At $9,000 for six batteries (based on the 2 free, $3,000 value battery promo) I would think a heavy duty lock should be on the battery door. It would suck to come back from lunch and find they had grown legs. Good presentation Jack!
So, you make the statement about this mill being environmentally friendly, where do you think the power comes from to charge this VERY expensive and relatively small sawmill? That electricity is generated from either a coal or diesel fired power plant in most cases. Some other issues are the raw materials to manufacture and recycling of these batteries, both are big environmental problems. I am all for alternative power sources but we are not there yet with the battery technology and support system that are available.
I mean, I have solar. It's not environmentally friendly, but I have more than offset the energy requirement to build my panels by now. I have now panels about a month ago and have produced over 1MW from them in my used, but never used, batteries also. I understand the argument you are making, but there are some exceptions to green being terrible for the environment. I hate when rich people drive electric cars and charge them using grid power that was generated by coal. It's just making you feel good about someone else doing your dirty work. It's like vegans lecturing you about not killing animals, but their diet plan requires huge farms that obliterate animals, their dens and take more of the old growth forests. The cruelty is just hidden from sight so that they can "feel" better than us. But again, I'm looking for an electric sawmill because I am a hippy, and it's so much easier from a maintenance perspective too, lol.
I was planning to purchase a sawmill tomorrow and remove the gasoline engine and replace it with a permanent magnet, DC motor. I already on the lithium batteries and my solar panels are quite powerful. I’m not going to be breathing gasoline exhaust when I am sawing wood.
great addition, look forward to seeing it in action,
Good job Jack I didn't see these at summer shows.
Mill narration take 212!!
It's never one take but you pulled it off! 🤣
As always, woodmizer is on the cutting edge, great idea and I'm sure other's will follow
Looks well done .

Congratulations man! I love Wood Mizer. My dreans life is lt15 wide. I am from Brasil.

Is there an option to have it connect to the chemodo connector on my leaf and use my Leaf battery as a power source?
An EV sawmill, didn't see that one coming.
Cool idea
One question when you are in the middle of nowhere in the woods where are you gonna charge it?
You buy extra batteries at 1500.00 per battery.
Unreal. $27k for this sawmill? That's twice the cost of the petrol engine mill. An electric motor option would be better on price.
Hopefully a lx55 can have a battery option!
