I agree. And I've been playing both electric and acoustic for a while and have seen NUMEROUS TH-cam channels. This is the best one to learn all techniques on electric guitar along with a little bit of theory. Watch Chris Zoupa if you want to learn solos. These both are best especially pertaining to metal genre.
You know why i love your videos so much is that you get straight to the point without wasting time talking about other unnecessary boring things like many other teachers do.

Hello Bernth, a little question here. Have you ever tried the yngwie's approach to that issue with three strings sweep pickng? Excellent video as always
Thanks for the advice, crystal clear as always. The locked wrist right hand sweeping motion is good for consistency but can be problematic for string skipping in my opinion. Because one important tool to skip a string is by angling the pick (or pickslanting it) in a way that makes it easier to escape the string that we are trying to skip. I think a mix of the two can be beneficial. I analyzed, based on your approach, how I am doing sweeping and I don't arch as extreme as you show but I'm definitely arching a bit when I change direction. I need to skip a string because I pulled off a note to be "quicker" on the transition.
Bernth I like your videos a lot and I also learned many things from you.Can you please tell how many hours do you practice and you also wake up very early in morning,at what time do you go to sleep?
Hey Bernth, loved the video what about doing a video on arpeggios were you have to bar some notes with first finger?? It's very hard to get the notes to come out clear especially using gain.
So we can say that in case of sweeping on few strings wrist motions are better, while in case of sweeping on many (or all) strings forearm motions are better. Is it right?
What song is the intro music. Its so cool. And What scales do you think can be used to improvise melodic emotional solos? (Slow david gilmoures types not shred)
@@gigachad6117 "What arpeggios have you used for the intro music? It's so kawaii." Gilmour tends to follow chord changes, he creatively outlines chord tones as they pass by. He does not improv. Use a metronome if you want to play slow.
Is it best getting the shredding course first or the sweep picking course.....just getting into shredding having played classic rock and pentatonics ? The beginner vid was great to get going. Also is there a bundle offer to get both courses together? Cheers
There's another solution: play the turnaround with a downstroke. This eliminates the contrary motion of playing an upstroke and sweeping down. I use this method in all my sweeps. Enjoy! drive.google.com/file/d/144XcBThqvBnBSXKjBC8FNj_ADPLKcMzt/view?usp=sharing
I have been trying to hold my hands in a fist and not put a finger down. It is hard than it looks, but feels more free, not being tied down. However I keep reverting LOL.
String mute with both hands, use your left to deaden high notes (play with flatter fingers) and use your right to muffle/palm mute the low notes or to stop the one's you've already played. Left hand is like pre-note muting whereas right is post-note muting, essentially.
@@5kr3aminMunk33 Thanks, I looked deeper into the problem yesterday. When going fast, I ease the pressure on my picking hand to slide over the strings well. That results in an after picking muting failure on the B-string because my palm is not fleshy enough at the pinky's root. Angling the picking hand more upwards will fix that but it feels a bit uncomfortable as I have long arms and play stranded only. I will work on finding or getting used to a more suitable hand position requiring less muting palm pressure from the beginning.
Why don't you upstroke only two highest strings and starting downstroke again from "G" string? I found it a lot easier as you don't need the string skipping. UP UP DOWN DOWN DOWN instead UP UP UP DOWN DOWN.
I never really had a problem with the picking. But rather muffling the strings in a way that you can hear each note ring without that annoying fuzz ringing sound of the others strings that aren’t even being played.
String muting has to be done with both hands to an extent. Use your left hand to deaden notes above the one's you want to hear and use your right hand to mute the lower notes.

Essential choosing to briefly descend the partial arpeggio with downward pickslanting instead of the usual upward pickslanting enabling the escape.
