I'm considering a new caliper and was interested in the dial version.
I wish you'd shown us how to use the bezel to "zero" the caliper (and when or why you might want to do that).

Why is there two .0-100” markings on the dial? In other words why is there two zeros? Why not 0 to 100 in a 360 degree arc?

As far as I know, it's just the design of the caliper. Not all calipers have this feature.

I'm sure it's because one revolution of the dial represents 200 hundred thou of an inch I believe it's to do with the gearing on the caliper one type needs a reduction gear which makes the caliper heavier and less accurate

So measuring SAE bolts, like a 5/8, whats the best way to go from .524 to 3/8?
I ditched that day in math class....
    Thanks for the video.

would you recommend a digital one for easier use from a newbie at ammo reloading ? this is used to measure the cartridges

I prefer a dial caliper instead. Once you learn it, it's easy to use, much quicker than a vernier version. A battery version has the risk of the battery leaking, dying, or the electronics failing.

Just for sake of clarification ? why aren't the tenths place being use, it just seems weird to me that there is a whole section of measurement just not there. why skip the tenths place and go right into the hundredths place

Your video is great for showing what the parts are, and how to read, but you COMPLETELY glossed over on HOW to *actually use* it. How did you move the bar open with the tab? Did you push the thumb tab in? Down? Is it a switch or a push-tab?
I’ve taken out all the screws from mine and I can’t figure out how to just OPEN IT.
I’m glad your video was helpful for everyone else with common issues, but my calliper came with zero instructions. So your video was unfortunately completely unhelpful.
