just ran across. Subtle! Impressive! After owning 3) 100/6s & 2) 3000's (63 - 82) then going to 4 drs with car seats, am now thinking am never too old for this here in So. Calif. My son is into 4whl drive trucks, breaks my heart!
Just revisited, saw head bolt cover caps in video, years ago found that chrome caps used on old Ford flatheads fit perfectly. Too, Knew then that reversing polarity to Neg increased proficiency by %17, and used alternator, Tach from MGC (6 cyl) Neg ground, Likely hard to find these days.
Well done. I bought a 1966 BJ8 when I was 23. Almost 42 years later I'm still driving HBJ8L 32417. One day I will give it to my son. (in another 20 years or so) The car cost me $1,500 in 1972.
Thank you for sharing. I feel fortunate to be able to touch a piece of what I grew up with that ties my father and I. Fathers day is a day of remembrance for a lot of us. Remember the good times. Cheers!
Cleverly thought out and nicely executed work. A very inspirational video. Thanks for posting. And I thought the cup holder I fitted to my XK140 Jaguar was a significant advancement. Back into the garage I go .... :-)
Very cool, stumbled upon this when looking for a functional solution for a cup holder for my toyota corolla from 77. The cup holder was a smart solution.
Really nice and nice history. I have also one, same colors in nice condition and I also expect that my sons can drive it in futur and will take care of it.
Hi LeoNobles. I think LeoNobles misread my description. I didn't say Bond drove an Austin Healey. (not spelled Healy). Bond's car's were Aston Martin's, Lotus Esprit's, Citroen 2 CV, Alfa Romeo and BMW's. All of Bonds car's had Q's extra features. My video just ran with Q's theme. I wish Bond drove a Healey in one of his movies!
Well, anyway, I think your Austin Healey is a much nicer looking car than the Aston Martin Bond drove in Goldfinger. A friend of mine has one similar to yours, but red. I love the body lines, the engine sound, everything. Nice treasure you have there.
Love the garage...love the car more...really thoughtful add on's...I trust you don't mind if "borrow" a few of your add on's. Sad to say I'll be applying them to a 69 GT6 Plus, not a Healy. Quality video is quite good as well. Cheers!
Dear Jackdbowe, the racing Healeys (Works cars) were very different from the production cars. Mine is an everyday driver, with some modern upgrade convenience items added. Hope that clears that (your) nonsense up for you. Cheers.
You did an amazing job of bringing that beauty into the modern era. I drove one of these in the 70s and still can only dream of owning one
Absolutely awsome restoration. You did your father proud.

Lovely, lovely car, tasteful and functional updates. Love it!
Spectacular and tasteful. Excellent mechanical/industrial design is art at it's highest level.
Very clean build.
Beautiful car! I love the add ons. Nice garage too.
Your dad would be very proud of you!

Wow! Great engine modifications - you made it sound like V8 flat head.
When you have a terrazzo floor in your garage, you know you've arrived.
Absolutely fabulous, you have done a super job, wish was mine !
love the car and the garage...wish mine was that organized =)

I like that word awesome. I incorporated it in my license plate as a play on words. Thank you for your kind words about my father.
Like the upgrades
What a beauty love this one
WoW. Impressive!
Don't be dissin a man's garage. That's our cave, our safe place. I know there's a compliment in there somewhere. Thank you!
Not just a garage, it's a garage with a terrazo floor.

Yes it does. We Brit car owners like to say our cars seep oil. The day you don't see an oil drop under your car, check your dip stick :)

what we don't got a secret cup holder :O but we have an secret radio in that place :P

How lucky are your sons!
rfchealey could you please tell me where you bought the dual cup holder and what is the part number? Thank you,.
Thank you for your kind words. I spend as much time in my garage, more sometimes, than other places in my house. Hey, it's a guy thing.
LOVE it!!!

It breaks the soul of the myth... Too bad !
Top car
Where did you get the cup holder? Very cool...
Does it drive? Love the cup holder.
Where did you source the cup holder?
@rfchealey the real bond realy drove a bentley
The Ayatollah approves of cars like this. I also miss my father...
B.E.A.utiful
If I was a rich man I would make you an offer so ridiculous you wouldn't turn it down. Gimme Gimme gimme.
Now why would someone go out and scratch their wheels. We do everything we can to avoid getting scratches.
James Bond drove an Aston Martin, not an Austin Healy.
