Love Cracker Barrel! We have never parked overnight at one but we used to take my Dad to breakfast every Saturday when he started having problems with dementia. The staff was always excellent and the food was great. Dad would always shop in the store and pick out a gift for my mom. It was very sweet. We lost Dad in late 2021 and will always remember those trips to Cracker Barrel where he loved shopping and eating a good breakfast! It was Dad that got us into camping, he bought an Apache pop-up camper in the early 70s and we towed it behind our 69 Ford Econoline club wagon van. That was an awesome camper and great memories including fort wilderness in 1976. Thanks for the awesome video.
Roast beef, fried fish, greens, corn muffins, baby carrots. We often eat at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store when traveling and at home in SE Louisiana. They are ALL Corp. Owned.
The best thing about Cracker Barrel is Country Fried Steak, Cheesy Hashbrown Casserole, Green Beans and Corn Bread! Years ago we planned our vacation stays by areas with Cracker Barrels........driving from Florida to Illinois never tasted so good! I will also add the staff is always old fashioned friendly and helpful. After surviving a stroke and a "widow maker" heart attack I am suppose to refrain from good tasting food.......Cracker Barrel would be a exception though!!!
YUMMY! Their biscuits with apples they have! Desert! I never order a regular desert, I just order apples with my meal and save the biscuits and apples for last! If you guys are heading I-40 East passing Gordonsville Blow your horn as you pass through! I watch for Seemore and your Airstream all the time. Never know when you are gonna be around. Safe travels.
Most Cracker Barrel’s have an area that the sell local stuff. For us her in Louisville, KY you can buy Charles Chips. Back in the 60’s and 70’s you could buy the at Winn Dixie Grocery stores. When Winn Dixie left KY, you couldn’t get Charles Chips. Cracker Barrel in KY sells them. I get 2 bags and some sour cherry candy there every time we go. The dumplings, meatloaf, turnip greens and pinto beans and the fried chicken is excellent. I like breakfast too, and get the Country Boy Breakfast for dinner with extra side of country ham and biscuits.
Great video. Cracker Barrels are our favorite overnight stop while traveling. We agree--let's as RVers show our thanks to Cracker Barrel for their hospitality and willingness to let us park overnight.
We could not camp without cracker barrel it would b tooo expensive..like home Depot..dog friendly.. Lowe's..sam's club..ALWAYS ask..hubby loves their pancakes best..RV parky is a must..as we drive off I always yell thank u cracker barrel we couldn't do it without you.. greetings from NC and just one more mile
I always overnight at a Cracker Barrel on the way to my son’s place in NC. Always welcoming. My only gripe is the people in cars parking in the area marked RV/Bus parking. So I just park as far back as I can in the lot.
We have not spent the night at a CB as of yet. I find the designated RV parking a little short so I often park across 7 spaces in the far back and go inside. I buy my wife clothing in the store as well as comforters, pillow cases and toys for kids. We have eaten breakfast lunch and supper there at CB's all over Texas as well as Arizona. We love chicken and dumplings, meat loaf, rainbow trout, cod, turkey, chicken etc. For breakfast, usually eggs and bacon, ham, sausage for breakfast. Love the country music they play and the large fireplace is great in the winter.
Grilled chicken tenders with hashbrown casserole, green beans, and salad with ranch dressing, and biscuits 😋 oh and don't forget the sweet peach tea!!!!
Our extended family of 8 ate lunch at the Sanford, FL location today. Fantastic service and food. I got the "Old-Timer's Breakfast" and everyone else got lunch; all sorts of dishes. One of us got their salad and main course (Chicken-fried steak) served at the same time. He sat there while the rest ate their salad, and complained that they held his until his hot meal came out. They apologized that had happened, and told him to enjoy his salad, that they would bring him a whole new meal that he had ordered when he was done with his salad. They brought his new hot meal out as promised along with a to-go box for the one that had cooled off, so he could take it home. That is service with a smile. We will put Cracker Barrel on our list of potential boon-dock stay over places.
Chicken fried chicken. 100% no questions asked. We just ordered our first RV yesterday! Cougar 22mls. Can’t wait to get on the road and Crackerdock! Thanks for the video. Doug n Angie north eastern Indiana.
We live in Canada and going to Cracker Barrel is a real treat for us. Had to laugh when Kristy shared her favorite meal-the baked potato and salad. That's what I always order and my husband is the anytime breakfast lover.
Wow just watched this on TH-cam tv so great to see my favorite rv internet guides on a big screen at home. I only travel in the summer/fall but have enjoyed several Cracker Barrel nights. I travel alone and as a single older woman traveler the coziness of Cracker Barrel even if tacky and pretend is always comforting. I like the breakfast and hot turkey sandwich I think if my memory serves me. My friends and family enjoy the trinkets and it makes for affordable items as I have a large family. Thanks for all you two do…. I started my travels in the smallest of airstreams the Bambi and you both have been my guides.
We stay here more often than Walmart as we travel from Ontario Canada to Tucson AZ. Love the food, quiet accommodation and really appreciate the friendly hospitality.
My last trip down and back to Texas I stayed at CBs exclusively. I get parked around 4p, go inside to check if it’s okay, it always has been, I order a meal for the night, then I’m the first one at the door in the AM to get breakfast!
Traverse City MI Cracker Barrel in August 2022 - found a T-Rex hand puppet. Didn't buy on first visit, so made a special trip back from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to buy it the next day. It now happily travels with us everywhere we go. Loved the Haddock dinner, but haven't found it in the last year or so - goes great with fried okra and mashed potatoes and white gravy. Typically get 1 biscuit and 1 cornbread - love them both. Ask for apple butter (not on menu but available everywhere) to put on the biscuit and you have your desert!
While I've enjoyed many a meal at Cracker Barrel I would caution anyone with a long rig that you probably won't be able to avail yourself of their RV parking. My rig is about 63 feet long and the couple that I've been in the RV parking spots weren't long enough to accommodate my rig without blocking the aisle. In one instance had someone not been leaving when I pulled in I would have been stuck and would have had to unhitch my toad in order to leave. Just something to be aware of. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
The last week of January, I returned from FL, via GA, AL, MS to AR. Two different nights I stayed at a Cracker Barrel. Both times I arrived after they closed, but went in for breakfast and a bit of shopping the next morning. I thanked both of them and told them how much I appreciated the safe spot. I found them to be much quieter than WM lots due to no semis near me or extra traffic late at night. I was surprised that I felt safer at CB lotdocking. I don’t do a large breakfast when I have a long drive day, but I did get the Biscuit Beignet with maple syrup for dipping. It was really sweet and yummy.
We love Cracker Barrel! When Covid hit the country we were in Florida. We Crackel Barreled it all the way back to PA. We nicknamed them Covid Barrel'ss. But they were so welcoming and good to us. We parked near a divider and were able to extend our slide. Good memories.
Usually what happens campers stay overnight somehow they manage to leave the trash don’t pick up the dog poop and KB is a very clean place. Let’s see how long that last.
Yes, it is definitely so important for RVers to be good guests whether it's Cracker Barrel, Walmart or a Harvest Host. Problem is with the people who decide to live full time in the parking lot. My local Walmart has had a problem with people living in motorhomes, complete with 2 cars, bbq, propane tanks, and storage tubs under the RV. Spring through Fall of 2022 they had 4 full time motorhomes who lived there for 8 months. Scary, scary looking people unfortunately. I finally called the Walmart HQ to ask that this be addressed and finally in November the permanent residents were gone.
so the question is: if you came into the Walmart parking lot and saw 4 different very dilapidated motorhomes, plus cars, plus bikes, bbqs, storage totes and people were clearly living there, would you feel comfortable staying overnight? @@BeefNEggs057
@@snowbirdlady8496 I would move to the furtherist area from them the more calls they get it will soon stop for all of us..tho it has already started..we can't travel without free overnight parking to get to our destination..we will have to stop..b safe
Our first stay at a Cracker Barrel with our TT was the one in West Palm Beach, FL; on the way to the Keys. We, unfortunately, pulled next to a Class C that had their generator running full blast and it exhausted right at our trailer. Needless to say, we left that area of the parking lot and moved away from them. The rest of the stay there was very pleasant and the dinner was great. So, as was mentioned in the video, PLEASE do NOT run your generators while staying there. Be considerate of others because certain lots, like this one, are not huge!
LOVE staying at CB, as a matter of fact, sleeping at the Kerrville, Texas location now! I found a BEAUTIFUL lighted nativity at the Yuma, Arizona location back in December. It is so beautiful we have decided to keep it out year round!
We have a Cracker Barrel here in Rehoboth Beach, De and I often see people overnighting in the lot. I usually plan my trips to Florida (two days 1,400 miles) by the Cracker Barrel locations. My daughter now travels around the country in her Thor Talerro 20J and stops there in more populated areas where there are no Harvest Host places! We also have a WalMart where I have seen people abuse the property!
great info, you mentioned not using your awning or fire pit when using the privilege of overnight parking. i have to also say, while overnight parking at a wal-mart, we witness people who put their slide out. we couldn't believe it. this also should be a big no-no. please respect the privilege these businesses are allowing us. before they are all taken away. too Cabela's is another place that allows us to stay and we have used. i've also heard Bass Shops allow us too, though we've never stayed at one. have fun, be respectful and stay safe..💜
Love the hash brown casserole. Stayed at a CB where all the RV spots were full of cars. Got permission to park behind the building where there was a small lake, quiet with lots of birdwatching. Brew pub across the road. Somewhere in Indiana I think. At another one during COVID, the restaurant took take out breakfast orders over the phone (closed inside) and delivered the order to our Airstream!
We've never stayed at Cracker Barrel but we eat there slot. I usually get Mamas pancake breakfast or chicken and dumplings with baby carrots fried okra and hash brown casserole. We love Cracker Barrel.
We always stop at CB and sometimes we stay overnight. We get in early (late afternoon) park and go in for dinner about 6pm and then in the next AM we go in and have Breakfast. Yes, we always tell them "Thank You for Camping in their parking lot". Note: We are getting a CB in Reno NV. Can't wait. By the way I like your TH-cam videos.
love the CB.... Never pass up a chance to order the vegetable plate. Low cost and a great way to fuel up .. As far as overnight parking, I've never stayed at CB, but I have stayed at WM as far out of the way as I could get. I always try to stay very very low profile.... I also plan way ahead with earth view and scope out hotel parking. You would be surprised at the number of hotels that are next to the highways that fill up, and its easy to "blend in" ... Blend in, is the key.
Great video! We love staying at Cracker Barrel when possible. Two of our favorites are near Spartanburg, SC and Ocala, FL. Favorite meals: for me the trout, southern fried chicken, and chicken fried steak. For DH, the last two and breakfast with bacon or sausage and pancakes. I think it is called Grandma’ breakfast. I like buying greeting cards in the store. One stop I bought a sweatshirt with “Faith, Hope, Love” blinged on the front.
We love staying at Cracker Barrel! I love the retail store. I’ve purchased Christmas decorations, candles, preserves & old time candy. We love the fried catfish dinner, fried chicken & their breakfast. I am concerned about people abandoning their RV’s in the parking area. When traveling this past fall, we saw 2 that were obviously abandoned. That along with trash being left is going to ruin it for everyone.
Retired superintendent here. Been picking up trash my whole life. Never have figured that out. Give them nice facilities with trash cans. And they throw it on the ground.
It was an overnight stay at Cracker Barrel that led to changing our rv. We stayed outside Dothan AL in a CB lot that was undergoing some renovations. We called the manager to get permission (a nice courtesy if you’re getting there after hours). There was room for two rvs: our 34 ft travel trailer and a 45 ft Prevost. The problem was that our bed was on a slide that went a little too far into the travel lane. Given it was 2 am and we had no other choices, we took our chances and settled down for the night. The Prevost decided to leave at 5:30 am and barely had room to scrape by our slide. We realized that any other traffic through the parking lot might have trouble getting by us, so we left after getting a restful three hours of shut-eye. Soon after that trip, we traded in the travel trailer for a 5th wheel with an accessible bedroom over the hitch. We feel much better about our occasional overnights in Cracker Barrel’s. We enjoy breakfast there the most.
PS We stopped and ate at that CB on our return trip when we didn’t have to overnight. We also called the manager to thank her later in the day when we had to leave before buying breakfast.
Stay at many of them ,remember the one in Flagstaff AZ af that time they only had one couldn't believe how many RV,s were there the over flow were even park out front on the street !!
We have stayed at many Cracker Barrels, always our first choice if it’s available. Quieter than say, Walmart. We always let the manager on duty know we are there and get either dinner or breakfast to say thanks. Hope they don’t stop letting RVers stay overnight. Thanks for the video!
We have Crackerdocked for years. We normally like to be off the road by 5pm. That way we get a good dinner and then breakfast the next morning. We always try to thank the manager on duty. My favorite stuff in the store is all of the old candy that you normally can't find. PS...we have never been turned away.
@@LongLongHoneymoon you are welcomed. The RV life is part time on account any and all family members take the option to live in a MV as pooly reflecting on the community. Thus they never permit one to be come full time. I live at THIKA only 15 min from the city. Should you travel to Kenya 🇰🇪 it shall be my duty to .ame sure your are concatable.
Cracker barrels are a favorite stop for us and they are filling up with RV folks more and more! You are lucky to find an opening. When we do, I enjoy the chicken fried chicken dinner with greens and mac n cheese.
I have enjoyed Cracker Barrel’s for many years prior to RV life. I have stayed at several with my RV and had a good experience each time. I have noticed that they have recently started serving alcohol and just today saw an ad for Mimosas!!
Have done the CB lots of times. Great food good price and the wife always finds something. Some will let you move to a back corner after hours so We could have some room overnight.
Yes we have a Solo Stove as well, and also love it. The Turbro is a less expensive alternative; it seems like a good firepit so far, but I think the Solo Stove is built to a higher standard of quality (mainly thicker metal).
We have been able to frequent Cracker barrel many times. The chicken fried chicken IS TO DIE FOR! Also the dumplings are awesome. Never had a bad meal there!
Traveling to and from the west coast to Indiana to visit relatives along with other trips like to NOLA and Sioux Falls we have used Cracker Barrel overnite parking in several places ...First off, we are a fan of the food so thats a plus...Secondly we appreciate and take advantage of the free parking for the nite...Nicest Cracker Barrel we have seen for parking is in Tinsley Park Illinois ...There is a lake just behind the RV parking which makes a great place to walk the dog...Another option we use and perhaps you might want to make a video of is Casino Camping...The for the most part are just as convenient as Cracker Barrel which we again appreciate...Most have descent food and sometimes free live entertainment....Its a good option...Travel safe, be well....
Great video. I'll eat at Cracker Barrel's, but I won't park the camper there. Usually I'll park nearby and walk over. There's just too much traffic and I don't have much faith in some people's RV driving skills. The increase in bans on overnight parking is all an effort to curtail vagrancy and homelessness.
I also get stocking stuffers there! I love Grandma’s breakfast and the hashbrown casserole. Last time I went the pancakes didn’t have those buttery, crispy edges. But I will try again!
Yes we stay at Cracker Barrel occasionally. Most recently in Lubbock, TX last month with our 5er. The manager said “I can’t tell you you can stay, but I won’t call the cops.” I took that to mean go ahead, we won’t bother you. Their location for an RV was in the back against the curb and was completely open. We were there early enough to have dinner (I like the 4 sides offering. I’m a fan of fried okra and greens). Then we had breakfast in the morning. (Always get the biscuits and ask for apple butter. I like grits, too). We appreciate your work to produce these helpful videos. We’ve watched since 2015.
Used the available parking at Cracker Barrel a few times on my trip from Illinois to the south and everytime it was peaceful. Hash brown casserole with over easy eggs for the win
We have stayed at a Cracker Barrel several times on our recent cross country trip always good old fashioned home style meals both breakfast and dinner are very good and the portions are generous there’s quite a few very good options biscuits country fried steak and grits yeah that works for me 👍
You will often find our Lazy Daze in the Cracker Barrel parking lot when we are traveling to our next campground. We haven’t availed ourselves of an overnight stay yet but always stop off for meals. Breakfast is my favorite. My daughter likes the lunch menu. The country store is amazing. I always pick up a variety of bottled sodas. Cracker Barrel always stocks seasonal gift’s which creates a pleasant shopping experience.
We stayed at the Cracker Barrel in Rochester NY while visiting our son who was attending RIT a few years ago. The website still says “Amenities Bus/RV Accessible”. It was parent weekend hotels were $300 a night but all booked up by the time we decided to go. We drove our Class C out from New Hampshire and stayed over Friday night. Met him for an excellent breakfast in the morning. Also went to dinner Saturday night at the Genesee Brewery. Since it was a Saturday night Security escorted us in their golf cart to park at the brewery loading dock. We find if you ask politely folks are more than happy to help you find a place to park your rig while patronizing there establishment.
You found my fav, Chicken n dumplings, not many places still offer them. My wife loved the grilled chicken tenders for lunch, very low cal and good veggies. Enjoy
The food is really good. I have never had a bad meal there. It is a great place to RV for the night, but I don't expect it to last long because people for whatever reason want to take advantage of it. Walmart is a good example.
We have an airstream and do utilize Cracker Barrel stop overs. We enjoy the old fashioned candy they have in the stores and the Stewart’s bottle root beer.
The TurrrrrBRO Firepit! amzn.to/3lbuOB9
#1 son is living in a cargo trailer conversion and stays at the same Cracker Barrel once a week. He always gets breakfast AND dinner the night before.

We like to RV overnight at Cracker Barrell because we like the food and snacks there. It's an excuse to stop for a nice meal.

Oh yea, the Old Timers Breakfast, please appreciate the parking they allow! Be good neighbors on the road of life!
Get candy sticks in the store. You can also make a self defense tool out of while enjoying. Hash brown casserole is a must
love the CB....
I prefer lunch over breakfast as well. Cracker Barrel's hashbrown casserole is a must. They do a decent "southern" fried chicken.
The Chicken and Dumplins are really good, also they make pretty good meatloaf.
We stayed at several CB on way to North Carolina last spring great stop enjoyed their breakfast eggs beacon & biscuits hope they stay true to RVers
Cracker Barrel, Bass Pro and Harvest Host are our go to on long trips.
We have stayed at many Cracker Barrels, always our first choice if it’s available. Quieter than say, Walmart. We always let the manager on duty know we are there and get either dinner or breakfast to say thanks. Hope they don’t stop letting RVers stay overnight. Thanks for the video!
We love Cracker Barrel, although we’ve never stayed there. I always get the chopped steak. And fried apples. THE BEST!
We have Crackerdocked for years. We normally like to be off the road by 5pm. That way we get a good dinner and then breakfast the next morning. We always try to thank the manager on duty. My favorite stuff in the store is all of the old candy that you normally can't find. PS...we have never been turned away.
We have a Crack Barrel in Boise Id. We have never spent the night, but the food in outstanding.
Since the year begun we in Kenya have had difficulty accessing your content. So it is good to see the same.
Be blessed and have a good day.
Wow, thank you! We’d love to visit Kenya 🇰🇪 … Let’s do a meetup someday!
I love Cracker Barrel.... especially their breakfast meal morning, noon or night. Roll tide
RTR!!!!
Stayed several times at a Cracker Barrel in Arizona and New Mexico. They had designated RM spots, friendly staff, clean washrooms and great food.
Have done the CB lots of times. Great food good price and the wife always finds something. Some will let you move to a back corner after hours so We could have some room overnight.
I love their lemon pepper trout.
Good Morning again. i use the Solo Fire Pit. Love it. Jack
Yes we have a Solo Stove as well, and also love it. The Turbro is a less expensive alternative; it seems like a good firepit so far, but I think the Solo Stove is built to a higher standard of quality (mainly thicker metal).
Hey! That's the Cracker Barrel we go to. About five miles away from us.
Love Cracker Barrel! We are newbie RVers and we truly enjoy staying at a Cracker Barrel and enjoying dinner or breakfast when doing long road trips!
Roast Beef, Mashed Potatos, and Greens !!!
Sourdough toasted on the grill is the best!
Used the available parking at Cracker Barrel a few times on my trip from Illinois to the south and everytime it was peaceful. Hash brown casserole with over easy eggs for the win
i love their chicken n dumplings!!
The website still says “Amenities
Bus/RV Accessible”.
Love blueberry pancakes
With blueberry syrup.
Their old fashioned sodas are good to try.
Been there done that.
O issues, no trucks running next to you.
Made sure to thank the manager and eat some food.
We have an airstream and do utilize Cracker Barrel stop overs. We enjoy the old fashioned candy they have in the stores and the Stewart’s bottle root beer.
Cannot beat Cracker Barrels for the food but also overnights if it is allowed. Thanks as always for the updated info. Take care. Dave.
Love that place in morning to have breakfast nice fire place
