Love your M5, I only have the F10 535i. Still debating should I get the GTS try it out. But lots of people at the forum has negative feedback, some said the GTS black on their car only get 30hp on the dyno...etc. Another thing is I have been trying to reach their tech support since early last week, until today no one will reply my email. What if I bought one and need to return it (I think they have 30 days money back guarantee) and no one get back to me, then I will be screwed. Do you really get 82hp increased on your M5 ? Will it increase throttle response? I love the Sprintbooster, I had that on my previous cars. Insane instant throttle. Any thoughts?
Hey Cedric, thank you for the compliment about the M5. The F10 is a great platform. I have to say that RaceChip tech support is not very responsive. I wound up relying on the retailer that sold me the tune to help with my tech support issues and ultimately wound up getting a replacement for the initial unit which was faulty. After I finished the install and no longer had error lights on the dash, I was very happy with the performance. The Sprintbooster only adjusts your pedal sensitivity, it does not change any of the engine tuning, whereas the RaceChip does. I never put my car on a dyno to test the hp increase, but I can tell a difference from stock especially above 4,000 RPM. You can always get a tune that flashes your ECU, by a qualified performance shop, then you won't have to deal with RaceChip!
Hey Marc, no issues, no lights/codes. While I never ran the car on a dyno before or after, the seat of the pants says it adds some serious power. I would buy it again if given the opportunity.
Since it intercepts messages from and to the ECU and turbos, if it was defective, your car would trigger fault codes and turn on the check engine light.

you still have the racechip in your bmw and how it works?
Yes, still have it and so far so good. I can feel the extra power kick in over 4000 rpm.
How has the racechip been holding up? Any issues or dash lights?

How do you know if the chip defects?
