I blew up a Raptor 700 just like this, after changing the oil. Not too long before quad motor blew. Now I always check the oil in the bike. I don't ride until I check the oil & add some if needed to top it off
Yikes!!! That's definitely going to be some expensive repair! Definitely understand your situation for letting it go! We understand! You still got plenty of quads! Staying tuned!
Sorry for your loss, the FSM calls for 1.9 US qt.s for oil change w/filter, everyone should check the oil level at least once a week if not more often depending on how much you ride, also overfilling a 700xx can cause overheating.
I have a parts 700xx with a motor that probably had the same problem... Not enough oil.. Not saying its the case here, but alot of people dont know how to check oil on the quads with external reservoirs... 👍👍👍 Dang the luck guys...
2 or 3 quarts doesn’t really matter now guys as it’s failure seems to be caused by a lack of oil. Exactly how much oil did Dom drain outta it? I must look back at the vids as I do recall noticing that quad quite smokey at times? I bought a warrior that blew nearly the same way last year and it cost me a fortune to rebuild. 😬. Congrats on the new family addition. 👍🏻
Thanks man. Dom had mentioned about 4 oz left in the motor. It was Smokey a lil bit but would of never thought it would burn that much in such a short time.
Not saying you did anything wrong that’s sucks the raptor blew up. But I made it a habit to Check the oil before I ride every time. I have a 06 yfz 450 & a Honda 450 Foreman and do it to both just to make sure they have oil before every ride. Keep up with the great content
Holy cow almost 3 quarts! Thats crazy my buddy has a really nice 700xx i almost bought it a couple months back for 1500 but decided on the yfz how did you like that IRS on the 700
It’s crazy man but all the forums said that’s the amount of oil to put in it and it was reading good on the stick, most comfortable wheeler I’ve ever rode, the power was perfect for the trails as well!
We have lots of machines and change oil regularly in all of them year round. This machine I researched because we’ve never owned one, forums online said people were running more than 2 quarts, but I paid attention to be sure and we filled her correctly. I suppose every machine is different and this one has for sure been rode
3 months... bruh... you should check your oil before every ride. This doesn’t surprise me at all. Tough but you live and learn. Better check that raptor. Change your oil like you change your undies! Lol

Damn that’s weird because I have a 700xx and 2 qts of oil seems to be just fine. That’s what the owner’s manual says to put in too
after watching this, the next day I took my 400ex out but before that I check the oil, it was way low, took 3/4 of a quart. You might have saved me.

@@lifeatv if you go back and listen to the Honda in the battle of the 700s you can hear something going on. I bet it was getting low on oil.
The quad is supposed to take 2 qts as per the owners manual. If u put 3 u would have overfilled it if anything so something had to of gone wrong.
2 wasn’t even showing up on our stick..
