  • Here's The NEW Tesla Cybertruck Rival . Let's face it, although ten years ago, Tesla was nothing but a minor company with a lavish dream, nowadays it's probably the most copied company in the world.
    And with the announcement of the Cybertruck, they've seemed to gather a mob of companies trying to be Tesla that's greater than ever before.
    So it's a pretty decent assumption that most of those knock offs are going to fail, right?
    Well, that might not be the case for the truck we're about to show you, because we think we've found the truck that will not only compete with the Cybertruck, but replace it entirely as the most advanced EV truck to ever be made.
    So if you're interested in learning more about this truck, then keep watching till the end because we're sure by the end, you'll have changed thoughts about the Cybertruck.
    To start with, let's go over some:

      Mass production needs production line, logistic and supply chain. Converting prototype which is normally assembled by hand. Many parts are created by custom methods (CNC, milling, 3D printer, crafting, etc).
      That's why mass production is hell.

    2025 with 450 miles of range, Are you kidding me? Cybertruck 2.0 will be out by then with 600+ miles of range. Its laughable how these new car makers think they will just join the party and be better right out of the gate. The solar panel tailgate is a creative idea, but clearly not designed with "truck guys" in mind. F150 owners will not go for that. Rivian has the best combination of features outside of the Cybertruck. Honestly, the Rivian looks better than Cybertruck. The only problem is Cybertruck is its own entity now and has a cult-like following with 1.3 million preorders. No one remembers the name of Rivian's truck..."R1 something". I think you get my point.

    The entire bed of that truck is useless. What a waste. The sliding cover ensures that you cannot put anything in the bed that extends above the bed rails or the back portion of the cover will slide into it and while retracted it takes up 1/3 of the bed. This is bad design. Portions of this do look very nice, but the thick bezels around the screens and many other design options look third party. On top of this, I'd guess this thing is much more expensive than current premium trucks. Its not all bad. It looks bad ass. I like the look, I just think they killed the most important functional feature of a truck... the bed. Strange.

    It is also questionable if these other concept trucks will be able to perform as touted. All too often, manufacturer’s claims fall way short of actual performances. It seems as though no one has addressed the biggest issue that the EV market faces, which is the range and recharging time. I believe that the future success of this market rests with the solid state batteries. Quantum Scape is a leader by a large margin. They claim that the range of their SSB is 1,000 miles and to recharge at 80% takes 15 minutes. The hurdle they have left is the connectivity of the batteries to create the bank. They estimate the timeline to be sometime in 2023 to go into full production.
    This will be the game changer as the wet lithium batteries are dangerous and don't have reasonable range or recharging capabilities.

    The problem is mass production. Most of production/high-tech companies can create great prototypes but most of them are not practical for mass production.
    A lot of parts are created or built by custom method like CNC, milling, crafting, etc.
    When switching to mass production, they have to find out how to create them in production line. The another problem is the production cost. It's easy to spend 3-10M for producing a prototype but they may not find a reasonable way for mass production.

      I hope not, because if Tesla cannot attract the truck crowd it's future in the usa is in doubt. Just look at truck/suv sales compared to passenger cars. Going forward whoever has a good alternative truck platform will win in the lucrative usa market in my opinion

      @@barryobrien1890 You are misunderstanding me. Tesla Cybertruck is not only going to attract the Truck crowd, but it would also attract people who would have never bought a Truck in their entire life. @@richardike2342 possibly. I watched a yt review by someone who has driven the cyber truck, Rivian and lightning. His conclusion was he would buy the Rivian as it best fits his use case as a dad of 2 kids that likes a little off-roading in southern ca. He owns 2 Tesla's. The cybertruck is too big to fit his garage and that was a non starter for him. It also looked too futurestic. I am on the fence with the looks. It's an impressive vehicle but it looks a little too agressive for me. I am sure there are many who will love it. I do hope it comes to market sometime soon as Tesla will need a full size suv platform to grow sales beyond the 15% of the us market that buys passenger cars. Lots to look forward to in 2022 and 2023.

    • @richardike2342
      @richardike2342 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barryobrien1890 This guy you spoke of is just an isolated case. I can confidently say that it is virtually impossible for Rivian to even reach the level of coming Cybertruck sales, neither will it have anything near the Cybertruck scale of influence. This reason I am saying this is because I learned from my last aircraft project that it is the young generation who push technology forward. I designed an unconventional aircraft. The older aviation guys did not really like it. But the young generation went nuts when they saw it. The Cybertruck looking futuristic is going to have exactly the same effect, the young generation will go crazy for it. That is why I said people who would have never bought pickups, would buy the Cybertruck. These are going to be young people, and some of them possibly first time buyers. Besides, Cybertruck base price starts at $40,000, and Rivian base price starts around $70,000. There is actually no competition.

    • @barryobrien1890
      @barryobrien1890 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@richardike2342 i am not sure he is an isolated case or if aircraft owners are a good representation of those that buy trucks. You could very well be right. I find Tesla current models to be too cookie cutter now, and I fear Elon has lost his way. He is now promoting an affordable small car that looks like a cross between a golf and a Volvo hatchback, right when the sales of small cars has crashed in the usa. He is not accelerating the production of an affordable f150 size truck. Where is his mind at. The cybertruck should be rolling out now before Rivian gets a foothold. As for cost, i would be cautious. The model 3 was supposed to compete with the honda accord and Camry, but the base models disappeared before launch and it's pretty pricy now. Rivian when it establishes itself in the high end can roll out lower cost models. They will appeal to the soccer mom's that still buy full size SUVs and weekend warrior guys in thier middle ages that want a family friendly pickup, and not the cyber beast. Of course the electric vehicle market is tiny now, and there is lots of room for many models. ByD in china is one to watch. They are twice the size as Tesla in the Chinese ev market which is much bigger than the us now and have some impressive affordable models. Don't forget, China builds Tesla's, Iphones, Dji drones, etc, so they should not be discounted because they don't sell ice cars in the usa.

    I have no stake in Tesla -- never owned one, likely never will. And there isn't a single doubt in my mind that when Tesla releases the CT, it will make this vehicle with its animated lighting, external camera, multitude of internal displays, oversized 36" wheels, and so forth look like the EV truck that the Icy Hot Stuntaz would drive. This truck, the Ford F150 with its options that more than double the base MSRP, and whatever else is frenetically tossed into the market in haste, before the CT is released....whenever it is released. You know why I can know this? Because...just look at the CT. It is such an extravagantly outlandish (or was that outlandishly extravagant?) design -- like it never made it past early concept stage -- what kind of shameless nerve does it take to hawk a thing such as that in public, to begin with.
    When it comes out, the CT will decimate the competition. This Edison truck won't even be an also-ran next to it. It will look like something that tried to steal a few design cues, but ultimately capitulated to the bean counters. With Tesla, the Elon is the bean counter. So he makes the most ridiculous looking concept pick up in automotive history -- and you think anything will compete with it? Does that make sense to you?

    Not only would it be wise to stay with "buy American" but you get more energy out of a gallon of gas stored in a much smaller space compared to a whole bunch of lithium batteries with great weight. With all the motors and sensors you have a lot to break down. I'm sticking with pre-digital American cars, the internal combustion engine will be with us a lot longer than the kiddies know ...
