It's always fun to see the shock when Tati first growls 😂😂 I must admit my favorite part of the song is the very last part, where Tati first growls, then seamlessly and effortlessly transitions into her beautiful singing, takes it up a knotch, switching to growling again and then ends with that amazing scream... She is definately an absolutely superb master of her craft 🤘😀🤘

Also, the actress that plays Maria on OITNB, Jessica Pimentel, is in a metal band, Alekhine's Gun, as a vocalist. Demo Lovato likes music like this, and even heavier - she likes Dimmu Borgir and Abigail Williams. Alternative hiphop is getting black metal, grindcore, industrial metal, and Nu-Metal influence infused into Trap-Metal, and Trap-Metal/Noisecore-EDM/Metalcore crossover bands are popping up. Don't judge a book by it's cover, and expect to see more eclecticism from stereotypically... unexpected sources.

Couple things if nobody pointed it out in the first reaction. Tati is a Pisces, she is also wearing fishes in her ears. The entire song is a nod to the dual nature of Pisces, the sweet and jazzy lines and then the fierce and guttural growls, not to mention the lyrics themselves. Also, her vs the band. She's the energetic one the other 3, Roman on guitar, Eugene on bass, and Vlad on drums are just chilling doing their thing, vibing to the song.
What sadly goes unspoken in this song is the bassist. Granted, what he's doing isn't at all difficult from a technical standpoint, but there's a ton of soul in what he's doing, which is arguably more important. Where he holds off and where he doesn't is actually very Motown, as strange as that sounds in a song like this. Sorry. Bass nerd. lol
No. You are wrong. Not everybody can do that. You can learn and train. But not everybody can run as fast or swim as fast as an word champion. And not everybody can sing like Tati.

One of the things that helped me "visualize" what she's doing is by focusing on what it feels like when you clear your throat. I think a lot of people don't realize that it really is that simple. If you can clear your throat and it makes that white noise/rattling sound then you're like 1/10 of the way there. That's your false cords flapping and moving. The ability to control your breathing, how much air you flow, manipulate the shape of your mouth, use different tongue posture, control how open or closed your throat is, and clearly enunciating is extremely difficult to achieve. To me, Tatiana might be one of the best growlers when it comes to enunciation and clearly pronouncing her words. She's got a great tone as well. Definitely my all time favorite so far. Tell your girl that she's not going to sound like this overnight or possibly ever. I think the shape of your mouth, throat, and sinus cavities have a lot to do with the tone. She will have her own unique tone.
Tatiana was blessed with the vocal ability and the facial configuration to make those super deep and powerful growls. Angela Gossow is great too but everyone has different resonances

Definetely gonna check some more of your stuff ^^ In case your girlfriend was serious about practicing screams, make sure she does never feel any kind of ache. If it starts being painful she has to try a different approach and do a break. People can seriously harm their voices when learning extreme vocals the wrong way. Stay healthy!
It'd be great for Coutney to have a go at screaming, but PLEASE encourage her to check out the vocal coaches on TH-cam who are experts in it, and teach it, because it's apparently possible to really harm your voice by doing it wrong.
I will never refer anyone to a TH-cam vocal coach for their vocal well being. If Courtney wants to learn how to scream, I'll coach her through the vocal basics that my expertise works at, and then we will find a specialist to focus on growling in a healthy way. Anyone who thinks they can learn (or teach) singing on TH-cam without actually interacting with a teacher, they're delusional.

I didn't mean people who try to _teach_ via TH-cam (which I haven't seen much of, to be honest), I meant teachers who can be _found_ via TH-cam. Many of the ones who seem more serious have their own off-line coaching businesses which in many cases pre-date them starting a YT channel. The main thing that literally everybody I've seen covering screaming says is that you shouldn't just 'give it a go', because there is a wrong way and a right way, and there are experts who can coach you in the latter.
@@MrHws5mp of course! Yeah, it's so clearly the kind of thing that you would need to learn from someone with experience. To be honest, all singing works that way. If you approach it the wrong way the results can be very bad for the voice. I appreciate your insights here though. One of the reasons I started this community was to dissect that notion of how the voice works so people who wanted to become singers would understand really how much work and effort and mindfulness it takes to get there.
I’m friends with the singer Vicky Psarakis of her band The Agonist. She is the second singer of the band. Vicky toured with Jinjer last year and she is good friends with the band. I talk to Vicky all the time and she is an amazing person and very kind. Check out The Agonist. Vicky told me she had to go through vocal lessons to do the growl singing to do all that like Tatiana of Jinjer

It'd be great for Coutney to have a go at screaming, but PLEASE encourage her to check out the vocal coaches on TH-cam who are experts in it, and teach it, because it's apparently possible to really harm your voice by doing it wrong.
I will never refer anyone to a TH-cam vocal coach for their vocal well being. If Courtney wants to learn how to scream, I'll coach her through the vocal basics that my expertise works at, and then we will find a specialist to focus on growling in a healthy way. Anyone who thinks they can learn (or teach) singing on TH-cam without actually interacting with a teacher, they're delusional.
@@CharlieCalottaReacts Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I didn't mean people who try to _teach_ via TH-cam (which I haven't seen much of, to be honest), I meant teachers who can be _found_ via TH-cam. Many of the ones who seem more serious have their own off-line coaching businesses which in many cases pre-date them starting a YT channel.
The main thing that literally everybody I've seen covering screaming says is that you shouldn't just 'give it a go', because there is a wrong way and a right way, and there are experts who can coach you in the latter.
@@MrHws5mp of course! Yeah, it's so clearly the kind of thing that you would need to learn from someone with experience. To be honest, all singing works that way. If you approach it the wrong way the results can be very bad for the voice. I appreciate your insights here though. One of the reasons I started this community was to dissect that notion of how the voice works so people who wanted to become singers would understand really how much work and effort and mindfulness it takes to get there.

I’m friends with the singer Vicky Psarakis of her band The Agonist. She is the second singer of the band. Vicky toured with Jinjer last year and she is good friends with the band. I talk to Vicky all the time and she is an amazing person and very kind. Check out The Agonist. Vicky told me she had to go through vocal lessons to do the growl singing to do all that like Tatiana of Jinjer
