Hands down the best and most detailed how to video I have found on TH-cam. Thanks a ton for making this video. The $25 part and video saved me $600 from having to buy a new dishwasher. Worked like a charm!!

Took a while to track down the flashing AUTO button as low water pressure. Decided to try replacing the inlet valve and it worked! Great video. I followed the instructions step-by-step. Thanks!

I’ve literally been Googling around trying to find what just the flashing Smart Auto light meant and found nothing until this video. Thanks! Everything I read mentioned Heavy and Auto flashing together, but that’s different.
Luckily I already ordered the valve when I could tell the valve was getting old (squeaks when water runs through) a few months ago so was just a matter of time before the dishwasher started warning me.

You guys are absolutely the best, I just replaced this part in my dishwasher, and I looked like a pro thanks to you. Dishwasher works like new. There was clearly debris in the filter, I suspect it may have sneaked into the valve and impaired its function. Thanks for posting this awesome video!

Great video! One small detail to add: I had a leak in that area and suspected the valve. Took the brass top off, and lo and behold, one small section of the o-ring between the brass and plastic was seated wrong. The stains showed that water had been flowing very slowly out the side where the o-ring was seated wrong. The valve goes for $45 to $50 or more. I found an o-ring the right size at my local hardware store for 39 cents. Also, I unfortunately broke the drain hose while pulling the dishwasher forward. Before buying that $50-$60 part, I'm patching the old one together inside a short section of 1" water hose, sealing it with a ring of Permatex black within and then a ring of foaming Gorilla glue. If it works, I save $60 and waiting for delivery. If it leaks, it's a fairly easy repair now that I know how to take the unit out.

Seriously amazing video. I was able to complete the repair (with some minor issues along the way). I couldn't get the fitting off the old valve off, it was completely corroded and sealed with hard water deposits and it was impossibly stuck. I was able to head to a hardware supply store and find a new 3/8" compression to 3/8" MIP elbow connection.
I also ended up dropping a couple screws down into the dishwasher area when it was upright. That required a decent amount of jiggling of the whole dishwasher to get them out (and some spill cleanup too as a result).
At the end, it solved the problem but I also had a very slight leak at the valve fitting connection. I had a decent amount of Teflon tape, but like another comment mentioned, the whole fitting just needed one more turn, which I found very difficult to do. A good pair of clamps to turn the fitting some more and I didn't have to take the whole washer out. again.

Thanks for this. Our Samsung had insulation in many places the one in the video didn't, but I got it figured out, followed the instructions, and it's back up and running! Appreciate you doing this! First break down on this dishwasher, so I'm hoping it's good for a good long time now.

Thanks for the very detailed video! It made the removal/installation a breeze. My only snag was I thought that I had installed the fitting tight enough into the valve. Apparently not, it took one extra full turn.

My dishwasher fills with an inch or so of water and then stops. Could it be a faulty inlet valve or is the water just not being drawn up to the nozzles so the water won't continue to circulate.

Will be using this video to repair a year old samsung dw80r9950us/aa in the coming days. One question, why did you disconnect the power wires inside the power harness. Couldn't you just feed the unplugged power cable through the cabinet to give you the needed room to turn the unit over. Very curious on your response.

Is it just me or does it seem like this could be done without having to remove the whole dishwasher. Seems the water could be shut off, power disconnected, lower rear access panel removed, then remove the water supply to the valve. Then removed the mounting bolts to the valve and pull out enough to remove the rear hose clamp and then remove the valve. Reverse to go back together.

I have this unit. It slowly fills with water during the day. Is this the fix for that? It's not mentioned anywhere what issue you are fixing with this.
Nice dishwasher but the issue I'm having is making me hate it. If we leave for a few days it leaks out on the floor cause the levels get too high

Is it possible this can leak? When the water is turned on to the dishwasher, it leaks. It does not set off the leak sensor. It leaks from the bottom.

      Dishwasher Error Codes
The 1E and/or the OE Error Code is caused by blockage preventing the unit from draining proplerly. Fortunately, most of the time this can be resolved by cleaning the Fine Filter System and Sump in the dishwasher. If that does not resolve the issue, unfortunately service is required.

Great video! I have a Samsung dw80f600 series dishwasher that started leaking at about where this water intake valve is located, and it's leaking, actually dripping when the dishwasher is on or off. It's dripping about every 20 secs. and coming out of a little manufactured hole in the black plastic covering/panel (hard to see unless you pull the unit out or use a mirror), so I'm assuming Samsung put that little hole there for a reason. My dishwasher's symptoms seem different from what I've read about other faulty water intake valve's, but again the location is about the same. Before I order the part, can anybody help me determine/troubleshoot if my dishwasher's symptoms of dripping on or off, are because of the water intake valve? Thanks again for a great video!
