i put telemarks on a monoboard with shopping cart swivels under the binding. no toe and heel drag ,no need for fwd lean backboards because you can put it on the edge with no effort... i'm going to make a basic version with regular snowboard bindings raised up and inch and a half from the monoboard..snowskate sensation on a big board
Closed my surf/snow/sk8 shop in 2019...just fishing for a living now. I love what you guys do, makes me feel warm & fuzzy! I hope to make a trip up there soon, and meet/ride with all of you in person. (Yes, I'm still snowboarding & surfing in my mid-50's)
I love that kind of content! 🤙 And thanks for the last recommendation on Kazu. I got Strata on my DOA but I think I need something more stiff, I will go with the Atlas.
Where I live in Germany all the Snowboard Shops closed. Hope to be Able to Visit you guys one Day! Love your channel and would love to go riding with you one day!
i use snowshoes touring..split boards wont fit in skin tracks either and have trouble on a traverse...it would be tricky to turn my swallowtail into a split with its metal tip
Thanks for an awesome episode! For carving with step ons do you get any extra heel drag from the heel cup and also how do heel side carves feel with the lack of forward lean adjustment? Thanks!
i always put a drop of wood glue in the binding inserts.wood glue doesnt go brittle in the cold and will just brush out when you take the screws out.shouldnt need to tighten the screws after the first couple of runs
Super video! Can Mark clarify and show how he gets his needed proper forward lean with step on? Does he use some additional canting at the front? Thanks!
Man, I Love gear talk. Been riding the sims mystery lunch 161 the last couple seasons. Have the Noah nub edition and the standard model. Total quiver killer imo. I ride it between .5-1” set back (usually .5” but will sometimes move it back to 1” if it’s xtra deep). Riding the fix yale bindings with the first year ultra straps. Angles at 0 and +3, no forward lean. Tried riding the ultras and some bent metals and the base trays both had rub spots on my boots that bothered me so I switched back to the fix. They aren’t anything fancy and there are better bindings for sure, but they fit my boots nicely and seem pretty bomb proof (atleast once I swapped straps, their ratchets and ankle straps sucked). Riding the 32 tm2 xlt for boot but I have the older 32 liners that had the strap across the top of the liner. Had the standard tm2 previously and like the little bit more support the xlt gives. Little too stiff when fresh, but they broke in just right and I feel like they will last me a lot longer than the standard tm2. Keep this kinda content coming!
Super random question, I remember a while back mark saying that he puts a snowboard boot liner into the felt lined vans standard MTE for splitboarding. Is that a 1:1 swap or is is there a .5 size down on the liner or up in the boot. Sounds like a great overall winter setup for older liners. Love what yall are doing over there thank you for sharing you knowledge with the rest of us 🙏
super random comment, but i'm wearing a psychonaut shirt right now (you mentioned the amplid board). pretty cool belgian band, kind of tool-adjacent. i would highly suggest "the fall of consciousness" as a first-track listen

Feels like I'm just hanging out in the shop. Best video!

Those Kindred boards are sick.
Curious to hear about how the souly grail goes. That thing looks sick!

Just got the Nidecker Rifts seem comfortable and well made. Look forward to getting them on the snow.
Nidecker makes a high-quality deck. Unsurpassed really. My Megalight from 1999 still has camber in it.
Do the snow ❄️ dance 🕺 for us in California. You’re our only hope
That Sims 1 piece is some great history, some of the Sims Pro Team can be seen rocking them in the Sims Snow Shredders Movie, cool days.
Nice one boys, will be by tomorrow
Great episode 🤙

What boot sizes you guys riding with? Interesting to see if the boot size x board width rule of thumb is more or less followed.
