Meet the Gaffer #51 is a great episode with the inventer. Walks you through the history of his invention and a little on the relationship with Matthews.
I would love to visually see these clamps in use. Maybe you could do that on a future show when things get back to normal. As always, I love watching and learning from your video’s. Thank you!
Awesome, I went and got my first c stand few weeks ago for my home studio.. loving it.. got myself a mathelini too, didn't know it was called that when I got it, using it to mount the reflector on a single cstand for my clamshell set-up
HI Daniel. I work with Matthews as a design engineer, you are pretty close. Matthews didnt acquire the rights, they are licensed to produce them. Same with a few other key items from pretty well known grips in the industry.
I would like to see more of the grip you use as i look for used grip in good shape to buy, everything is usefull. It did get a bit our of sync or something but worth seeing, Thanks Daniel
This needs to be done. Photography needs grip, and there’s tons of grip. Hey I watched Luke Seerveld and he has an ineview with the inventor. Pretty cool, Cardelini talks about one of his inventions getting ripped off, and he names names!
When using the extension, I sometimes will be able to clamp a super clamp onto the extension, and then use the super clamp to tripod connector and then add a tripod head. If I’m going at the end of the clamp I might use a Camera platform from a magic arm, or a 5/8 to 3/8 adapter and put a tripod head on that. Like a small ball head. It really just depends on the exact set up I’m looking to do.
Sorry, the video gets choppy in the end - but the audio is good so I figured it was worth posting.

That would be ideal I know
Glad to hear you are shooting again. Keep the grip stuff coming, when you can. Enjoy learning & hearing how grip / gear is used in the field.
Thank You!
Good video, Daniel. Was getting worried about you. Some more grip videos would be great!
Thanks
I enjoyed this and it was easy to follow and understand. Your videos on the grip that you use is very helpful. And appreciated - thanks!
Thanks
Good stuff!!
Thank You!

Awesome thanks!!
Cardellini clamps are great but I tend to grab the more versatile Mafer (super Clamps) first.
Indeed
Love a good grip vid.

Hello look like great clamps, How do they hold up to salt water and harsh outdoor use?
I’ve left them outside for short periods 4-5 days but not longer, nor have I experience with long term salt water use, so I can’t say unfortunately.
Maybe I zoned out -- did you upgrade your (video) camera?
A while back I switched to using the Nikon Z6

😯I’ll have to check it out
What is your preferred method to attach a camera to that type of clamp?

how do i open the end clamp?
Cardellinis grip 1" square tubing for overhead lighting better than round tubing.

Sounds creepy but omg I love clamps so much.
I’m with you there
Matthellini may also be known as a Cardi or Cardileni, depending on the 'common term' of any particular film community area.
