This review is worth zero!! All he’s doing is taking the information given by these companies and taking their word for it without actually testing both of them in terms of performance and results. Bad review and very unprofessional
Thank you for these comparisons; Please note, it's not the number of settings that makes the product Best, it's the performance - I am now sure the RaceChip is the best choice. FYI, GTS-Black adds 75+ HP not 35 as your video indicated... The Winner is RaceChip
Number of settings are also important let’s say that 6-7 settings are enough (2019 racechip) 3 are low (pre 2019 racechip)and 21 are a lot but welcomed (DTE). Will not penalise DTE because they offer more settings. Also because box is located in engine compartment, probably behind a heat firewall wall where ecus are, better get the Bluetooth app version because you will not be able to make manual adjustments. Then there is also pedal throttle box. higher finetuning might be helpful depending on driving style?? Any views on this.
two years ago i buy one DTE power x with bluetooth and paid more than 500£ for my f11 , I drive to see my family from Romania and after few days driving around the car died several times at 20-40 miles in traffic , went to professional mechanic and he advised to remove the tuning box, immediately after the car was running fine without problems. I come back in uk and the British seller asked for pictures with the harness and connectors despite I sent the video with the engine running and oscillating the rpm between 500 and 1500 , the British seller doesn't respect the Europe warranty and I'm ready to take them in court to pay compensation because they don't want accepted return the product for lab inspection. they put me and my family in danger with a faulty product , it is not easy to handle f11 automatic car with dead engine at that speed. the box is doing the joob but doesn`t have any protection for kill the engine. just wonder what would happend if the engine die on autobahn at 240 km/hour
Hi. I expect the seller wants to help you identify if you have installed the product correctly. There are many sensors in the engine that use the same connector as a tuning box, unfortunately it is easy to plug the tuning box harness into a wrong sensor

Racechip has improved their products, in 2019 both hardware and software, with their new racechip+ app and total 7 fine tuning modes for GTS and 6 for RS. Tested 2 android phones and 1 iPhone and all of them connected in a couple of seconds. This is an improvement over their older 3 mode (economy, sport, race) app and older hardware. I have the newest Racechip RS Bluetooth 2019 mated with racechip+ app and happy with it. Well until I got a P0299 DTC. Now I have trouble with boost. Remember that in most cases it is imperative to get red performance ignition coils so add this to your budget. Also Racechip GTS comes with a TUV certificate. In addition What does other type of technology sold by company has to do with this rating??? Is this objective?? -2 or -3 already because Racechip new finetuning technology is much better than before. Both are good products but note both have same lag so you will need the pedal throttle box too. So conclusion: 1. Chiptuning box (DTE or a Racechip) 2. Pedal throttle box (DTE or Racechip) 3. Better both come with App (bluetooth) 4. For Racechip you will need Red ignition coils to achieve higher performance than DTE but probably beneficial to DTE too. Had trouble without the red ignition coils, support offered me a firmware solution but did not install because red coils sorted out the issue. 5. If you want to make it special add larger intercooler (not a lot larger) and boost vacuum/gauge. Now I got a PedalBox from DTE with Bluetooth and I love it. No more lag or time delay when moving from still. Recommended product.
Hi. Not attacking you just asking a question. Where does it say the GTS is TUV approved? About the tech. RaceChip use fuel pressure tech only. DTE use fuel pressure tech. They also use injector timing and duration methods (like Steinbauer) on commercial vehicles. DTE offers products for a greater range of vehicles ie trucks, cars, agricultural, (not just cars like RaceChip) and uses two types of tech, RaceChip only has the one.
Drive Tune Media racechip de site. After selecting vehicle it says in the characteristics of GTS TUV approved (eg audi Q5 B8 TFSi 211 ps). Is Audi Q5 a commercial vehicle?? So if it is not why choose DTE and why give higher marks to DTE?? Note I am not saying racechip is better. Need to test both before choosing the winner.
I've been doing a ton of research on Racechip, and they have their own Dyno. They also test on the dyno with regular unleaded fuel in the applications where the vehicle takes it, so the figures they give are the minimum figures they offer, and i've seen a lot of independent Dyno testing on Racechips and with Euro vehicles, they are known for getting an avergae 30% hp and tq gain, which is crazy for a piggyback tuner. One thing i would add is the review seems a little slanted. Your review is more on the websites vs the ACTUAL products themselves. Maybe next time, focus on the products and review videos that feature the products at least if not buy and test them yourself
Not only the power increase is important. The torque process is also important. The box was created to keep the factory warranty of the car, if possible. So the torque can destroy the gearboxes. You can place the DTE Box on the dynamometer as strongly as Racechip, but why the box cannot withstand. In Poland it is not possible to place Racechip on a dynamometer and DTE is. I don't know how in other countries. I am currently a racechip user and I am very happy but I have a turbo gasoline engine with manual transmission. In 2 months I change a car that has a DSG gearbox and I'm afraid of too much torque and I will risk DTE.
Hi. I agree with you completely. Unfortunately neither company publishes dyno graphs (that I can see) so I couldn't include any information about this in the video. You can ramp up the torque low down in the rev range to get the numbers but like you said, that can put big stress on the gearbox
Does TUV actually independently test power figures?? I was under the impression TUV only certifies for component quality and product safety, can anyone know / can double check?
DTE has **some** of its products independently tested for the power gains. I expect this is why their power increase claims are less than others. I am not sure if the independent tests are conducted by a TUV agent, I presume they are.
DTE is the main manufacture and Race Chip and another company out of the UK, DTUK buy the software and maybe the whole kit from DTE. It is the SAME software and technology. That is a known fact in the industry. You just have to pick the features and price that fits you.
@Spongebob Schwanzkopf Yes, RaceChip is also in Gemany DTUK gets all their stuff shipped from DTE in Germany. DTE has a great thing going. There are a total of 6 brands of piggy backs that have DTE hardware and most get drop shipped from Germany to all over the world. They are like Starkey Hearing Aids, that has like 5 different brand out there, and only audiologists know they are made in one place. th-cam.com/video/RMWEmT1lQtE/w-d-xo.html
VxO4fame you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about as technology advanced rapidly! Today you don’t need to do a remap to give extra 20 30 hp tuning boxes are very practical specially for stock cars with a warranty where people can take them off and can be completely untraceable. You need to update your self before commenting on things you don’t really know about
For anyone thinking these boxes might not throw an alarm beware that there are rumours that new VW group ecu's have a TB1 code which corresponds to "suspected tuning box". Wether or not that is sufficient evidence is a different story but well worth to be aware of this.
