Is it dumb that I love the fact that his antenna matches the holder. 😊
Do NOT mount it on the grab bar! There are air bags all around you, including the side curtain air bag that starts at the A pillar and comes across the top of the door. Also be careful how far to the passenger side you go so as to not obstruct the passenger side air bag. Get a Bulletpoint mount. It's rock solid.
We are compatible with Bulletpoint (and RAM and others!)
Do you need Croc lights? amzn.to/3R08s3n Thanks @hamradiotube
Plastic Man slipper lights? No
They are metal, thank you very much.
I meant the crocs. Ever seen them stuck in an escalator? Not safe footwear for outside of the home. I wear mine to wash the truck or take out the trash... @@HamRadioCrashCourse
Very cool! The radio pod that is. Not the crocs. Definitely not the crocs… 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you so much Josh for the amazing review! Sounds like I may need to make my own TH-cam channel to show these off and how all of this works and to be a little more official. The feedback is awesome I couldn't thank you enough for this!!
Great review on this mount Josh. Simple but effective.
That looks super 3d printable and I didn't spend $150 on a 3d printer for nothing
It’s not 3D printed.
@@HamRadioCrashCourse yeah you said it was machined out of the plastic board. I use a handheld in the truck everyday. So mine will be done printing by tomorrow morning
I bought one of these a while back and I love it. The suction cup mount is pretty good it’s only fallen off once and it was because the windshield was hot from the sun.
Josh buys every ham radio gadget and accessory under the sun.
Wow! This looks like a cool tool for a bday gift or stocking stuffer👍
Nice! What was really nice was the shoes!!!😂
Really interesting. Great video, thanks.
Seems like a good product 👍🏻
Very nice and thank you.
Nice idea! I'll have to look at that! 73
only in Calipornia do you see someone with headlights on their Crocs.
I was hoping that mount was Magnetic like some phone mounts are.
I think mounting it on the steering wheel is the best place but they do make Ball mounts for your A-Pillar Grab Handle. seen them on Jeeps.
The Croc lights were shipped to me by another TH-camr to Texas. You chose which one :D
I was just sketching up something like this. I was thinking about what material to use. I have a couple extra features in line for my prototype but I'm hoping to have one made by the weekend. This thing looks good for exactly what it's for. Antenna length is def gonna matter.😆🤙🏽
Use delrin.
@@Rusted_Link that's what I was thinking. Thanks. I love this community. Everyone has good input to help each other. 🤙🏽
I've been thinking of 3D printing something similar. PETG would be my material of choice.
@SabreToothedSam God, I need a printer. I've been milling things by hand, and it's kinda killing me. If you wanna collaborate on a little project, I'm down. I hope my post didn't seem like I'm trying to steal another persons ip. I literally just want some mounts that'll be helpful for our gear. Hell, I was about to start trying to use pop sockets for some gear. You know, since they already exist and whatnot. I love this community because we can get stuff together and hive-mind things. 🤙🏽
One of the most popular HT's ever didn't make the cut. The AT 878!
It’s like one guy making these. Reach out to him and ask if you’re actually interested.
@@HamRadioCrashCourse I did. I'll even send him one of he needs it.
I'll have one designed by end of next week!! Thank you for the suggestion!
Love the crocs!!!😂😂😂 73 de K7EGA
How do you think that would work on a side by side?
Josh, random Question. I was watching your video ( I don't remember what the subject was). You dropped a radio in the pool to demonstrate its waterproofness. What was the name of the radio?
Keep the videos using them to get my Tech. license
Thanks for the video Josh. What antenna is that on the Icom? Looks like a Signal Stick but shorter.
It is indeed a 70cm signal stick 😅 link in video description.
@@HamRadioCrashCourse oh ok cool. Thank you
What antenna is that? Looks like a Signal Stick, but shorter…?
Love the Crocs!! Lmao
Does this seem sturdy enough to go on the handlebars of a motorcycle?
It does, yes.
I need to find a solid HT holder for my motorcycle.
Would you be connecting to the radio via Bluetooth by using VOX and something like a Cardo system? I've thought about trying to rig up something like this, but I also don't think I need the distraction while I'm on two wheels.
I do have a cardo currently, but haven't tested it yet. I just got back into motorcycles after a 10 year hiatus lol @@pablod6872
I'm sure my RadioPod would fit the bill if we can find a good attachment type that fits. I can get anything from Arkon and elsewhere if you want to work on something custom to your setup!
Is this what showed up in the middle of the livestream the other night?
nope
More hardware!! More hardware!!!!!
😆😅🤣🔥🤌that intro
Thank you.
That would clamp on the passenger side panic bar in a Wrangler.
Grab bar
C’mon no FT-60? Seems like this thing would almost be universal.
It is listed under the battery type not the handheld brand. FT-5D isn't listed either but it's battery is.
Same for the ft-70, which I think hro says is it's best-selling yaesu HT. Confusing.
@b4ux1t3-tech the battery for most of Yaesu's HT's made in last 10 yrs use the same battery. That battery is listed. Get the one made for your battery and it will fit.
@@scottgarvy aha. I see what you're saying. I need this for my bike, great to see it's actually an option! Thank you.
Thanks for the input here guys I'm still learning all of the radios I'm already compatible with! There are so many! I will get this confirmed and updated in the compatibility matrix and RadioPod Finder by end of next week!
Oh the AnyTone is not listed. Grrr
Which model? I bet if you ask him he will get on it!
Already on it! Should have it this week and I'll have a model designed by end of next week!
Jazzy
Never get such things like that in the U.K.
I'm hoping to be international by the end of the year!! Stay tuned :)
@@paulcybulski941 Nice. Be certainly interested in using something like that.
They don't even have an official listing for the FT-5D and that radio is not even that old..
It’s one dude working on this. Relax.
I'll get this added by end of next week once I confirm the clip is identical to the FT-3DR! Ty for the input!

How about review this item in a future video:
ROLL-UP EMERGENCY VHF ANTENNA
Historically, emergency VHF systems had a short and stubby antenna that limited range when
you would need it most, but they were easy to store. Revolve-Tec has solved the problem with their new roll-up Emergency VHF Antenna. Using the proven “Rolatube” design - which was developed for and is in use by the military - the patented design integrates a high-performance antenna into the rollable composite material, removing the need for separate mast and antenna units. Just unroll the antenna, connect it to your radio and start transmitting. The antenna is over 8 feet tall when unrolled, it is ultralight, compact, and has a high-visability cover with an integrated SOLAS approved LED strobe for location assistance. It comes in a waterproof, roll-top bag for easy storage.
Price: $279.00
So Josh what are we drinking tonight? Skeeter Pee? 🦟
