First time I was in Berlin, every street was covered with solid ice... instead of salt they had spread some sort of sand or small gravel on the surface, to give some grip. Not sure it would be enough for bikes though, with the smaller surface of contact. That was like 35 years ago.
I'm in the US, I'm planning to use my bike to commute to work and college, but I've been afraid of how much of a hassle the winter would be (upstate NY - so probably similar-ish winters to Germany). Ice and gravel is rough. Any advice for winter riding? I'm very new to bikes
For more snow like that, I would suggest a proper mountain bike. This would give you as much stability as you need on snow and it makes way more fun than riding snow on a twitchy Brompton. But, with good riding skills you can do basically everything with a Brompton.
Hatte eher damit zu tun, dass die Belichtung in der Nachbearbeitung hochziehen musste...sonst wäre es schon früh zu dunkel gewesen. Die Kamera hat nicht so eine gute low-light-performance.

That was like 35 years ago.
On the sidewalks you still only have the gravel, which mainly gets you punctured. Only the streets now have the "comfort" of salt.

Ja...leider...der Bedarf wäre da.
Die Kameraeinstellung ist im 2. Teil anfangs leider weniger günstig Die dunklen Ärmel veranlassen die Belichtungs-Automatik, den Rest überzubelichten.
