    So glad that we still have these old newsreels. A far more simple time to live. What a hoot those country festivals would have been. Thanks for posting.

    my home town....shame its not as simple a life as it seems back then, and imagine the insurance costs to have those sorts of activities now days, no wonder its lost in time, magical to see these sorts of flash backs

    What a great documentary, really capturing the soul of The Lake. I always enjoy visiting there.

    Lake Cargelligo was also home to the June 1862 Eugowra Gold Escort robber John Bow. Bow arrived at the lake on release from Darlinghurst Gaol 1874 originally from Penrith b. 1841. John Bow provided the funds to purchase the ground to establish the first Catholic Church and was instrumental in establishing the local racecourse. Died 1895 and is buried in the Catholic portion of the Lake Cargellico Cemetery.
