"We Don't Need The Memories"
Hinata and Kageyama needed the bitter memory of their quick attack being defeated by Aoba Johsai at the end of the first season in order to defeat the Twins' quick attack in that final battle. Karasuno's always moving forward, but they don't forget where they came from and how hard they had to struggle to get where they are. Man, all the stories that this match tells! So good!
You didnt understand their banner at all LOL
Here's a cool POV to look at haikyuu: this show spent 2 seasons building up it's most compelling antagonist on the premise that you can't do anything about natural talent, only to spend the next 2 seasons breaking it down: first by karasuno beating shiratorizawa (from the concrete,) and then with Kita. Whhiiccchh is all happening while Karasuno literally spends two seasons perfecting the their quick only to break it down at the end of s4
OMGTHAT is a great POV to look at the show from!
“This angle. This position. This timing. It’s perfect!”
Remember those lines from the end of season 1?
hinata is SUCH an amazing protagonist. hes a character you really want to root for, and one that i am always proud of. who knew that id be crying happy tears from watching an anime boy play volleyball....
They really had us in the first 4 seasons with that ngl haha
Hinata went from just wanting to spike to loving every aspect there is in volleyball and wanting to perfect it all 😭😭😭😭 I’m with Suga 🤧🤧🤧
Suga proud parent moment ;A; literally me watching the series
Haikyu Review: "Crap, I think I might cry"
"How can it get better than this?" Haikyuu is honestly the gift that keeps on giving. We are not ready !!!!
tsukki's monologue at the end is what gets me. he really brought it home with that, it's perfect
This the first time i was cheering for the opponent team...miya atsumu is just too good...
"How can it get better then this" 😁ooohhh boy you ain't READY it only gets better from here
I've said before that this match is one of my favorites, and it's because not only is it intense and chill-inducing, it ties so much of Hinata's development in the ball boy arc to its conclusion. It also brings Tsukki's development over the previous two seasons in with Hinata's; we see them trusting each other, working together. Nishinoya conquers the over-handed set demon; Tanaka takes those risks. Asahi crushes a pivotal kill. I could go on, but Takeda's idea of the cogs working really manifests itself fully here. For me, Hinata is the MVP of this match, but you could easily say that Kageyama is too. Their influence kept those cogs going, even in moments of pure exhaustion, even in the moments when the team needed a second to breathe and reset. Sometimes, those moments where we reset, breathe, and "take it easy" are the ones that bring us the most clarity, the biggest breakthroughs in our understanding of ourselves. Hinata's time as a ball boy, a time where he wasn't permitted to play on the court, was the reset of his understanding of his role and what he could do.
I could say more, but it'd be a book, lol. I can't wait for your reaction to episode 25, and hopefully, we'll all know soon about s5, because it's going to be epic.
The way this match plays of the things we've already been through with Karasuno is PERFECT!
" Comfort anime " they said...
Is almost getting asthma attack, anxiety and stress Everytime final score on the board is calming, then yes. This show is my comfort anime.
.
The way the screen goes DARK and when it's Hinata part it's go BRIGHT, that's was sooooooo good !! Anxiety all over XD.
.
There someone said that the final point karasuno vs inarizaki is like how aoba johsai block karasuno in season 1.
.
If someone ask me who my favorite MC, definitely Hinata Shoyo. His dedicated is just 👌🏻. Imagine you fall in love with that one sport and still love it even when no one join your team until your last year. He even lost his first match in middle school and he still doesn't give up till the end.
Phenomenal episode with your great reaction!
I liked the references you can get from Tsukki’s dialogue “Speed is a very, very cool weapon. It’s very charming and cool. But it’s not invincible. They knew that a little better than everyone else.”
Coach Ukai said in Season 1 Ep 17 “Your quicks are powerful weapons. But they aren’t invincible”.
Inarizaki’s defeat through Miya resorting to the weirdo quick as their final move is a great juxtaposition to Karasuno’s defeat against Aoba Johsai back in Season 1.
Now, Karasuno won through blocking the weirdo quick (and first time winning a match through blocking?) just like Oikawa figured out Kageyama will resort to their freak quick in S1, hence Karasuno’s defeat.
I like how it all circled back to the pivotal moments in Season 1. Therefore, it’s able to highlight a great depth of Karasuno’s development throughout the show. Great use of parallels in the plot - it was well-written
18:13 "Noya Noya Noya Noya..." and 19:30 "Tsukki?"
I wish you guys were paying attention. 😂 Tsukki is serving, so he can't block. And Noya only subs in for Tsukki and Hinata because they're the weakest receivers. Since Tsukki is serving, that means Noya is on the bench.
The final rally was INSANE. We got the intense back and forth, then Hinata's high pass, Tsukki going all out just to tip the ball up enough for Daichi's insane return and to cap it off, the double block by Hinata and Kageyama against their own minus back freak quick.
Hinata's development in S4 is really awesome. The receive against Aran's spike and that high pass really makes the first year camp training arc so great.
We got so caught up in the moment that we totally forgot lol! S4 really is a Hinata season ^^
@@AoAReacts Practically every reactor I've watched yelled "Noya!" during that insane rally so I could understand 😂 I think there was only one reactor who realized that Noya wasn't on the court.
I'm so excited..regardless of the outcome this match was epic
First time commenting and I love the reactions and analysis that you guys give. One of the things I've loved about Haikyuu, as a whole leading up to THIS specific episode, is that it put a lot of things in perspective from an athlete's standpoint. From hitting your own personal limit, breaking beyond that limit, the up's and downs. From nearly giving up to achieving something you never thought possible. To looking at the future and passing on the torch once the time has come. I trained for 8 year of my life and earned a Black-belt, I started training at 16 and achieved it when I turned 24. When I felt like I hit that ceiling I honestly thought I was done and lost my drive. Then I realized I wanted to pass on what I had learned for the next generation, so I started teaching and loved every moment of it. I eventually felt it was time to move to the next phase of my life and earn my degree, currently in my last year at 29. For a long time, I NEVER thought a sport anime would hit me this hard; but I'm SO glad that I watch Haikyuu. And, to me, I feel you guys are really spot on in your takes. This episode was really amazing and all the details were awesome. From the narrowing vision when the pace picked up on the final point, to Hinata lighting up the court with his toss. The music hit at the end as well. Sorry to ramble anyone who reads this, that's my bad 😅. I can't wait till next season, it's gonna be 🔥.
This match is easily one of my favorite matches in the series, beaten only by the upcoming Battle of the Garbage Dump and a match that happens near the end of the series. I enjoy it that much
Also the observation that Hinata can control the rhythm of the game is wow - i think it’s accurate!
EDIT: I am truly grateful that I got to watch this with you guys even after all my previous Haikyuu rewatch marathons. The energy that this episode gave me was immeasurable, and I can assure you that you won't ever be able to pick between all the matches in the future.
The parallels that the end of this match had with the end of Karasuno's defeat against Seijoh and Oikawa in Season 1 was phenomenal. The fact that the two people who the freak quick revolved around were the same two who stopped a near exact copy of their own attack to win this insane level game, was by far one of the most chilling experiences I've ever had sitting down in front of my laptop staring at a medium-sized screen.
Some of my favourite things about this episode was, obviously, the point that they scored right at the end, and I swear I bawled my eyes out because WHY did they have to put the win from Kita's perspective???? I wanna cry again. This is ridiculous, I could have saved myself a whole box of tissues.
Other parts were when Kageyama and Hinata did that crazy high quick, and Atsumu was saying how Kags had his condolences because Hinata is one hell of a scary partner.
The reason he said that was, if you're not entirely sure, that Hinata isn't actually trusting in Kags himself to bring him the ball, unlike the start of Haikyuu. If you rmb, from Season 1, when they did the freak quick for the first time, Hinata was about to jump out of his skin in excitement because the ball touched his palm and he scored a point. Kags asked him why he closed his eyes and he answered that he couldn't help looking at the ball if he had his eyes open, so he closed them, and Kags interpreted it as Hinata trusting him 100% to get the ball to him. And he did, essentially, at that point of time. It was only during the 2nd season when they had that fight and they both tried to get better, that Hinata opened his eyes to watch the ball when they were doing their freak quick. They rebuilt that attack from the ground up, and it was at that point of time that Hinata started believing that the ball would come to him no matter what (I'm assuming because he was told by Grandpa Ukai that he is the one with the initiative in a quick attack), instead of believing Kags as his setter. Even if it hadn't been Kags, and just another setter talented enough (like Atsumu) to give him the set he wants, he would have kept the same belief when attacking. Because of this belief, Atsumu dubs Hinata as a scary partner because, really, what setter wouldn't be, if one of their spikers just demands sets at the rate and timing which Hinata does? At times where they would usually let the ball sail over to the other side because of a bad pass, Hinata jumps up fully thinking "The ball is gonna come here so I'm in position to hit." It would most definitely be insanely difficult to keep up with Hinata as his setter, though not impossible, which is why only those with the right resolve and bravery can do it.
Okay that was one hell of a long explanation, but I hope that this makes it easier for ppl to understand that scene? Cause I didn't really get it until I watched it ten more times and read the manga LOL.
Another scene that I love is the one where Tsukki was blocking Suna from Inarizaki with the crazy wide contact point (I'm assuming that his waist is really flexible to allow him such movement oof). He says that if he could block Suna, the whole team would probably freak, but he knows he isn't at that level yet, so he chooses to leave the hit for Hinata to dig, which, imo, was some top level decision making on Tsukki's part. As Kuroo said in one of the previous episodes, not everyone would do that even if they know it's a better decision to make. The impulse to block is too strong for a blocker sometimes.
I have so many other things that I love, but I'll save you both yet another long-winded rant HAHAHHAH.
Thank you for the reaction, I was surprised that y'all were still alive by the end of the episode, with the amount of heart attacks and asthma attacks y'all nearly got throughout LMAO.
I can't wait for the finale of Season 4, lead up to the next season is gonna fking hype and emotional!!
this and one other match alter in the manga are my favorite matches of THE WHOLE SERIES. inarizaki is just fucking amazing and i love both teams so much. and even though IMO inarazaki is the winner by FAR, the other matches are so fucking good. haikyuu NEVER MISSES!
Inarizaki is such an incredible team, this game is so amazing. It's like your heart is going to jump off your chest 😭😭
I also love how Hinata's and Kageyama's past hardships with their quick attack being stopped and shut down were the key for this win. They knew exactly what they were doing in that last block and that's all because it was done to them back in other game.
Also, I say it all the time, but it always gets me how bold the twins are to use a weapon against the ones who created it. They're so courageous for that
Excited for all of us to see season 5 soon! It’s gonna be epic!
Absolutely nail-biting.
Everyone was incredible, but I gotta give special recognition to Hinata.
I never missed your reviews & commentaries after the show. It was exciting to learn about your perspective. Me myself already amazed with Haikyuu on how realistic the game play (which i experienced it as well) & i easily relate those thoughts, ideas, views, opinions from the anime & from both of you. Tq
Thank you, that means a lot!
BRUH I NEED TO GO TO SCHOOL IN LIKE, HALF AN HOUR NOOO- Guess I have no choice but to come back and watch it after the premiere fml😩
you will be missed soldier
Kate Yama is absolutely the overall MVP, he was the most consistent and super on point the entire match. Hinata was mental MVP tho and 2nd place for overall MVP to me
omg, it's 3:am and I have work in the morning but HERE WE GOOOO!!
Nothing but respect for you Suga!
@@AoAReacts all the love guys thank you for the wonderful reactions ❤
3:25, and that timing, that angle
Amazing reaction!! 👍🔥
Thank you!
dang nabbit I missed the live reaction😭 I knew I would forget! I’m setting an alarm for tomorrow for ep 25. I’ll be back Ian & Isaiah, ok? ok!😂
Hello! Love your reactions as always! Just a question, are you going to upload the "podcast" about Haikyuu after episode 25 in your other channel? Just like what you guys did in the past seasons? Coz I'm really looking forward to it! I watched all of your podcast about Haikyuu in these past months! ☺️
Yes!
If Hinata tried to jump serve right there he would probably nail kageyama on the head
Why is it that we kinda would've been ok with that a little...? hehe
Let's go!!!
Still hope u guys react to haikyuu manga since haikyuu anime is not like other Shounen with quick adaptation
To me Inarizaki is the best match in the entire manga. No fat, everybody gets their moment and so many incredible scenes.
People love Karasuno's next match a lot, I wasnt as much of a fan.
The only ones that might also be my 1st are Shiratorizawa and the last match in the manga
I don't know if you guys watch it but I do recommend black clover. The protagonist has a mind set and attitude very similar to Hinata (never give up). The first 10 episodes can be hard to watch for some , due to the Asta's VA screaming most lines but it amazing!!
sorry if this was already asked but will either of you be doing a manga reaction picking up from here? or just wait for season 5? either way can't wait for your reactions!
Just waiting for it to be animated.
It’s crazy to me that the next three games are at least as good if not better than this one.
first.
I love your reactions so much and I'm excited to hear you'll be doing a deep dive into the whole season because when it wraps up officially, I'm sure your thoughts would be great.
This was one of my favorite episodes because we see just how good Karasuno actually is, and how their teamwork plays such a huge part in their success.
I think in the Manga when Hinata has Kageyama get the ball towards the beginning, we see that the rest of the team is prepared for it to be free all for Inarizaki but Hinata forces Kageyama to set instead. Which didn't seem to be the original plan.
Tsukishima and Hinata's dynamic is a great highlight because they know better than anyone how good the other is because they went to the same camp and it was nice to see them rely on each others talent.
I also enjoy the callback to the Seijoh Match from S1. Kageyama and Hianta were prepared because they knew The Twins would rely on the quick like they did. It shows how far they've both come.
Hinata remembering to "Take it Easy" is a way of finally showing that he's his own capable player on the court now. Not only was he the only one not rushing, but he was aware of his team and what they needed, he wasn't just focused on himself and scoring/spiking.
This was such a callback heavy episode, Haikyuu is so good at making small moments show up again in such an extraordinary fashion.
