    Man your channel made me get back in my 92 Build that was literally 90% done. It sat for 7 years. I just got the MegaSquirt and I’m about to get her base tuned. I can’t wait to get back in the Calypso Coupe this summer! Thanks for the straight up no BS info yet again! Your channel is drastically underrated. I tell all my Fox guys about it!

    That was a great walk thru on the Megasquirt software. I have the kit to put one together for my 1950 F1 project. It has a 5.0 HO out of a SN95 with Trickflow heads and An old Wieand tunnel ram that I added injectors to. The rest of the motor is basically stock though, so I’m hoping that it should take a tune pretty easily.
    I just subbed to your channel, as I also have a 89 LX with Vortech V3I
    Thanks! 👍 Tony B

    Man your channel is perfect, I’m working on a very similar engine build at the moment, GT40 upper / lower, heads, TF stage 1 cam etc with a turbo for the future so this has all been great to see you go through this. I have a Haltec computer I bought used and no one around here knows much about them and it cannot tune them so you really got me thinking about going with the full meal deal mega squirt instead... questions though, did you notice any power gains in your n/a engine after adding the computer? Will be following for sure! Thanks for the honest videos and keeping it real.

    Thanks for your video! I'll be tackling a MicroSquirt setup this year on my 87, I just need to find out how to wire the 14.7 wideband to simulate the original narrowband sensor... do you have a video on that by any chance?

    Great video! Hopefully going to be installing my megasquirt this weekend just need to put on new balancer. Can't read numbers on old one. Excited to be tuning my own foxbody and watching your videos gives me the confidence to do it myself. Although I do plan on getting it to a dyno for numbers and more fine tuning. Are you planning on getting the clone to a dyno at some point?

    Is that 20 degrees of timing your timing at wide open throttle or at idle?

    • @BREW2LFOXBODY
      @BREW2LFOXBODY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That 20 degrees is at idle and it’s only used to verify timing. After you switch back to USE TABLE it totally ignores that setting (number) and goes back to using the numbers you have in your ignition tables. So in other words it’s a useless number that the computer only uses one time for you to verify timing.

  • @colinwatson3654
    @colinwatson3654 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Question about the timing so is your timing set at 14 degrees or 20? I’m confused lol ...thinking about buying a mega squirt on my efi 83 Capri

    • @BREW2LFOXBODY
      @BREW2LFOXBODY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The number I used to verify timing is irrelevant, the computer doesn’t use that number after you switch it back to USE TABLE. whatever number you have in your table is what the computer will use for your timing. Mine is currently set to 10 degrees in the timing table at idle.

    I need help guys, I bought a 1988 fox 5.0 5 spd that had a microsquirt installed and it would run but run real bad. Vacuum leaks had it running so lean the headers would start glowing after about 1 to 2 minutes with an AFR of about 17-21 along with that I found the distributor was staked one tooth off. Previous owner tuned it with the computer and had it running with some detonation but anyways took care of all the issues, vacuum leaks and distributor taken care of. I was going to take it on a test drive and I had stalled it when going in reverse when I noticed when fully depressing the gas pedal the power lagged and took its time going up the rpms and by that point I said "well then I guess the last piece is the tune!" Downloaded tunerstudio started new project, set everything in the video but just like before as usual I tried starting up the car but this time I had a no spark condition. Using a incondescent test light I found power to the coil pos and neg side but when cranking the negative side was NOT cutting the signal it remained with power (both sides positive and negative). I replaced both the distributor and TFI module and nothing. BUT when I disconnect the spout connector I get spark meaning it's working just off the PIP signal. Exact same thing happens when I disconnect the computer from the harness. Did I miss a step? It was as soon as I clicked "create a new project" I have no spark with the spout connector plugged in! I've been struggling with this problem for months now and it's driving me crazy!
