Scott Adkins seems like a really genuine person. I'm guessing he hasn't got a main big lead because he hasn't gone and tried to properly chase something and push for it. I guess I could be wrong though.
What an admirable and down to earth human being. Scott speaks so well and has such a great heart. It only strengthens my faith and belief in him and the work he does. Scott is prob my favorite on screen martial artist ever! I grew up watching Seagal, Van Damme, Norris, Chan etc. but Scott just seems to stand above all of them. The guy is amazing at what he does and I think it’s high time he’s allowed to shine!

Scott Atkins is truly amazing and it seems like he is a very humble man, which is very admirable in anyone that is on top of his game. I have been watching some of his movies lately. They have a plethora of his films on Tubi and Roku as well. I actually saw both Ninja movies which he stars in and they were entertaining to watch. And yes. Tonight I'm ordering take out and sitting down w/my oldest son (the one in the profile pic who is now 8 years old) and have a blast w/Accident Man 2. And for what Prime is charging to rent the film ($5.99), its totally worth it. I already ordered it on my laptop while working at home. Once I clock out in half an hour, I'm heading to the living room and enjoy this popcorn flick, by leaving my brain on my desk. Thank you for another great episode, David. You're the man!
Viking Samurai, first, the fact that you interviewed Scott Adkins is a tremendous achievement! I'd say though that Scott has transceneded Hollywood so that while it would be nice for him to get that added mainstream exposure, his achievements in film transcend Hollywood, and I think that even if he were to not make any more films, he has built up enough of a legacy in his films to be even more popular in the future. Also, rather than calling him the "next Van Damme", he is his own category of martial art/action star. I put Adkins right up there with the best martial arts actors ever - Van Damme and Bruce Lee.
@Handsome790 True, Scott Adkins' weakness is his acting, but the reason martial arts movies doing so poorly in the west - is because they no longer have an action hero persona in them. They are just stunt reels. When action heroes will be back in the movies, then the movies will change in the right direction as well. Scott had charisma when he first portrayed Boyka. He could almost be Ivan Drago's little delinquent brother. Unfortunately, that happened only once, and in this case - once is not enough.
Scott Adkins is a Great actor and a Superb martial artist. He deserves WAY more credit and more leading roles in movies. The most underrated actor/martial artist of all time. Give him a damn starring role already!!!!
Great job with the interview brother! As a longtime subscriber, let me say that these Scott Adkins interviews are the crown jewels of this channel. I've enjoyed nearly all of your interviews, but having Scott on here is the biggest treat you've given us yet. I really hope you get the chance to host him again on future promotional runs for his movies.
He'd be crazy not to as we are the people that buy a copy for our libraries. This a comment section of mostly adults that are not only honorable but also consummate martial artists/supporters and action film enthusiasts and supporters.
Coming from a drama-school background myself and as a fellow Birmingham person who loves movies and someone who respects Scott's acting skills, I think he would be an awesome choice to play the role of James Bond. I think the last great Bond was Timothy Dalton and he was an awesome action hero in both the Bond movies he made, as he showed emotion and drama, which is something I feel Scott Adkins does really well. Scott Adkins as Bond going up against a villain that is super tough, not just some old bald weak guy behind a desk, who is an easy kill, but someone who is tougher than Bond, and having an uber-tough actor like Adkins fight such a villain would be awesome in an epic long martial arts fight. I look forward to seeing more movies by Scott Adkins, who is such a great actor with an understanding of what makes fights and action work on a dramatic level. Great content again Viking Samurai - your channel is addictive.
This guy is a amazing martial artist. & Good actor.. it's the same way for rock musicians. It's hard to sell albums when people get songs free on the web. Keep up the good work Scott Adkins. Your films are great!!
i have always seen him as a perfect batman, and thats before hearing others have the same opinion. hes such a big inspiration to me growing and still now
I think the issue Scott and other action stars have is that Hollywood had stepped away from practical combat action films. Hollywood doesn't focus on action films as much anymore because they are usually not family friendly R-rated and don't bring in the level of profits they want. Studios tend to focus the action away from the actors and more so on external elements such as explosives, CGI, and camera tricks. A lot of the actions scenes are now performed by actors that look good but can train just enough to make a fight look almost real. From the present Hollywood comic book action landscape, Scott would unfortunately keep being placed in these small, subpar and underutilized roles they have been giving him, such as in Wolverine and Doctor Strange, to make someone else look good or some henchmen role. If Marvel hadn't wasted the character in the Black Widow film, Scott would've been great as the Taskmaster. I would say Deathstroke but that role will likely go to someone that can barely lift their leg to kick a ball let alone carry a fight.
Everytime I see Scott Adkins pop up in a movie as a supporting character I jump in excitement, the man is mad talented. Last time that happened was while watching Day Shift.
Accident Man is one of my favourite action movies. Sometimes pointless overspending just kills movies. At times, you want movies that look like those we saw when we grew up
Great interview. Mr. Adkins seemed to drop his guard substantially in this last part. You did an amazing job with this interview. Keep it up, was here at 30K subs and now you're at 75K and growing at a super rate.
Scott is a great all-rounder. He needs his big break. This guy is a legend. I really enjoyed all his movies. Give him his chance Hollywood. Boyka has some of the best fight scenes ever made.
Scott Adkins is my favorite action movie star. I see he's in a movie I watch it. The ninja I and II introduces me to him and had me hooked, I watched everything else after that and then Avengment a few years later, blew me away. I think in positivity and have a good feeling he will have his shot. He has a great career already and one good movie away from mainstream.
To of my favorite martial arts actors Scott adkins and Michael j white. These two really are the only ones keeping that type of movie alive in my opinion
I think that Scott Adkins has shown us the best fight scenes ever. I’d love to see more movies with him. His not just an incredible athlete, he’s also very charismatic and a great looking dude
@theartofaphorism3886 great ones for sure but outdated in comparison of what we see today. Probably due to the technology of filming, today the fight scenes are more spectacular. However I was a true fan of Bruce Lee as well
@@SuperBechti The technology of filming has nothing to do with that. If anything - it only made things worse, especially in the west. The only one improvement the fight scene ideology made over the years - is eliminating the constant "fight pausing" gimmick that was prevalent in all the older martial arts films. The best fight scenes, however, belong to Hong Kong action movies of the late 80's to mid 90's. Always did, and always will. Even today, the best action movies are made in the far east. And if i had to name a few, then young(!) Donnie Yen undoubtedly takes the crown in that department. Especially his showdowns against Michael Woods, which he was famous for in those days. There is a very rare martial arts film "The Death Games"/(Chong po si wang you xi) 1997, that has scenes worthy of Donnie Yen's laurels. Legendary cast, when all are young and at their best. Having that said, in the west, while there are numerous martial arts films that are considerably better than Scott's work (such as Die Fighting), there is no denying that he helped raise the bar of fight action quality in the movies and inspired many of them.
@@HexenStar hi there. I respect your opinion on that matter, but personally even though I do like very much Donnie Yen as much as Jet li, the Chinese kung-fu movies are not my cup of tea. Way to exaggerated to my opinion, the scenes are unrealistic, with too much accelerated moves, cheap noise effects and way too long and repetitive. Without mentioning the flying fighting scenes that are just ridiculous. When it come to Scott Adkins, I admire his fantastic shape from hard work out and is martial art level, because he is a real martial artist before being an actor.
I didn't really know Scott before your videos with him here but started watching his movies, (and paying for them) he's a badass!! His sheer physical talent is incredible, a great actor, hard worker and seems like an all round good guy. He definitely deserves a shot in a lead roll in a big budget film. Thanks for putting the spotlight on him, he will have definitely earned a few new fans because of it!
Scott in Undisputed 3 was literally the single film that got me into weightlifting and Jiu jitsu when I was like 14. I remember having my mom drive me to a mall like 1:20 away so I could go to HMV and buy a bluray of that movie. Ive watched it a solid 20x
Scott is so honest and humble, I love this guy and always have. I appreciate that he took the time for this interview as well. You have to appreciate his candid interaction and response. He is deserving of a big role and would absolutely slay it. I really enjoy how he never shoots anyone down and shows so much respect for people. Thank you Viking Samurai for this series.
I love Scott Atkins!! He just needs to be more of an actor. He nailed it when he said actors are the action superstar's now. Look at all the big action stars now. They all started with regular rolls. Jason Stratham, Liam Neeson, Bruce Willis, Frank Grilo. Scott needs to use his looks and woo the ladies.
A lot of Hollywood success seems like luck and networking. Scott needs a “The Raid” or “Extraction” and he’ll get the recognition he deserves. Personally, I’m grateful for the stuff he has made / is making. Maybe us fans need to put or money where our mouth is and crowdfund a film.
What Scott Needs to do is move to Hollywood and start rubbing elbows. Grab that SAG card and just go ham. That would fix his issues in short order as he already has a back catalog of great films, shorts and cameos. As well as his body of stunt work.
This was a very good interview. You had Scott's attention and you asked good questions without interrupting the natrual flow of conversation. Great job
I met Scott at the MCM comic con when he was promoting the first Accident man. I actually asked him both question about a leading hero role and fighting MMA. I joked about him whooping CM Punk, and we had a little chat about him playing Iron Fist. He said he tried to advise Marvel on it. They sadly ignored him.
It would be great if Scott could make an action movie on a grand scale with the impact of something like Enter the Dragon. He would be the one that could pull it off.
You are really nailing it with your interview with Scott (and the others too) ! Scott should definitely get a break with a few great movies. He has got it all: good looks, great talent in terms of martial arts and acrobatics, big screen presence, super hard working.... In his TH-cam video talks and interview he comes across as a very likable guy, and he really listens to the people he have talks with.
Been saying this for years. Someone doesn't want him to move into Hollywood. Maybe a good thing, seeing how nasty the community is,, he may have to give up something to get that role. Stay away from mansion parties would be my advice to him.
the absolute candid realness of Scott is why i have so much respect for him.... we are in an age of "non real or committed action" just visually access movies ... were the skills of the those involved are no longer valued ...
Scott Adkins is not only a great martial artist but he strives to better himself in the movies. It is noticeable his impact in his movies. As someone in a creative profession (designer) I totally respect the need to pay for other people's creative efforts. I doff my hat to Mr. Adkins he has persisted. Keep going mate.
Scott Adkins is one of my all time favourite actors. The undisputed series is LEGIT and Avengement was a modern British classic. He is a legend. Deserves so much more credit. Actually hurt to hear this man say he was ever broke.
The dude is a legend and one of the closest action heroes we have that has an old style feel. We must protect him at all cost, also I can tell ya why bc hollywood knows he is a man's man. Hes not a pushover!!!!

Scott living in the states for almost 20 years and he still retained his Birmingham accent. I have hope for Scott, I don’t think he’ll end up like Gary Daniels, another fantastic British artist, but is destined to continue making B movies! Perhaps you could interview him.
I am so appreciative of the work he’s doing and will continue to do in the face of adversity. I wish him nothing but the very best and looking forward to seeing him continue to move up levels 💪🏼
Huge Scott Adkins fan. Why isn’t he playing Jason Blood / Etrigan or Captain Britain is beyond me. friggin guy has it all. Great interview
That would be awesome! Etrigon would give him both the action but also the dialogue!
I'd prefer Scott Adkins playing Gambit - My all-time favorite X-Men badass. If Disney gets it's act straight, sign him up for the X-Men reboot.
Wouldve preferred Taskmaster.
Or, and im putting this out there, Super skrull lol
Etrigin not bad
He is a talented Actor and martial artist! I am a true fan and have beenwatching all of his films and have been following Scott Adkins for yrs!
The fact that he gives a prop to all these actors even though they are his competition, shows how great Scott is.
I really respect and appreciate Scott and his dedication to this genre, he’s the real deal, he loves it, I remember back when blockbuster was still a thing I practically lived in there and I rented undisputed ll out of curiosity and by this point lost interest in martial arts and martial arts films but I saw this guy playing a Russian come flip over the ropes all jacked and doing this mind blowing techniques and he 100% brought me back around and I started training again and trying to do things I never even thought of in the past , he’s incredible and deserves huge respect
Undisputed 2 was when scott let people know he could play a wicked anti hero and was a great actor
Me too Bro, BOYKA, BOYKA, BOYKA!!!🤗
Scott is prob my favorite on screen martial artist ever!
I grew up watching Seagal, Van Damme, Norris, Chan etc. but Scott just seems to stand above all of them.
The guy is amazing at what he does and I think it’s high time he’s allowed to shine!
I paid for “accident man 2.” Loved it.
Scott Adkins is an underrated artist, a good actor and a good martial artist.
Scott is killing it! Avengement was incredible and I’m looking forward to watching Accident Man 2, and of course there are Boyka movies. I don’t think we would see any of that if it was a Hollywood movie. Scott is doing it his way and we definitely love it, support it and inspired by it.
Avengement was a monster of a movie I watched it to many times.
avengement my favorite Adkins movie
Undisputed 2&3 was 👍 👌 great!!
Avengement is awesome. Watched it several times
@Handsome790 True, Scott Adkins' weakness is his acting, but the reason martial arts movies doing so
poorly in the west - is because they no longer have an action hero persona in them.
Scott is one of my favorite actors, I've seen most of his movies thats on Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu
@@Trick-Framed I agree. I'd like to think that he'd be hard pressed to find a more loyal group than the one we have here.
@@MatrixCobretti ☯ Agreed.
@@Trick-Framed would be cool if in the future viking meets scott and interviews him in person like he did Michael Jai White.
@@The_Chameleon that would be awesome.
Scott Adkins is probably one of my top favorite actors. His undisputed movies were some of my favorites. I'll always be a Boyka fan
❤💯
Absolutely.
he would be a good James Bond!
This guy is a amazing martial artist. & Good actor.. it's the same way for rock musicians. It's hard to sell albums when people get songs free on the web. Keep up the good work Scott Adkins. Your films are great!!
i have always seen him as a perfect batman, and thats before hearing others have the same opinion. hes such a big inspiration to me growing and still now
Scott Adkins is that dude his kicks are absolutely amazing
Scott Adkins as Bruce wayne " Batman " and " Daredevil " will be awesome.
You are so right in that they wasted the Character of Taskmaster. Scott would have crushed it.
Jackie Chan always did family friendly films. We just need fighting actors that will beat the living shit out of each other on film.
What a Legend ! Scott Adkins will come full circle in Hollywood at some point . His talent is impossible to ignore
Scott Atkins is a gem of the Martial Art Action Theater, We got to find new methods of support.
Scott is one of my favorite actuel actor and he deserves more
Scott Adkins definitely deserves a big budget film. He an amazing martial artist
Everytime I see Scott Adkins pop up in a movie as a supporting character I jump in excitement, the man is mad talented. Last time that happened was while watching Day Shift.
Accident Man is one of my favourite action movies. Sometimes pointless overspending just kills movies. At times, you want movies that look like those we saw when we grew up
Bro, leaving UNDISPUTED movie you go to root for ACCIDENT MAN movie?
Scott Atkins is deep in the thick of the action junkie genre, Scott your A level action hero
Everytime I see a new Scott Adkins film on prime i always rented out . Great actor
Definitely going to pay more attention to Scott Adkins. I love when a person is humble.
To of my favorite martial arts actors Scott adkins and Michael j white. These two really are the only ones keeping that type of movie alive in my opinion
Adkins would be the perfect lead for a Highlander movie. *Fingers crossed
Damn. That's a great idea!!!!
Conner Macleod was casted already
Henry Cavill (not excited
I think that Scott Adkins has shown us the best fight scenes ever. I’d love to see more movies with him. His not just an incredible athlete, he’s also very charismatic and a great looking dude
@theartofaphorism3886 great ones for sure but outdated in comparison of what we see today. Probably due to the technology of filming, today the fight scenes are more spectacular. However I was a true fan of Bruce Lee as well
@@SuperBechti The technology of filming has nothing to do with that. If anything - it only made things worse,
especially in the west. The only one improvement the fight scene ideology made over the years - is eliminating
the constant "fight pausing" gimmick that was prevalent in all the older martial arts films.
The best fight scenes, however, belong to Hong Kong action movies of the late 80's to mid 90's. Always did, and
always will. Even today, the best action movies are made in the far east. And if i had to name a few, then young(!)
Donnie Yen undoubtedly takes the crown in that department. Especially his showdowns against Michael Woods,
which he was famous for in those days. There is a very rare martial arts film "The Death Games"/(Chong po si wang
you xi) 1997, that has scenes worthy of Donnie Yen's laurels. Legendary cast, when all are young and at their best.
Having that said, in the west, while there are numerous martial arts films that are considerably better than Scott's
work (such as Die Fighting), there is no denying that he helped raise the bar of fight action quality in the movies
and inspired many of them.
Ever since Ninja I've always thought he'd be absolutely perfect for Batman. He's got the face, the build, the skill and the charisma.
Scott is such a likeable guy, getting to ask him those questions and get honest answers was awesome, enjoyed this a lot!
Adkins is a complete beast and deserves his props cause he is at the top of his game.
Scott in Undisputed 3 was literally the single film that got me into weightlifting and Jiu jitsu when I was like 14. I remember having my mom drive me to a mall like 1:20 away so I could go to HMV and buy a bluray of that movie. Ive watched it a solid 20x
💪🏾👑
Man, Scott is awesome and so humble. I'm glad you had him on!
We should finance Hard Target 3: Redemption. Scott can grow a mullet, we’ll requisition some rattlesnakes. Bring this tragedy full circle. Hell yeah!
@@burtbakerack1110 🤣🤣🤣
100% agree with crowdfunding. I'm in!
@@burtbakerack1110 lol
What Scott Needs to do is move to Hollywood and start rubbing elbows. Grab that SAG card and just go ham. That would fix his issues in short order as he already has a back catalog of great films, shorts and cameos. As well as his body of stunt work.
This was a very good interview. You had Scott's attention and you asked good questions without interrupting the natrual flow of conversation. Great job
Honestly...he would be a great batman - probably the best. Amazing actor and even better martial artist.
He's such a sincere and straight forward guy with charm. Love this guy
Scott Adkins is my favorite action star ever since the undisputed movies. And he's a really good actor not just action. I don't care what anybody says
I want Scott as Batman for Years. He is just Perfect for Batman.
One thing that I hope Scott understands, he has more fans than even Hollywood knows. I think his JW4 part will prove his worth.
This dude comes across as insanely humble.
Scott Adkins...The most Compleet fighter of the world....Respect and God Bless.
Scott would have been the ultimate Batman!
Been saying this for years. Someone doesn't want him to move into Hollywood. Maybe a good thing, seeing how nasty the community is,, he may have to give up something to get that role. Stay away from mansion parties would be my advice to him.
Or deathstroke.
Scott is such an awesome action star! I still can't believe he hasn't become a superstar. Life is so unfair
Like your channel and honesty! Scott Adkins is an awesome actor and martial artist!
the absolute candid realness of Scott is why i have so much respect for him.... we are in an age of "non real or committed action" just visually access movies ... were the skills of the those involved are no longer valued ...
Scott Adkins is not only a great martial artist but he strives to better himself in the movies. It is noticeable his impact in his movies. As someone in a creative profession (designer) I totally respect the need to pay for other people's creative efforts. I doff my hat to Mr. Adkins he has persisted. Keep going mate.
great interview series , love scott and your interviews you do on the channel
Scott Adkins is one of my all time favourite actors. The undisputed series is LEGIT and Avengement was a modern British classic. He is a legend. Deserves so much more credit. Actually hurt to hear this man say he was ever broke.
Scott Adkins should be one of the top action stars in US. His small role in Day Shift saved this movie in my opinion.
Scott Adkins's resume of films is awesome
The dude is a legend and one of the closest action heroes we have that has an old style feel. We must protect him at all cost, also I can tell ya why bc hollywood knows he is a man's man. Hes not a pushover!!!!
Yeah he is! I think him and Michael Jae White make great co-stars!
@@mylifethaidiy7045 yes true that cant leave out MJW he's awesome too.
Fantastic interview, I would love for Scott Adkins to play Johnny Cage in the next Mortal Kombat movie. Him as Duncan or Conor Macleoud is perfect casting if they do a Highlander remake.
Scott is so underrated. It's genuinely baffling how Hollyweird still hasn't given him that one big role for him. They don't even realise how much potential they're missing out on
This man should be appreciated and given the next Batman ideal Bruce Wayne and Batman or James Bond can see Scott as 007 he has the look and charm and physical ability. Thanks so much for this interview great channel and content.
That what I was thinking the he should've been in a Road House movie cos it will make the fight scenes more badass, hopefully they make Part 2.
I love this man! Great human being and a great actor!
This interview is epic!!
I have been a huge fan of Scott Adkins for years now in his Action films such as Unleashed, The Shepherd, Assassination Games, Ninja 1-2, Accident Man. He has appeared in Hollywood movies like X-Men Origin:Wolverine (he was Deadpool), The Expendables, Criminal, Doctor Strange. Besides his martial arts. He is so humble, funny and nice guy. I also love this guy 💖🤗. He would make a perfect The Punisher, Batman, or Ghost Rider.
One of our best ❤️🇬🇧
Ive been asking this question for years!!!
Scott is one of my favorite actors. I think he can do any role. I thought he would be a great Kraven in a Spiderman movie. I actually think he would be a good James Bond. Viking Samurai keep up the good work and great interviews.
