    People in the U.S. is always laughing about people who drive small cars. Yet most of us who chose to drive big SUV/Crossovers/Trucks can barely afford the car payment or few gallons of gas.

      I dont mind getting a car like this in matter fact it's looks cool its good on gas. Chevy did a good job with their design of the spark its has that European look. Im gonna trade my 300 for something reliable and good on gas cause my 300 is a lemon car

      I got mine in August 2018 and still in love with in. In Quebec, gas being more expensive, we are use to small cars. I had many compliments on my blue Spark even from the guys at the car wash believe it or not!

    I prefer small cars. The salesman doing this doesn't. He kept apologizing for it being "itty-bitty". Maybe the dealership should have picked somebody who likes them and doesn't make fun of them.

Only one type of guy wants an itty bitty or adorable car....normal guys just want an affordable car that can get then the hell away from their wives for a bit.

    My wife is going back to work after 21yrs of living like a poor mans queen. She went down to look at a 2019 spark where I'd bought my last new 2012 f-250 and they made her a deal she couldn't refuse. With a 125,000 mile warranty 14,400. She loves it. Only 300.00 a mouth for four years.
    Love that backup camera. Don't lose that key, its 325.00 smackers.

  • @snakeryanmaster
    @snakeryanmaster 6 ปีที่แล้ว +61

    I love my 2019, its a blast to drive. Ive had several small cars over the years , but the spark is the best! I traded in my big dodge 1500 crew cab with the hemi, it was handy, but repairs were beginning to come along with the huge expense of repairs. Not with the spark. Heck, four tires to replace on the spark for the same price as one for the big truck. Oil change, holy mackerel! half as much, and 1.4 as much if I do it myself. Try changing 16 plugs on a hemi, or, 4 on a spark. Gas? no doubt that the spark is great on mileage. For long trips the dodge was nice, but the spark, not that bad for two folks. So if you buy one, take in mind how much money you wont have to spend. haahahaha

      I recommend the Mitsubishi Mirage as well, the main class competitor to the Spark. The way I see it the Sparks handles and looks better, faster, better dealer support network, but the Mirage has a much better warranty, stronger reliability ratings after 5 years, better mpg. My next ride might be a Spark 5speed, I dont trust the way Chevy programmed the CVT7, too many documented issues. All in all, both good budget cars for the money.

    • @maxsjelly-filleddelights9429
      @maxsjelly-filleddelights9429 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm seriously thinking about getting one. How well does the Spark handle on interstate highways?

    • @kylemas2005
      @kylemas2005 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maxsjelly-filleddelights9429 I test drove one and it was fine on the highway. Its just loud with tire and wind noise, like all subcompacts. Id really recommend you check out the Mitsubishi Mirage though, its reliability is proven with its JATCO CVT7. The Spark, which uses the exact same CVT7 had had issues with their programming. Now if your considering a 5speed, Id go with the Spark. If you plan on Ubering, they wont let you with a Spark but will with the Mirage. I cover about 100 to 200 miles a day driving avg 42 mpg, and after 9 hours I still got a half tank of gas.

    • @DANinMTL
      @DANinMTL 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    G/f and I just got this LT model a week ago in a Toasted Marshmallow color and man.... this really is fun to drive and the gas mileage is EXCELLENT! Literally takes about $18.00 of mid-grade for us to fill up from 1/4 tank to full. This is an EXCELLENT gas-saving car. Even though it does take a bit of acceleration to get going, once you're moving you barely notice you are moving along and it handles surprisingly well at high speeds on the highway.
    This is a highly recommended vehicle, was well worth getting the car.

    • @kylemas2005

    Let's be honest, this is a daily commuter vehicle. Mostly going to be used by someone whose single, for driving to-and-from work. And, once a week for getting groceries. As such, it's big enough. Doesn't need an ultra powerful sporty engine. Very good fuel economy on Regular gas. (On average, compared to fueling up on Premium, you save around $300 a year on gas prices.) Plenty of room in the hatch for a large work-bag, plus a road-side emergency kit. Put the weekly groceries on the backseat. You've got the option to fold those seats down on the rare occasion you need more room. Plenty of space for a buddy in the passenger seat if you want to drive somewhere local on the weekend, and have fun. Girlfriend instead? If she's willing to stay by you, marry her! Gold-diggers will not even sit in such a pragmatic car.

      Hello coco. I have had this car for 3 month now and it is amazing. It is super quick, easy to monuvur and is great on gas. The interior is beautiful too. It has a backup camera, turn by turn directions, a USB input and much much more. You can hook your phone up to it via Bluetooth and talk to your friends and family. It is unbelievable. it is a small car but I can use this as a work car. I can fit 8-foot 2x4's and all my tools: saw, impact driver, drill and a giant tool bag full of screws and wrenches.
      So, it is worth it. It is the less expensive car on the market with the greatest value.

      @@hizallmusic3438 The Mitsubishi Mirage is around the same price, more cargo room, better warranty, more reliable CVT programming, better mpg. The Spark looks nicer, faster, handles better, and has a way bigger dealer support network. I looked at both, but only the Mirage is allowed to use as an Uber vehicle, because it can technically seat 3 in the back, the Spark can only seat 2. MirageForum.com good source of data comparing the two vehicles.

    I love my '19 LS Spark, i added a removable Harbor Freight roof-rack with led light bar and spotlights in front, + add'l rear brake and turn indicators, hitch from UHaul, and tint all around. I drive a lot and pickup lumber from Lowes with no problems. Latest add on was a sun-visor with eyes like Disney/ Pixar "Cars" characters. One downside is my Apple CarPlay quit working, tho that's probably my bad. Overall, keeping mine til it's paid off or wrecked! I love mine and always get questions about it which is fun.

    Can confirm best car I've ever had!!!
    I still have it this was my first brand new car when I got it at had less than a hundred miles.
    I will say the biggest about having this carving this as I am not an average size person I am in fact a full-grown adult that is actually under 5 ft. But having this car makes me feel like an average person because I feel in complete control of the car and not like a little kid sitting on Dad's lap learning how to steer.
    If you're a above average size person and maybe cramped a comfortable but then maybe this car is not for you but it is definitely something I would recommend to our smaller stature humans

    I have a 2017 base model automatic with hand crank windows and everything and I love it. I think it’s a great little car to go around in. I just got my first oil change this week. I don’t put many miles on my car and still don’t have 4,000 miles on it yet. Now I can say that if you live in the mountains, you will probably find yourself needing to floor the gas in this car on occasion. I definitely do. I don’t really have a problem with it though and am pretty much used to it now. One funny thing my radio does is when I start the car, a lot of times it takes a few seconds to update the clock from when I last shut the car off. I don’t know if this is due to the cellular network clock or what. I am about tempted to switch it to the traditional clock and find out. I wonder if that would happen too with this one since it seems to run a different firmware. I also find the removal of the aux port on this one kinda funny. Everyone seems to be going down that path these days and I don’t understand it. Mine still has the aux port though. I can say the USB port on mine at least is kinda a slow charger like most car USB ports are. I’m about ready to put an adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter just in case. That would be fine for me since most of my in car music comes from the regular radio. I wonder if that type-c port is any faster.

      Not bad, you must be a hypermilling expert. Keeping the rpm to 2000, the AC on low or off. If I do that in my 3cyl Mitsubishi Mirage I can hit 50 mpg, but thats rare considering how fast you have to drive to keep up on American freeways.

      @@kylemas2005 we drive pretty normally. We live on the east coast, where highway speeds are slower than out west. 80% of our driving is on highways, which helps. We live in a relatively rural area, so we rarely get stuck in traffic. And I have a 5 speed, which, contrary to the EPA, gets significantly better mileage than my daughter's CVYT Spark, no matter who drives which car. I have never been able to 50 mpg for any distance, but I suspect that I could if I kept it to 55 mph like back in the 80's. But who is going to do that! But I have never averaged anything less than 41 mpg, and that was with a canoe on top of the car!

    • @kylemas2005
      @kylemas2005 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@clydeosterhout1221 The 5speed Spark sounds like a fun runabout! One key thing though about your kid's CVT version. I have the exact same JATCO CVT7 unit in my Mirage. Its great at saving money on gas but its delicate as hell. I cant stress putting fresh OEM CVT fluid in it every 30k miles at a dealership, it'll run you about $240 a pop but its worth it to extend the life of her transmission. If you go on the Spark message forum you'll read alot of gripes about folk's CVT crapping out on them at 40 -60k miles because they weren't dilligent about preventative maintenance. With that said, the highest mileage vehicle Ive seen with this CVT was 175k. These units just dont go much beyond that like the old automatic transmissions unfortunately.

      @@kylemas2005 I love my Spark. My wife loves her Mirage (5 speed, 45 mpg). We tolerate each other's cars. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. My Spark is quicker and handles better. Her Mirage is bigger and the ride is more comfortable. My Spark is structurally stronger, her Mirage's turning circle is incredibly small. They are both good cars. For us. I suspect that most other people would like something bigger, tho four of us, all adults, rode in our Mirage for 8 hours to Upstate NY without discomfort.
