I Found Her In Indonesia & Took Her To A Volcano.
I met my girlfriend in Bali, she is beautiful and has the brightest personality and strong love for travelling. I took her to this volcano called Mount Ijen, also known as the Mountain of Blue Fire. The day before the hike, we got picked up by our friendly driver Aldo (@javaexotica on Instagram) who drove all the way from East Java to Ubud, Bali.
We drove for around 3 hours from Ubud to Gilimanuk, then took a ferry from there to Banyuwangi, East Java. After a long drive, we arrived at our homestay, went to a local restaurant, had delicious dinner. I ordered the Banyuwangi Special - Pecel Pitik, needless to say it was delicious. Then we returned to our homestay for rest.
At 12:30 am, we left our homestay at drove to Mount Ijen Carpark. We had some hot drinks to warm up our body and then the hike began at 2am. On the way upm there were many "Mountain Taxi", meaning physical pullers pushing you up the hill.
After around an hour and a half, we arrived the crater. We made our way down to the crater lake 20-30 minutes. The toxic gas at the lake irritates the eyes and my mask did not work. My guide Malik being an absolutel legend gave me his mask so that I can venture into the the toxic sulphuric gas and capture footage of the blue fire. It was so beautiful in person and was nothing like I have ever seen.
As the sun rose, we returned to the top of the crater. This is when tragedy happened. I CRASHED MY DRONE. The wind was so strong that my drone could not make it back in time. It was using extra power to withstand the strong wind and at 0%, it fell from the sky and landed in the middle of a jungle with no road access. However, I stayed positive and smiled it off even tho it felt gutted for a while as the drone was a huge investment for me.
Fast forward weeks, I returned home in Melbourne to surprise my mum but failed. I took time off from social media and prepare for my 1-month adventure in India.

Thank you for your kind words, it means a lot. I use the old Canon M50, it’s a very budget friendly camera! Just need to get a wide lens like 16mm, then you’re ready to vlog!!
