It's hard to believe that he is completely gone from the series if he was capable of so much... Maybe when Jun comes back there will be some insight on what Ogre truly was.
Ogre was the (Inca or something) God of fighting. Using it's supposed essence, Heihachi probably had his team make a clone of it. And because it was just that, a clone, Jin was able to defeat it (or maybe his Devil gene kicked in) and it got destroyed because of Jin's relentless assault. Jun knew it was a malevolent force because it wasn't a pure life form. Like her, Ogre gained a lot of abilities from various fighters it defeated. With the retcon of Jun in Tekken 8, we can presume she didn't die and managed to escape and was left for dead instead.

In the tekken 3 story.. the characters you mentioned all went missing. How? Likely killed or consumed by ogre..but they came back to life in tekken 5 because of failure of tekken 4 I believe?
@@daedrascrolls Yes. Oddly enough, he also some moves from Armor King and Anna Williams, both of whom were clearly alive and present (Anna even being playable) during the time of Tekken 3. I suppose we could overlook these inconsistencies by imagining that Ogre got those moves by attacking other unknown martial artists who practiced similar fighting styles. After all, in TTT2, Ogre and True Ogre have even more moves from existing characters, many of whom appeared in the series after Ogre was already 'killed' (such as Bob, Marduk, etc.).
I always wondered what that "pose" move did in Tag 2, and it's apparently some kind of counter I guess. I strongly believe that Ogre was done dirty by the writing team. **Copy Paste of Tekken/Ogre/Jun hidden lore** There is a lot of evidence to suggest that Ogre was originally intended to be THE physical manifestation of the devil, or at least, its source. Basically, he was supposed to play the same role as 'Azazel' before Azazel popped up into the story (though it is interesting to note that in T6's scenario campaign, Julia Chang remarks about how similar Azazel and his aura are to Ogre; she even mistakes them for being one and the same). Also, despite Ogre's primary appearance being in T3, his debut was kinda built up in the prior games. Even in T1, Heihachi (and Kunimitsu) was after the pendant in Michelle's possession (that we would learn in T3 was the same artifact that was used to awaken Ogre). Then in T2, Kazuya ALSO was after the pendant. So evidently, Heihahci and Kaz knew about Ogre even waaay before T3. The reason for this must have to do with Ogre's connection to the devil gene. In T4, it is revealed that Kazuya was resurrected by G Corp after being tossed into the volcano. This means that Kazuya was alive and well during the events of T3, although he was technically in hiding. If Ogre was teleporting around the globe and attacking the greatest of martial artists, it stands to reason that he may have had an encounter with Kazuya at some point as well (it would also explain why Ogre has some of his moves). I even have a theory, that is backed up by several of the assumed 'non-canon' ending sequences of TTT1, that suggests that Kazuya actually appeared and fought against Ogre after the creature had already defeated Jun. Kazuya transforms into Devil and Ogre transforms into his true form, and the two battle, with lasers and fire turning the surrounding area to ash (as seen in True Ogre's TTT1 ending). The fight ends with a draw, with Ogre being warded off. Kazuya then approaches the unconscious, fatally wounded Jun and scoops up her body (as seen in Devil's TTT1 ending) and takes her with him back to G Corp. He ignores his unconscious son, Jin, left under a pile of rubble because he either doesnt realize he is there or he did not yet realize his importance. While this specific scenario is based off of the TTT1 endings, there is actual information to go by that points towards Jun's body being located at G Corp. T5's side game, Devil Within, begins with opening text that states that after the events of T4, Jin made a journey to G Corp because he 'heard that his mother was still alive'. Logically, the only one belonging to G Corp who would be invested enough in Jun Kazama would be Kazuya himself. So why would Kaz save her from Ogre and bring her back with him to G Corp? Perhaps a twofold reason stemming from his internal conflict; on the one hand, he may have some reserved emotional attachment to her and may even wish to revive her in the same way G Corp revived him, but on the other hand, he may simply be interested in the effects that her 'Kazama blood' holds over the devil gene (he does after all, angrily remark about about 'Kazama blood' running through Jin's veins during his T4 ending). Back to Ogre; anybody who has played through T5's Devil Within minigame is probably aware that it literally advertises itself as 'revealing the unholy origins of the devil gene' right on the back of the game box. That being said, despite the reasoning for Jin's adventure being the search for Jun, instead of finding his mother, he instead runs into some bizarre experiments (such as four Heihachi clones) as well as the discovery that the G Corp labs were actually built over an ancient temple, housing Ogre, of all things. When encountering Ogre, the game states that Jin's devil gene begins flaring up, further indicating a link between the two. Of course, Jin defeats Ogre in his underground temple, and then chases him further down into a massive ancient, crystalline alien structure (possibly a spaceship of some sort). In their final confrontation, Ogre transforms again into a massive dragon (strongly resembling Azazel, even possessing nearly identical animations and attacks such as multi-projectiles, teleporting, and whirlwinds). Jin wins again (of course) and Ogre collapses. Jin goes full devil, blacks out, and wakes up outside somewhere. Nothing explained. Or at least, that's how it seems now, as this plot thread has been seemingly all but abandoned ever since. I could go into the likelihood of Ogre/devil being the spirit who possessed Jinpachi, but it's kind of a moot point now, as 'officially', it was just some random evil spirit who brought Jinpachi back to life. Sure. Even though T6 retconned Ogre's original purpose, it still at least alluded to him having a connection to Azazel via Julia's dialogue, though things still remain inconclusive. It is quite clear that the writing team behind the series has completely forgotten and/or lost interest in the backstory and lore, with the constant retcons and lazy storytelling. A shame. I would say that now, officially, it could be that Ogre is ONE of the sources of the 'devil gene', with Azazel being another, and perhaps there are more besides them as well. If we look at the real world influence behind the name of Azazel, we can see that he is based off of a Judeao-Christian fallen-angel, that according to certain sects within those religions, was one of many fallen angels who fell to earth in ancient times and interbred with mankind, while also teaching them all manner of wickedness as well as being worshipped as gods. The offspring of these fallen angels with humans are often referred to as the 'nephilim', and they were essentially half-human, half-demon hybrids with great power (these Nephilim are compared to the ancient gods/demigods/chimeras/and various other creatures of mythology). Although these specific fallen angels were said to have been sealed away by God, it is believed that during the 'end of days', some of these fallen angels will be released from their dimensional prison and usher in the apocalypse. So Ogre is probably just another fallen angel, like Azazel. Interestingly, Ogre happens to play a big role in a couple of the more 'recent' spinoff games; Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken Mobile. In the former title, it is revealed that the Pandora's Box artifact that the game revolves around is actually an alien device meant for Ogre to use to return 'home', and when he uses it, he learns that he is a biological weapon created to gather info on the earth for a future alien invasion. In Tekken Mobile, Ogre only appears as an NPC during the game's ending were it is revealed that 'Revenant', the game's final boss, has been working for him the entire time in order to prepare for 'the return of the gods'. So yeah, it is pretty clear they have no idea what they are doing with Ogre. One minute everything makes sense and then the next they simply forget about it and throw in a bunch of retcons. Not sure this plot thread will ever be cleared up.
