In this preview I will give you some hints on how to take a drawing to a finished level so that you can get to grasp the real essence of your sitter using just graphite. I will present some of the stages to create a three dimensional effect and how I use some of my drawing materials.

Top shelf material. I liked the brush idea and can relate to art be like a game. You can play and there is movement in what you are doing. I love it because you are there in the moment and can appreciate it in the future.

You are a modern master. There's no doubt. You have incredible skill and personality. I really enjoyed seeing your drawing been taken down into these steps
I draw fairly often and would like to believe my drawing skills have improved over the last years. But I'm still learning and even this which seems basic I didn't seem to really really know. I love how capture the soul ♡

This is so helpful Cesar!!! I always get to the 1st stage of the drawing and I'm always afraid of adding too many values/shading and screwing it up so my drawings look kind of unfinished! I'll try this !!!!!!! Thank you Maestro!!!

Now I'm retired in my 60's and have rediscovered my first love of art. I cannot thank you enough for your spectacular teaching. God bless.

👍 I agree , if all the old masters did photo realism there wouldnt be any style to set them apart without extremely close examination. To paint in this way would pretty much go against they're unique style and creative signiture . On the other hand I think it's great to have the skill to do this.

Beautiful :-) And concerning photo-realistic or hyperrealistic approaches...anyone can do whatever he or she wants. But working 4 weeks on a drawing just to get every pimple right is of no use (at lest for me personally). Doing it realistically ok, but becoming a slave of reality, I don`t see the sense of it.
