  • UPDATE: I received a copyright claim on the first song in this vid and instead of pulling the video I used TH-cam's replace song feature. I picked something similar, but unfortunately there is audio missing and the cuts don't go with the music very well. I apologize for this.

    • SMOKED OUT: Epic Dusy ...
    A last minute wheeling trip meets CA wildfire season. Watch as we attempt the 3-day, 31 mile long Dusy Ershim Trail deep in the Sierras. This trail is beautiful! It runs along a narrow boundary where 2 secluded wilderness areas intersect. However while we were enjoying the scenery, a monster wildfire (Creek Fire) was growing in the distance. With no access to information other than what we can see with our eyes, we monitor the fire's progress as we head to our lake-side campsite at 10,000 feet.
    At the time of upload the Creek Fire has burned 302,870 Acres and is only 38% contained. It has destroyed 855 structures and is now the 10th largest wildfire in CA history. I would like to thank the brave men/women fighting to save lives and control the blaze.

    Awesome edit as always man! I was the guy on thompson hill with the exo rig @ 18:55 min. Happy to hear you all made it home safe, we bugged out Saturday morning after getting word via GPS that my house in Shaver lake was getting evacuated. Never crawled so fast in my life, trying to get down the hill and find out where the fire was. It created it's own weather pattern and exploded in size that weekend, consuming most everything in its path. Despite losing my place on Labor day, a handful of us from the volunteer fire department were able to re-enter and fight and try to save the remaining homes in my neighborhood. Devastating to say the least but true colors are shown under duress and the whole mountain community has banded together like never before. I did manage to save my yota though and would love to tackle the whole Dusy with you guys next season. Looking forward to watching the second installment of this epic drama, great job with the first part!

      BRO! I am so sorry to hear about your house. I am super glad you found this video because I was wondering how things ended up for you. However that is great that you were atleast able to help others in the community and still have the yota. I cannot imagine what you and other locals are going through, but I hope you are back on your feet? I absolutely want to make it back there next summer, hit me up on IG (same name as YT) and we can figure out dates closer to the time. Also, thanks again for all the help spotting and getting Cam unstuck. That full length hi-lift was clutch. Really stoked to have met you out there. Wish you the best!

    Love the Vid. Sweet editing style. Love how your front drive line looks like a jump rope. Surprised you don't have more sub's. Its way better than that garbage other channels put out like Lite brite.

    Another awesome video. As others have said I love the editing and the drone shots but most of all Toyotas!!!! Sooooo sick of heep vids. Trail started out kinda tame and then got real. Putting this trail on my bucket list. Looking forward to part deux.

      @COLINSMITHSLO  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for always supporting the vids! It was funny but we only saw a few jeeps headed the other way on the trail, everything else was Toyota! Def worth a trip to that area once the fire is put out.

      @@COLINSMITHSLO Actually no. The only major casualty in our group was a broken axle at Kaiser Pass. Other than a couple of rigs we saw at our Thompson Lake campsite, we did not see anyone else. We got off the trail on Wednesday and ran Coyote Lake Thursday. Fire started Friday.

      I started as a passenger in my friends jeep and I think this is the best way to get a feel for the ups/downs of rock crawling. Building and owning a rig is a big time/money investment which might not be for everyone. You will also find that you may like certain types of offroading more than others, so having a little bit of experience before buying/modifying your vehicle can help you know what direction you want to go. Possibly see if your area has any local jeep clubs, or any local offroad groups on social media? There are also tons of events all around the country. Glad I could help inspire you and wish you the best!

    A ragged , tattered Old Glory is NOT a badge of honor, it shows disrespect. Now that you know maybe you will fly an intact stars and stripes, change out the torn up flag whenever needed.
