I got 4 new tires and 3 of them are balanced outside with adhesive weight but one tire is balanced inside with one clip weight. Is that considered normal?
It probably has to do with how the wheels are made - adhesive weights are nice because you don't have to hammer on the outer lip of the wheel and it looks better and/or there isn't an outside lip. The inner side probably got a hammer on weight because it has a lip and they're less likely to fall off. It could have simply been the shop's preference.
At the shop I worked at we all preferred to put on clip on because stick on weights were easy to knock off and took longer to clean the area then put on but a lot of customers would request that we use stickon weights, and no one had a problem with that, i'd imagine it's the same at every shop.@@cosmicallyderived
I’ve always wondered why my local tire shop won’t mount anything bigger than a 35/12.50/20 Well now I work there and it’s just because that the limitation of there machines. Also once you ballence an off road tire that Isn’t for high way use but stilll everyone run them You probably wouldn’t either 😂😂 I’m also new and had one of weights just slightly out man I ended up with like 7oz on one side It came out 0.00 0.00 at the end tho🫡
@@sharkclan42 right but if the tires are technically road legal then the machine should be able to balance it. My buddy has 38's on his obs f350 and had to add 2lbs of airsoft bb's to each tire to try n balance it. Kinda ridiculous if ya ask me
I wanted to ask if you balance a tire and wheel remove it from the machine then put it back on the machine should that tire and wheel still be showing balanced? thanks
do you need tire balancing only when you replace install new tires or also on existing tires? the service shop near sold and told me i need tire balance on my 4 2020 santa fe car on an existing tire
You will ALWAYS need balancing with fresh tires. You could need to re-balance a tire if the weights have fallen off or you're getting a weird vibration.
here come all the experts... thans for sharing and this a bargain for most.
My question is are people use this machine service often for a tire shop busness and how much are you guys charge for the service
I just got new tires and saw that one tire don't have any balancing weights. Is that normal?
Weight amounts vary depending on the wheel/tire combo so sometimes you don't need any - sometimes you need a fair amount.
Wheel diameter is written on the tire
Wheel diameter isn't, but the tire diameter is. For example my tire is 235mm (9.25in) but my wheels are 8in
How do you change from onz to gram ?
any body bought this machine and how well do they like it ... any down flaws ...

@@eastwoodcothank you
Yah shop preference seems to be the thing. At one Americas Tire location they used adhesive, at another clip on.

So you can mount a 45 inch tire on your tire change but can only balance up to 34 inches?? That's a bit counterintuitive isn't it??

A balanced tire is a balanced tire. Should still be the same.

Does it work for motorcycle tires?
This setup is designed for automotive/truck tires. Motorcycle shops have specialty equipment to handle mounting/balancing.
can a tire to be unbalanced inside and outside same time?
