I was lucky enough to see Jean's geansai also on Sunday when I met her at the Let's Knit Festival in Doolin. It is such a wonderful and worthwhile project to preserve a piece of our heritage. Amazing to see Jean's painstaking work in recreating the piece. Thank you for the video - it was fascinating to hear more about the history of the Geansai Chléire, and Cape Clear looks like a piece of heaven!
Ahh this is so amazing. I was in the shop when Jean brought in the geansai and actually got to see her progress on her recreation on Sunday and I am in awe of the whole project. Well done for capturing it all on video and thank you Jean for the amount of work you’ve put into this to help preserve our heritage. I now really want to visit Cape Clear. Thoroughly enjoyed this.

This is so interesting and it is great to see that the tradition itself is remembered, celebrated and being recreated...a labour of love indeed at that gauge. What weather you got for the visit to the island....this is a lovely vlog.
This was so enjoyable! It happens that i am wearing a ganséy style sweater that I knitted about 25 years ago. it has a lot in common with the historical garment in your video, faux seams and underarm gussets with cables and knit/purl patterns but it is not 30 sts per inch:-). it could use some short row shaping at the back neck but does not have any, but a very wearable and warm design. Thanks for sharing this !
