I drew these on notebooks during class in the 50's. IMHO the best-looking British sportscar ever designed. Better side profile than MG, Triumph or Jaguar. Perfect proportions. Perfect wheel cutouts. I'll take mine in silver, Thank You.
It's amazing how all the feelings and sounds stay with you. On your test drive, all the old sensations came back to me, which I had when driving my Healey 3000 MKI - that was about 40 years ago. Mine had the same side pipes too - great sound.
Thank you for watching and commenting. They are a very pretty thing... and in all colours, too. We always have Austin Healeys in our showroom, so you may enjoy browsing our website.
I have a 58 Austin Healey 100-6 BN6 that I drive every day as long its not raining. We take it out in the winter as long as there's no salt on the road. My father bought it new. Never been restored. Just replaced parts and worn out stuff as needed.
Thank you for this kind comment. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I am lucky indeed - we always have a Healey (or two, or three...) in our showroom. Have a look on our website, we have THREE at the moment!
Is this video about the car or the driver? The video is timed at approx. 9:30 and at least 50% was centered on the driver, plus a few glimpses of the steering wheel. Nice sweater, but do we need to see it for almost 5 minutes? I was sorta hoping there would be a few shots of THE CAR. Silly me.
Same thing paid $800 for my BJ7 in 79 drove it one year in Hollywood broke one shock absorber plate put it in storage for 35 years and now doing a full restoration . Just finished the welding.
Had to sell mine 50 years ago to pay for college tuition; still miss it today!

I hope you still have those notebooks stashed away somewhere. Thank you for watching and commenting.

My dad had a 59’ Healy that I learned to drive in when I was 15! That 3rd gear was long and tall! Many memories surrounding that car!😉
Happy this video brings back fond memories for you. Lucky you - what a great car to learn in!
1st car was an Austin Healey 1959 100-6, bought it for $900 in 1964, sold it for $700 in 1967. Wish I still had it!
We all know that feeling. But look at it another way... your first car was a legend!

Great to hear such cars are still being used regularly.

The car will fail an MOT as there are no anti slip rubbers on the pedals.....yes I know it doesn't have to have an MOT but......
paid $800 for my first 3000 mk1 paid $200 for a 100-6 1958 my second early 70's

That sounds fun. Great project! This car looks equally at home in our rural North Yorkshire as it does in Hollywood.
I could be wrong. The car doesn't have a heater? Why would AH sell cars without heaters?
It does looks similar to mgb one up on right looking u der bonnet on bulk head
True to say that lots of UK cars didn't have heaters as standard, until the 1960s
BJ8 carbs
Not enough headroom. You barely fit. Are you very tall ?
I'm 6'2" (188cm), so nice and snug in the Healey
too much toe out on front
