    This is awesome, I actually bought some of ThePocketForge's earliest pieces when he first started doing this. He made me a custom pair of tiny Witcher swords, which I still have and enjoy very much.
    Edit: Btw, it's called a scent stopper pommel because it's shaped like the top lid of some styles of old perfume bottles. When you put the top back on the bottle the scent stops emanating from it, hence scent stopper.

    The reason it's called a "scent stopper" pommel, is because it's in the shape of the crystal "cork" (not sure how else to call it, english isn't my first language) that was used on parfume bottles

    • @arose62
      @arose62 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The glass/crystal piece is called the "stopper" for the "scent" bottle. Hence "scent stopper", and reusing the term for a sword part which looks very similar.

    Making mini swords is really fun. I made an viking era swordt a few years ago from an old small file, so I could harden and temper it, a
    large nail for crossguard and a 2 piece 3 lobd pommel..
    Totally not as nice as this one but really fun to make.

  • @P3x310
    @P3x310 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    8:31 Alec, you sound as if you'd never used a drill clamped into the vise as an improvised lathe! I've been doing that for ages. One of my drills had a speed adjustment knob built into the "trigger" so I could regulate RPM with it, my replacement drill when the first one died had speed regulation by the depth of depression of the trigger, so I used a string and a stick and how much I twisted the stick controlled how much the string tightened, thus squeezing the trigger slightly more or less. I also never needed to do anything even remotely precise with it so I could get away with not buying a lathe and overindulging in shameless tinkery instead.
