As of last night I can now say I’ve shot all 3 of these stocks but only seen the results so far of Lomo & Portra 400, Lomo gave me a lovely dreamy look that in the right setting is just luscious, Portra was just so clean & consistent tonally across the entire frame & I feel like could be used for pretty much anything
@@SophiaCarey I’d watched some Ribsy videos about best stocks for dark skin & that’s why I went for Pro 400H for the shoot I was doing, just hoping I’ve nailed the exposure as much as anything else because the lighting at the location wasn’t quite as bright as I was expecting
I picked up a box for like £50 the other day from Amazon, which works out cheaper than Portra at the moment! Just depends if you want to send more money to Amazon or not 🤣🤣
Why shoot film when you're looking for the exact representation of the subject from color accuracy, saturation, vibrance to sharpness.. You might as well shoot digital and save your time and money. My only reason for shooting film is to get the film aesthetic.
Thanks for this direct comparison. Definitely gave me a bit to ponder. BTW, 2:32 came out fire! 🔥
I hope you enjoyed it! Def just a video of my person opinions but hopefully it’s enjoyable to watch. And thank you so much!!

Really interested to see what you think of Fuji once you get your photos back! Completely agree re: the other two

Lomo 800 hits the sweet spot, even in harsh daylight. Try it.
Yes, I love Lomo 800! Haven’t used it in a while but it was my go to for a long while
Some great photos Sophia. It’s a strange one to think isn’t it, when you find a film stock you like but then end up tweaking photos in post.
Thank you! And absolutely haha! Kind of defeats the object in some cases 🤣🤣
He’s so handsome ❤
I might have missed it in the video, did you shoot all of them at box speed? Pro400H is essentially something of a 200 speed film for optimal results.
I think the correct answer is Kodak Gold 200 due to the price. It's like 95% portra ;)
Hahah completely agree 🤣 it pushes nicely too
Depends on where you are. Here, gold is just around 10$ cheaper than portra 400 (a pack of 5 120rolls).🤷🏻♂️
I’ve shot so much on Kodak Gold, initially got it just to test and then kept going back to it. That and CineStill 50D are probably my personal favs
I have yet to try 400h i could only imagine how much 1 roll would cost by now lmao

@@SophiaCarey with my luck my amazon package would arrive in pieces 😂
