It is so nice to see you and your Mom out together having fun. She has done a wonderful job in her yard. I admire her. The living room decor was exactly what I had until May 2021 when my home flooded with 17 inches of water. I was devastated because my late husband and I chose it all together. I have not replaced it. I can no longer buy quality furniture at today's prices.
I dont think we realize how hard it is for parents to make those late age transitions. I am a lady of a certain age and am finding it to be a bit melancholy moving into my later years. We all will have our challenges as the years go on and I am trying to resign myself to letting others know my boundaries and what my limitations are as I make self care and safety a priority. Your mom is so lucky to have you near by and to be able to share time with you

It was back in the day when you and Pete lived in the house in the country. I don't have children, but if I did, I would proud if I had a daughter like you. It's so good to see the dynamic duo in action again. When I was 50 I had the same surgery, but it was complicated by an MRSA wound infection ( drug resistant staph infection). I was re-hospitalized and given I.V. antibiotic therapy and spent a whole summer having a wound care nurse come twice a day to change my dressing. I lost 12 pounds and lost quite a bit of blood during surgery, so I looked like Casper the ghost and was anemic. I was as weak as a kitten and felt like a truck ran over me. Being thrown into menopause overnight was quite the adventure as well. I'm so glad your healing well and you'll be as strong as ever soon. Let Pete move that dresser without your help missy!!!

Me again…. I can’t help but agree with your philosophies regarding design and knowing when it feels right and more importantly- the gratitude for healing and good health. I’m probably around your mom’s age, living in a big old house ( like you) , loving design and gardening- which is why I’m such a fan. So far my husband and I can manage our big ole house and yard but I know there will come that time. We are in our late sixties and biding our time and are mentally preparing for the inevitable. By the grace of God - we’re all going to age and have to accept the limitations that come with it. But your mom’s place looks great!!! As if she’s been there far longer- so cozy and lived in. I have a 22 year old profoundly disabled, non-verbal daughter and thanks to you sharing your story, I FINALLY insisted on having her seen by a OB-GYN. Thankfully everything is normal 🙏🏽 but I was “that Mom” throughout all the procedures and testing and will continue to advocate for her, myself and all women when it comes to our health. You looks absolutely amazing at 4 weeks post op after a hysterectomy!!! Just remember to take care of yourself!! Even though they say '8 weeks'...you body needs much more time to fully heal (inside and out) from major surgery. Speaking from experience...take all the time you need & accept any/all help people will give you. You've got this!!!

Love your Mom backyard. It's so cozy. I understand what your Mom is going through. I'm 70, and we moved also to a smaller home and yard. It was hard for me to accept my postage stamp backyard. But mu son talked to us and sounds exactly like you. 😢 Don't like it ,but it is what it is. 😢 So happy to see you both. ❤❤❤

Selina! Thank you so much for sharing your very personal story with all of us. We women need to talk about our female bodies and support each other and advocate for one another like you have been. I have a 22 year old profoundly disabled, non-verbal daughter and thanks to you sharing your story, I FINALLY insisted on having her seen by a OB-GYN. Thankfully everything is normal 🙏🏽 but I was “that Mom” throughout all the procedures and testing and will continue to advocate for her, myself and all women when it comes to our health. So, again, THANK YOU! 💗

You could put your pretty perfume on a fancy vintage tray or mirrored tray and mount a tv that turns into a floral picture when not in use. Thank you for taking us along with your mom, I miss shopping with my mom who has trouble balancing herself now and can’t come along with me anymore. Wishing you an enjoyable day!

You looks absolutely amazing at 4 weeks post op after a hysterectomy!!! Just remember to take care of yourself!! Even though they say '8 weeks'...you body needs much more time to fully heal (inside and out) from major surgery. Speaking from experience...take all the time you need & accept any/all help people will give you. You've got this!!!
