alive in small communities (you'll find in bandcamps and alike), people did a lot of what should be done in the genre, yet some artists are focusing in minimal stuffs and its been a beautiful and interesting wave, check this artist: th-cam.com/video/0_5zN1BrqeA/w-d-xo.html But you should check the Drum and Bass Labels, Metalheadz, for example, have releases cataloged in 2017: rateyourmusic.com/label/metalheadz/4 This EP was their last release I heard: rateyourmusic.com/release/ep/andy-skopes/speechless-ep/ Its a heavy music for me, yet its a nice music, good production.
Sophia Cristina To be honest, this variant of the music was never ‘immense’...certainly not as big as it deserved to be. But it was great just that way. I loved going to Speed and Logicals’ at Turnmills or wherever. Thursday was THE night to go out.
If you are here you have reached the zenith of drum and bass.
Absolutely, doesn’t get better than Artemis for me

Ltj bukem? Jk they’re all sick, recently stumbling into the late 90s jungle and dnb scene has been such a joy!
The amount of gems I would've never hear of if it wasn't for TH-cam's algorithm
@@TheDigitalmindsEyup! :D
I wonder who did that anyway?
Despite being a bit old now Im so glad I was around in the early 90's to witness this UK sound evolve
Actually way too many!! Big !
Same, the algorithm is genius when it comes to recommending tunes.
You can say that again bro 👏
the golden age of drum n bass.
Music from the past for the future!! Sounds from another galaxy!!! Big up all the pirate radio crew!!

this sounds like those glass sculptures as decorations back in the 2000s
Wow - one of the finest DnB tunes ever. That intangible mix of hard percussion & dreamy/innocent synths & pads etc. Perfect.

This type of music just takes my mind to another place, chills me out yet gets me hype.... moving 1000mph and standing still at the same time.
Perfectly said..
This is acc so poetic and real
Yes 🙏 exactly! Love those kinda tunes
they be throwing crazy raves down in atlantis to this
Some of the finest works of this genre of music ❤️🔥
this version is actually pitched up and equalized (more highs, less mids, slightly less lows) vs the original... and that's why I love it!
still rocking this in 2023 now 27yrs old jeez where does time go my fav tune of all time Bigups
I have this very ep on vinyl. It’s like gold dust!
This is as fresh today as it was in 96.

This is the most futuristic tune ever made! Gives me fat goosebumps!
