The quality and size of these enclosures gives these lucky animals so many ways to exercise and explore... so important for their complete well being . Seeing that blue tree monitor from above, while he is on his branch many feet above the ground.... And that alternative nesting box with the hole in the top... Fantastic. This is a place I definitely want my grandson to visit someday !
Such a beautiful place…I really like seeing enclosures to always perfect this for captive animals. I always think about how much room they have in the wild, how far they travel for food, how much territory they own. It’s not possible to always recreate the right kind of space for every animal but should as much as possible be based on their needs. They should have the correct diet, plenty of stimulation, places to hide and sleep, etc. With the information available on the Internet, there’s little excuse for neglect and poor care due to ignorance. Kudos to the folks running it. This should also be a lesson for pet owners to think carefully about whether or not they can provide what a species needs…vet care, housing, food, exercise, etc., etc., etc. Kenan, I also believe people could learn a lot from what you’ve done. It’s a part of why I watch your videos. If I were not too disabled I’d love to set of a cool habitat for a lizard and get a rescue, though picking a species would be hard!
I live in Sydney,Australia. A massive wild monitor that was close to 6 feet long and thick. Came marching into my tent camping ⛺️ 😂. It stole a bag of beef jerky. The park ranger said if I saw this particular monitor, to call him asap. He was trying to capture him before he bite some or got killed. But I flew out of that tent so fast😂. I told the monitor he could keep my tent😂.
hey you gotta come back to Australia and check out featherdale and the lace monitor cage they have it would blow your mind as someone can just reach into the cage it does not have a roof caging them in or even very large walls
Also varanus mabitang (one of a fruit eater monitor lizard from the panay island) has the same type of skin like spinulosus. But the most interesting and in my opinion closer relative is the varanus jobiensis (complex). They have the same look and attitude. Probably their role in the wild is something similar because they share their homeland with plenty of indicus and tree monitor species, and the juveniles lookin exactly like spinulosus babies too.
Kenan!!!! For your croc monitor cage at home Put HUGE BIG Branches no Skinny little one Bigger around then you leg You have woods right next to you , Even screw them together and make high platforms High up in Chases cage
It is interesting that Khwessel ended up in Texas with reptilandia because his namesake that Ketzel Quitzel Koalas was discovered in Texas Of all places. and into Is the following reptile! How cool is that?
I would suggest for your crock monitors you find a short maybe two to three story tall tree and build a cage around it As some smaller plants and shrubs build a hidebox in the tree and a lay box somewhere on the floor or in the tree or make them make the high box laybox as well a little sand and repty bark and I think you're good to go you just need a airlock type situation on it you still need to do that for the other crock monitors you already got put a airlock on Lulu's cage and on chasing diamonds cage For now because it'll be good if you want to let's say move out any of your iguanas into those two cages after you build a larger cage for the crock monitors and I don't see why you couldn't have all four crock ponders because then you want to get a mail for Lulu in the same cage I mean I don't think they would fight but you'd have to check and do your research and find out if that was possible. I would do the airlocks just to be on the safe side cuz you never know when weird things are going to happen or somebody wants to try and escape not saying that guapo in the low would dry or Petro Petra would try but you never know much what might spook them you know if a hawk lands on their cage you might spook them. I think Jerry has a female water monitor named Lily she is very sweet like slinky and I think that she would be a good match for slinky to make babies but she'd have to convince Jerry to loan her to you for short while during her cycling So that she can get pregnant and then you need to put build a lay box somewhere in slinkies enclosure far away from where slinky usually hides but only she can get into so she can lay comfortably. and of course do with Jerry's consent and Jerry being there so we can see what's going on see if they lock up so on and so forth so that's all you need is just a couple of lockups and then she can either stay with you until she lays the egg and you can incubate them or she can go back to Jerry and he can get the eggs and incubate them there whichever one way you're more comfortable doing it with GRE and Jerry agrees. but I would love to see baby slankies good now the pinky is with Jerry she's no longer super food motivated like she used to be when she beat you accidentally because Jerry feeds her more often which is what I keep trying to tell you you need to feed your females a little bit more often because they are the ones laying the eggs and they need the extra protein and calcium and vitamins and minerals to create the babies so feed up your females a little bit more please i'm not seeing your starving them i'm just saying if you want good babies you got to feed the Mamas well before they're ready to breed because if you have a momma that's hungry she's not going to want to breathe if she's well fed she'll be more like to be motivated to make if you feel she's ready to have eggs. so please babe introduce your females you're lizards your crocs whatever and feed them turtles and tortoises do well by themselves because you feed them enough and it's a group feeding so they all can get what they need but when it's the carnivores you tend to favor the males I don't know why you do that but you do and it's kind of getting to be obvious about it If we were thinking and slinky he'd feed slinky like 4 or 5 rats and 4 pinky would get one maybe two if she was really aggressively hungry and sometimes you give her baby chicks and those are smaller and she get three feel like slinky 6 or 7 I mean I know Pinky was smaller than slinky but if you wanted her to get bigger you need to defeat her more often small amulet is more artful would have been better maybe I don't know.
What do you think about Timor monitors?? I’ve been planning on getting that one when I’m ready, because they do land and water. Also they don’t get very big.
you can make a cage around that big tree you have in the middle on which once you made of the python to crawl around, not talking about the albino retech, the other one
When a lizard shits all over you it means you don't have to show it to us by pissing it off and scaring it, WE WOULD RATHER SEE IT NOT BEING HANDLED FOR CLICKS N VIEWS

What a great place! I love all the places in the U.S. that are protecting and advancing the knowledge of the species. 😮❤😮
We agree!

Great to see and learn about Monitors that you don't see or rarely see in zoo's or private collections.
I’ve been acquainted with Ryu for a long time. I am so proud of, and happy for her!

Yippee!!! Goannas!!!
The Black Soil Plains are written about in Colleen McCollugh's book:
The Thorn Birds
A good read about life on a Sheep Station in the Outback.

Awesome info, thanks for sharing!
That’s gotta be one of the best facilities in the United States. Thanks for showing us.
It really is!

Hey Kenan have you ever thought about getting a mangrove monitor?

I never hear about savanna monitors 😢
this monitor reminds me of your two black throats huff and puff although I'm beginning to think you really call them off and bluff.
🤠
Real ones remember Margie
so can your caimans' eat cane toads?

Same old, same old...
Kinda weird with the benefit for the satanic temple and stuff...
