“They're just robots Morty! It’s OK to shoot them, There robots!” Honestly I think this is the only time that I don’t mind the Ogres being robots. I think that’s what makes this show so unique. It makes me wonder, what kind of robot manufacture creates robots that appear as organic creatures and life forms. We’ve seen this kind of thing with the metal eater family.
True. In cases like this one kinda feels like the ogres weren't meant to be robots, but they had to make them robots for censorship reasons. But honestly, I think the censorship was positive for the show. Forced Genndy to be more creative in order to make the story interesting. The new season was pretty bad, I believe cause it was too focused on blood and violence to tell the audicence ''This is an ADULT show now!''
@@yurilouback6331 I feel like it did the transition well, considering the limited number of episodes. It focused on Jack's perceived failure, the loss of his sword, AND the blood and violence because of the effect all those things were having on his mental state. It wasn't just 'add blood to make the show more awesome.'
Back then, I've always wondered about how some of the villains Jack fights have skin, but are robots in disguise. Even during the episode where Scotsman returns, Jack was fighting multiple alien like bounty hunters (not attempting to use the sword to kill them), then Scotsman came in with a bomb, exploding the bar while saying out of nowhere they were bounty hunter robots. I just love this show. 😂
Well yeah, back then Cartoon network had a weird rule that allowed violence to be as brutal as possible but with the condition of being no blood So literally everything chopped on screen, had to be a robot (most of the times.) Blood was replaced with oil, cables instead of guts and so on Speaking of the scotsman episode:well yeah I guess he had to say that the bounty hunters are robots in order for Cartoon network to avoid having literally people blown on screen But yeah it's still funny :)
One speculation I have is that Aku turns people into Robots/Androids on request as a form of reward, or because Aku wanted easy to control soldiers. However this kinda backfired as it made Jack able to be more deadly when he dealt with these minions to Aku, which Aku figured out at season 5...Hence sending living beings in order to shock Jack, but also to force Jack to hold back.
I don't think he's ever tried to reason with robot enemies he's faced. The only enemies he DID try to reason with and give them a chance to leave is was the daughters of Aku when he learned that they weren't robots.

I'd like to Imagine this baby grew up to be a general of a rebel group against Aku's forces. He remembers Jack as the man who made the Bad things go away and was his reason his whole life to do good and fight like a warrior.
It makes you feel how crappy and dishonest parents are about child raising, but then the baby learns samurai so you actually get a feeling of satisfaction out of what jack did.
Almost all of Jack's enemies are robots. No matter how organic and alive they seem. And the rest are evil spirits and demonic entities. Only in the last season was really explicit content seen with enemies that were alive.
Of course they are robots and spirits because of the rating that the show had in the first four seasons! They were a few instances as well, where the enemies were actually living beings but had to be defeated in a different or censored way. For example the giant yeti from the mountain monks episode that was squashed by a giant icicle.
I think that blow was a warning to stop. In fact, he is on the defensive at the beginning of the fight until it becomes clear to Jack that those ogres were not going to stop.
They really shouldn't have made this the fourth season finale, but hey, not that it makes it a terrible episode to begin with. I don't remember ever seeing a terrible episode to this entire show ever. *Yes, I'm basically not a Season 5 hater.* Anyways, Jack sure will be one heckuva father, regardless if we end things on the aforementioned Season 5, the Battle Through Time video game set after it, or the IDW comic books that came before.
I mean yeah they should'nt have. They even stated that themselves. Since work on Clone wars began, Genndy stated that he didn't know what to do with Jack, and also didn't want a rushed ending (a bit ironic, right?) so he made 4 more "traditional" episodes and then left it that way, with the hope of returning one day to finnish it.
I remember when Genndy or some other guy from his crew (not sure which) joked about what happened to the baby saying " that would be a great reboot"or something like that I don't remember exactly It was in the season 5 announcement interview I think.
Never read it myself but I heard that he briefly shows up (as in a cameo) in the comics as a grown warrior with the alternate ending where all of Jack's allies fight Aku and Jack stays in the future.
This is the last fight scene we saw in Samurai Jack until 13 years later.
At least it was pretty good
We should have seen how the baby grew up and became a warrior. Trully a missed opportunity in the final season.
@@Igyzone
Final season was rushed imo
Technically, those years were just mere seconds as Jack returned to defeat Aku in their first fight.
Jack had been alive for 50 further years after this episode. The baby would have been an older man by the time of the end of the series.
