Ok I have more hope for Chris Pratt cause when he said "let's a go" and "wahoo" he nailed it the line delivery was (chiefs kiss) perfect so yeah I think he's got this and I love Peach my girl ain't gonna be kidnaped well maybe in the climax so Mario can do his thing but other than that she's gonna be epic WHOOOO!!!!!

It's more that Peach has been a damsel in distress for so long, they forgot that she's supposed to be a leader to her people. Of course, her people can't really fight, but still...

Maybe the voice will mature like the characters training. He's probably Chris Pratt becoming Mario like Jim Carrey becoming Robotnik, A process of transformation.

With the way this movie seems like it's going, I think Chris Pratt's voice is fine. 2 clips of Mario and Luigi plumbing, one of them flying through some sort of pipe unknowingly (which most likely leads in the Chris Pratt scene in the first trailer), and the subtle Chris Pratt doing the Mario voice towards the end.
It seems like they are Brooklyn plumbers who got sucked into the Mushroom kingdom. As the movie progress, Mario becomes more comfortable and adapts to the world around his, so much so that he starts picking up an accent while he is there. He must join forces with Peach and the Mushroom kingdom to stop Bowser from collecting the power stars and ruling the entire world.

Honestly, I think Chris is going for the Captain Lou Albino version of Mario from the Super Mario Bros Super Show. You know, the show that debut for one season in 1989?

I heard an interview with Chris Pratt and he said that he was told by the Voice Director to use his regular voice and do a little bit of Iconic Mario sounding voice.

Hearing the decent "Wa-hoo" at the very end of the trailer, and seeing that Mario starts off as an actual plumber fixing a leeky tap, what I'm hoping… REALLY hoping is that he starts the movie with Pratt's regular voice at the start and gradually evolves more into the Mario voice we all know and love towards the end.
Will that happen? I don't know. But that's what I'm hoping for.

It looks like the story and the rest of the characters hold up great. So I'm fine with Mario sounding just like Chris Pratt. I don't think his voice will take me out of the movie. Also wondering if maybe the big time people in charge of the movie could've been afraid of being called out for stereotyping if they did a full videogame sounding "Italian" Mario. Look up the Super Princess Peach game for DS. Princess Peach is already quite the capable princess. In fact I wish that they would have shown her with Perry instead of a Halberd. I think Perry would be perfect in a film like this. Also, her girly powers that she used in Super Princess Peach and in Smash Bros. would be much more effective than any standard weapon.

The movie looks amazing and while I'm eager for it to come out, I'm still hesitant on Chris Pratt. I mean I've seen a teaser where they replaced his voice with an Ai of the original game Mario and that one fits so much better. I got to be honest I’m just picturing Emmet from the LEGO Movie when I hear Mario’s voice. But I’m fine with it. As long as the movie is entertaining, and so far it seems pretty entertaining. Especially Mario getting slapped around by Donkey Kong.

Why do I get the feeling that the Mario Kart scene is most likely going to play at the end of the movie? Though maybe the kart racing might be something Mario & the gang would do when facing Bowser & his minions at some point in the movie.
I'm actually looking forward to this movie! It looks incredible & amazing! But it makes me wonder if Universal Studios will make new mascot suits of the characters based on the movie or use the generic ones for the parks once it gets close to release date.
