  • The Sport True Wireless are the sportiest truly wireless headphones available from Sennheiser. They have a more secure fit than the company’s other truly wireless buds, as well as two different sets of ear tips, with one designed to let in more external noise for awareness during outdoor exercise.
    Run Tester Nick has been testing out the Sport True Wireless buds ahead of their launch, here’s what he made of them.

    Interesting choice with the tips. Like you have to carry around the tips with you of you ever want to change. Feels like anc/transparency is just a better solution

    • @ABHORRANCE831

      Sadly, transparency is useless when outdoors. Any sort of jogging or cycling movement sounds like a can of compressed air in the ear. Hopefully makers someday have software noise control for wind.

    Great review. Do these have mono mode? Where you can just play in one earphone? Couldn't find anything in the Sennheiser manual.

    Very competitive with that 9 hour battery life. I just wish the case was slimmer for runs and workouts.

    I have the Sennheiser momentum 2s ... and it's been great ..I'll be waiting for the Sennheiser momentum 3 for better ANC ...but I think Jabra eliter 7 active will serve me better for the gym the bass is deep and still clean... I like the features , soundscape and look more portable and easy to handle .. the experience of using this might not be as great ... just like u said on the video

    Great, thorough review, many thanks! I'm here because I've lost patience with my Bose Sport earbuds - there's a known bug with the charging i.e. you think they're fully charged (because the case indicates as such after they've been in there anything up to 36hrs), you put them on before you go for a run and it says "10% battery"...!!! Further, even when they are fully charged, you only get 3hrs 45mins from them, whereas Bose claim 5hrs, so not impressed!
    Anyway, I've just pre-ordered a pair of the Sennheisers and fingers crossed, they do what it says on the tin, with no BS or bugs!

      @radalict ปีที่แล้ว

      My Bose soundsport stopped holding a full charge, I only get an hour 10 from them now. The other annoying factor of the Bose was the constant parasitic drain on the case.

    Good review, do you store the music on the headphones or you need a watch with you? Will they contact to the 745 watch?

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. You’ll need a watch or phone with you, they don’t store music unfortunately. I don’t have the 745 to hand but they paired to the Epix 2 so should be fine with the 745 too!

    • @TheRunTesters

      Good Q! I just tried this and the answer is not really unfortunately, the CX Plus are bit smaller and the wings move around and come off when putting them in the ear.

    Thanks for the review. You discuss that in awareness mode it reduces the footfall thud when you are running. What do you recommend as the best wireless headphones for minimising this? I recently bought the jabra elite 75t but find the thumping sound too noticeable when running.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d say in-ear buds have this problem in general, so you’d probably be better off with open fit headphones (like the AirPods or Huawei Freebuds 4) that don’t go into the ear, or bone conduction headphones, or Sony’s Linkbuds which have an open design too.

    • @davidross6360

      @@TheRunTesters Thanks. Are the ear hook designs any good for this? Like the powerbeats pro?

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends more on the seal within the ear canal I think. The Powerbeats Pro didn’t sit deep in my ears so were OK. Though a tighter seal will mean better passive noise cancellation

      My 2 only options to the “footsteps problem” are Bose SoundSport and the AirPods 3, I tried several TWS and done a lot of research to find the right headphones for running but right now these 2 are my only choice.

    After my original power beats stopped working after many years, I bought the Powerbeats pro…got fed up with the charging case issue, and started my hunt for something else…I tried the Beats Pro and Jaybird Vista 2, both with wing tips, and neither would stay in my ears on runs or bike rides (in the winter, no sweat), and the ANC when riding a bike was terrible…it amplified wind noise, so I just turned it off. So, I finally went back to a pair with ear hooks and no ANC. I do have small ears, so maybe that’s it. I like great sound, but if the earbud won’t stay in, it’s useless. And, as mentioned, the wing tips just start to feel uncomfortable.

    • @perpelle

      So what did you end up with?

    • @clingenpeelc
      @clingenpeelc 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@perpelle I got the skullcandy push active. Sound is pretty good and has an EQ feature in the app so you can adjust sound to your liking. The foam thats in the tip of the earbud that isolates the internals from the outside world ended up coming out over time. I guess the sweat finally eroded it. So, you can see right into both earbuds. More sweat is likely going to make it stop working, but it’s still working. These are not that expensive.

    That's disappointing that open/aware mode is minimally effective, as I can't find a solution I am happy with. I do a lot of mountain biking and want better awareness to hear other bikes, joggers, and trail sounds.
    I absolutely hate the low quality clock radio sound of Shokz, so much, that the sound is distracting, and I just turn them off.
    I have a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 3 TWS and they are just awesome in almost every regard except transparency. Transparency mode is totally useless with any exercise movement, as there is a terribly amplified wind noise (every bud I've tried with Transparency suffers this issue). However, the Transparency Mode is awesome when at a standstill and having a conversation with others. I wish the software had wind noise cancellation. Ironically, ANC has a wind mode, that works very well, but doesn't help when awareness is needed.

      @@AK88. To be honest, most of the time noise cancellation in these wireless buds is pretty bad, they muddle the sound. In my opinion, in-ear buds cancels the sound enough on their own.

    I just got a pair of these (for free using a voucher) to replace my Bose Soundsport as after only two years or so the Bose no longer hold a decent charge, they're going flat after an hour and 10 minutes, give or take. Bose only offered me an exchange for a discount which was still more expensive than some shops were selling brand new.
    I found the Sennheiser to be really uncomfortable to begin with, they don't seem to match my left ear very well and the largest tip size is still too small for my ear canals (I've ordered a larger third party tip). But I've gotten used to the fit now, still waiting for the larger tips to arrive.
    As for the sound, I listen to a lot of extreme sort of metal and I was finding the focus mode very tinny. Played with eq and just couldn't get it to sound right. So I flicked it into aware mode and it's nice and heavy, the correct sound, even though I'm still using the focus tips (for now).
    I don't agree with the 9 hours of battery life either, they go do to 80% in an hour and a half, so closer to 7 hours I'd say, which is still great.
    One query, I can't seem to figure out what indicates when the case needs a charge? Will the indication light pulse on it or what?
