    Finally someone who shows me how to disguise the double whammy of puffy bags and sunken blue circles! Thank you a thousand times over.

    • @kerrylou3
      @kerrylou3  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You are welcome! If you have blueish color to your circles, you could try a peachy light tone. If you ever go to Sephora, they will actually give you a little sample of makeup in a little pot, you have to ask though ;-)

      The closest Sephora is 60 miles from me. We do have an Ulta, so I’ll try there. I have used the NYX color corrector, but I used it for the dark circle, not the puff. Your demonstration shows how to do it properly. Again, thank you.

    My goodness Kerry-Lou! I have just written a comment on your No Make-up Make-up video about my eye bags and Voila this video appeared like magic. 😉 Yes lifestyle choices are an issue to be worked on too.
    I think I should invest in some of these products and make-up and, hang-it, I should be grateful I no longer have a grumpy husband to criticise me for wearing make-up or complain about the money spent. I love your genuine and friendly style as well as your soothing voice, thank you, Yvette, Australia💖

    Kerry-Lou, you are a Godsend! I've had suitcases under my eyes since childhood & been ill for 25 years, so imagine how overstuffed & stretched to max capacity they are now. Thankfully my husband doesn't think or want me to have the surgery. I hope the great make-up tips help. Thank you so much! (I see we are a growing grateful community & hope a lot more of it comes your way! You are just lovely!)💜

    I’ve found using a soft facial massage brush to do lymphatic drainage is the best treatment. I first brush my collar bones, then jawline towards the ears, front and back of the ears, always gently brushing downwards to the collarbone. Then I gently brush around the top and bottom of my eyes, brushing towards temples, down to jawline and collarbone. I do this every morning and it really helps my 67 year old eyes. Facial massage with oils is also very good, but I do that in the evening if my face is puffy. I’ll definitely try your makeup tips!

    Kerry Lou, thank you so much for this very helpful tutorial. Though I try and try, and moisturize well, my skin is so creepy that the result leaves me with a wrinkly mess. I don't think I've found the holy grail products to give me the results I long for with my 63 year old skin. Your results are stunning and you are so lovely.

      You are so welcome!, thank you. If you go to Sephora on a day when they are not so busy, they are often willing to let you try different concealers, and some of their makeup artists will even make you up a small sample. They are very good at taking returns also, (I usually just say I had an allergic reaction to make the return simpler) Good luck!

    Great topic! My biggest issue is menopausal insomnia. It's so difficult sometimes to get enough of sleep. I recently started Tai Chi and QiGong for relaxation. Sometimes just watching the video routine helps destress. 😊 I have very sensitive eyes too so there are very few products I can use without causing puffiness and bloodshot eyes. 🙄 It's a constant struggle. Hi, would you say that the different between the two colours is one or two shades? I am thinking of doing two shades lighter for the lower part but am not sure if that's overkill.
    I currently use the Tarte Shape Tape Ultra Creamy concealer.

    This was very helpful to me. I sleep on my left side, and every morning I wake up my right eye is swollen and puffy. It drives me crazy. I have a gua sha and will have to start using it in the morning. I knew about the lymphatic system. But I don’t understand why one side and not both, or the one I sleep on? The body is a strange object. I know mine is. I’m going to try that as soon as my eye heals. I had some skin tags removed and the one on my eyelid, which was big, hasn’t quite healed all the way. And I had a small one on the bottom one my left eye. That one is healed. But I don’t have as much trouble with that side. This was great to find out. I’m going to be buying some darker concealer. Thank you for all your great videos.

    • @kerrylou3
      @kerrylou3  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Pam, thanks for your comment. I am naturally a side sleeper, but I try to sleep face up at least to begin my night sleep, as it is much better for your face 😁. I really think the Gua Sha tool will be good for your problem. The good news is, the puffiness on your left eye sounds like it’s definitely fluid, not fat which is much more difficult to get rid of. just go very gently, as the lymphatic system doesn’t respond well to heavy pressure, keep it feather light. i’ll try to make the Gua Sha tool video very soon😉 💕

    Hi Kerry-Lou.. I have done as you stated, and either I'm doing it wrong or my under eye bags are just to puffy. So I have been looking into under eye tightners like Peter Thomas Roth, and Clarins Paris Total Eye lift . I recently got small sample of these both at Sephora. I am wondering if you have ever tried these and if so which would you recommend OR do you not recommend using eye lifts at all. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

    great timing. I am 63. I don’t have dark discoloration of the skin under my eyes. My diet isn’t perfect but I seldom indulge in salty or junk food. But very recently concealers (high end and drug store quality) cause instant “pooling” of fluid under my eyes that make a much greater shadowy trough that wasn’t as pronounced before I applied concealer. I use very light shades and no matter what I do I get this sudden much deeper trough and can’t make it go away or disguise it without making it worse. This doesn’t happen when I just use foundation…only when I use concealer. It’s as if the concealer is too emollient? I would like my under eye area to be slightly lighter than my foundation which is why I try concealer but I need to avoid this pooling effect. Lately I just use foundation and only place a small amount of concealer in the inner corner of my eye toward the small trough and I don’t get the added pooling. I am guessing that is the same as using 2 different concealer shades as you demonstrated. But I also think the consistency of concealer is part of the problem for me. Oh the challenges of aging!

    • @kerrylou3
      @kerrylou3  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment - I would say that if you are happy using the foundation under the eye, continue to do so. The concealers might be too emollient as you suggest. If you go to a high end department store, or sephora, they will give you a sample IF you ask, (they often don't volunteer lol!) That way you can try different types without wasting your money.

    • @MusicLover-sb7mo
      @MusicLover-sb7mo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kerrylou3 Thank you for the in-depth response and for the tip about asking for a sample! I did buy Kosas concealer at Sephora. I wasn’t thrilled with the suggested shade match as it was definitely too yellow, but we found another shade that was more neutral (1.5). And…it makes my under eye pool too. So…foundation with a touch of concealer in just the inner corner, upper trough still works best. But I will definitely ask for samples in department stores moving forward. Very helpful.

      Hi Elena, sorry for the delay. I usually wear a very light foundation, so it can go over the lower eyelid area gradually fading until I get to the lash line. If you wear a full coverage foundation, they can be a bit thick for under the eyes, so go with your concealer over your regular eye cream, (let the eye cream sink in a bit first) good luck!

      Yes it is! Also, I've been testing out a primer from Paula's choice - rstyle.me/+Q5DqdZ6hvYCzHYCPRAhACA it's very smoothing and moisturizing, this would be applied under the foundation, although the Ilia is fine form most people without additional primer. Good luck!

    Oh sorry, missed the BobbiBrown … I used to use the one in the brown compact and found it incredibly dry- but stayed in place really well (usually why I avoided cream concealers) but now that I’m older….?! Maybe.

    I have serious bags under my eyes and some days I look really awful. It seems they are created from fat pads and nothing really will help unless I have surgery (not going to happen). I just wish there was something to help me not look so tired all the time. I am so sick of the looks and the questions about how tired I am. Thanks for your demonstration. Your bags are quite small I must say, almost can't even see them.

    • @kerrylou3
      @kerrylou3  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's very annoying when people say "Are you tired?" Especially when you're not, and your having a perfectly wonderful day! I just say, "No, this is my face" Make sure you have decent lighting around your bathroom mirror. Bad lighting can really get us off to a bad start to the day! I hope you try this method, you don't have to use the concealer I'm using, the main thing is to use the light and dark shades. All the best to you!

      Kathy, we're in the same boat. Much love to you! 💜I want the surgery but my husband doesn't want me to take the risk b/c of my post-surgical infection history. He's a sweetheart! I'm lucky he still loves me despite how sick I look. I don't even go anywhere if I don't have to. 😥

      So sorry that you are experiencing such pain. My surgeon told me that having the bags removed is very traumatic to the eyes and the bleeding can be extensive. It scared me so I said no thanks. I did have the upper lids done because of it interferring with my vision but it didn't come out the way I wanted. They still sag. @@holly0297

    Hi Kerry Lou, I am quite fair with neutral/cool leaning undertones. What do you think about the pinky/peachy toned brightening concealers for use in the same areas you used the lightening shade? Elf has a new one out that is kind of like the YSL Touche Eclat but a bit thicker and with more coverage. Plus it is only $5. I've just tried it and I've had mixed results but I am going to try it with a darker shade where you suggest and see how that works.

    • @kerrylou3
      @kerrylou3  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that the Touch Eclait, has a sheen to it, which I’m not sure would work on the puff of the eye. I will check out the elf version, and see what I think. Thank you! 😘
